I was disappointed with the so called reenactments. That bathroom they built was not what our previous diagrams were. Maybe I had the wrong images in my head, but where was the sinks etc. to the left of the shower. I can get confused, I admit, but I got confused with their bathroom layout.I had different images in my head.
Does anyone have the original diagram they would repost here?

I wonder about that too. I think one of the roomies put the gate up, because Napoleon was bothering them upstairs. He's a little dog, a pug, I don't know anything about them. My dog, a shih tzu, would be demanding something to eat. The breed was created to be pampered, nothing like the hunting or herding breeds.

WTF. I'm re-watching yesterday's trial on In-Session. I swear I just saw Jodi slip a notebook off the table and she appeared to move to slip it under herself.
Does she not realize there is a camera on her at all times?

Jodi was....she didn't leave until the following morning. She was late to Ryan's house.......
If that is the case, how did she call Travis' phone from between Kingman, AZ and the NV border at 11:58 PM?

Here's the HLN re-enactment for those who haven't seen it or want to re-watch.

That's quite a big difference. He JUST opened his own office in the middle of defending Jodi, wanted to quit so he could pursue it (not very ethical or professional.) If I recall correctly, he was offered a lower hourly rate to stay on the case and he turned it down and demanded more. Jodi had already lost one attorney so the state gave into Nurmi to keep him on the case.

(I think he KNEW he could do this and that was his plan all along. He is now getting paid almost 10 times what he was getting paid to do the same exact job. This is ludicrous.)

His new law firm defends people being accused of sexual crimes. There is no way he would gross nearly half a million dollars a year the first year in a new practice (and most likely would never gross that much.) He is taking the state for a ride and laughing all the way to he bank.

    ETA: http://www.indeed.com/salary/q-Attor...ounty,-AZ.html
Average attorney salary for Maricopa county is $59,000 per year.
According to this site the average deputy district attorney salary is only $66,000 per year.

I know some attorneys make much more. But, those are usually not those practicing criminal law...and most definitely not those working for the state.

ETA (again): I did some more searching. The highest salary I could find for a district attorney was $148,843. HUGE difference from what Nurmi is raking in. Poor Martinez. This has got to be so insulting knowing Nurmi is making 10 times what he should be making to defend the likes of Jodi.
I don't think he's getting 40 hours. He's in court about 24 hours a week. Plus he's working on his practice. I just can't see any government paying that much more than they would pay their regular salaried worker - hourly workers punch a time clock. He probably doesn't get paid for those 2 hour lunches, that leaves 16 hours.

Fast cash and a stepping stone towards "expert witness" status.

What i am asking is, is it possible he was shot first?
It is possible, but I don't think it's likely. I'm not sure Travis would have been able to put up the struggle that he did if he had been shot in the head first. Because of the way we can guess the bullet went (the brain was too decomposed to do a proper analysis of the wound track), it either bounced around his head and then traveled from right to left, where it lodged right by his left jaw, or it went straight down from the right eyebrow and into his left jaw.

I don't know how he wouldn't just be rolling around on the floor, screaming and weeping with either one of those options -- and those are the only two options. I cannot imagine that even a small round like that wouldn't cause significant pain, and I'm sure that the pain, along with potential loss of some brain function wouldn't also result in diminished or even total loss of consciousness within a few seconds.

Diminshed consciousness or loss of consciousness means that the struggle wouldn't be so fierce. And therefore, he likely wouldn't have as many (or any), or as deep of defensive wounds as he does.

To answer your first question, I believe the defense built their story around Det. Flores's mistaken idea about the gun shot coming first. Jodi latched onto that in order to say she shot Travis in self-defense, but now that Det. Flores is corrected, it just makes her look even more like a liar.

[QUOTING NCBLONDE: Baez -- among others -- theorized that it got kicked around and landed in the puddle during his imagined struggle. That doesn't wash though, because the bullet only had blood on one side, the underneath side. If there was blood all over the floor and the bullet got kicked through the blood, it's very unlikely that the bullet got no blood at all on it, until it landed in the puddle.*]

If that were the case it would have had more of a rolling motion I would think. Wasn't there an expert that testified that there was no sign of the casing rolling through the puddle?

Is it just me or did JM totally own the doctor from angles the defense was not even expecting? He basically said.. your tests are bullshit, you crossed the line of assessment, and you don't have an MD at the end of your name. haha

It was very exciting listening to him pick apart the supposed tests done by the psychologist. What was even funnier was the fact that when he answered honestly it pretty much demolished anything he had done to help jodi's case. The more honest he was, the worse she looked.

The PTSD test that was done while Jodi was still sticking with the ninja story was HUGE. You would honestly think that the defense would have caught that, at least in anticipation of what JM might do. But no - it was apparently a non-issue to the defense team.

Every time I think "Jodi is so done", something else comes out that seems to seal her fate even more!

There WAS physical evidence in the Anthony case. The smell of decomp in the car, the trash bag with adipocere on a piece of paper towel, the chloroform levels in the car, the laundry bag that was found with Caylee that came from the Anthony house, the duct tape that was found wrapped around her little face that came from the Anthony house. Casey Anthony lucked out with a lazy jury. She had a jury that was sequestered and wanted OUT so they could celebrate the 4th of July weekend. That jury did not do their job.I'm sooo tired of some people making excuses for the Pinellas twelve!

The neck wound is a sign of her rage. She must have been so enraged that it wasn't going according to her plan of trapping him in the shower and having all the evidence of her being there go down the shower drain.

She went there to kill him. I don't believe she was offering him any choice at all. In her mind TA was going live happily ever after with Mimi Hall. After all of the time she had invested in trying to become Mrs Alexander and wanting the nice house, the trips, etc. She was not happy about going back to Yreka and her drab little life of skipping from waitressing job to waitressing job, getting by on minimum wage and tips. Living in that dingy little house of her Grandparents.

No, she claims she ran the hallway and entered the closet through the door in the bedroom and then back out the door that exits into the bathroom. Her story makes no sense either way. She says he was standing by her shins after he "body slammed her". If he was enraged as she claims no way she makes it by him to get to either hallway or the door entering the closet from the bathroom.

Based on ME testimony. Also this video is a pretty good reenactment of her story vs what is probably closest to the truth of really happened.

And, IIRC the ME said he believes the shot came last but he could not say for certain due to the condition of the brain at the time of autopsy.
Blood is sticky. It's thick and viscous in great amounts. The bullet casing would have left a track of some sort in all that blood. No way it got kicked around and landed the way it was found without having blood all over it.

This is unbelievable to me. How can the state see fit to overpay him by so much?
Any wonder why he wastes so much time and talks so slow?

ETA: some of the JAII whackadoos were complaining that the poor defense couldn't afford a better expert witness. Not true. But, lets pretend it is true: why wouldn't Nurmi sacrifice a few grand of his $468,000/year to hire a better one?
I don't the State of AZ would pay him that much. He would have to submit detailed billing records in order to be reimbursed. In this day and age and especially in AZ under Jan Brewer I doubt they'd fork over that much.

Oh, but they are. I'm just going by what is in the court minutes. It does NOT state a cap on it. That's the math, $225 an hour adds up pretty quickly. If I were paying taxes in Arizona I would be furious.
