Police are keeping "an open mind" about whether drugs were involved in the death of a student at her 18th birthday party in Devon. Robyn Bennett, who was studying for her A-levels, died on Saturday following a party at a friend's house in Crediton. Post-mortem tests are being carried out on her body after reports drink and drugs were consumed at the party. A woman, aged 36, arrested on suspicion of allowing her house to be used for smoking cannabis, has been bailed. read more...

Ryan Heard (19) was shot and killed in a drug deal gone bad
A graduate of St. Amant High School is dead, and another teen is fighting for his life, after what detectives are calling "a drug deal gone bad." It happened late Sunday night, along Hoo Shoo Too Road, a few miles from Woodlawn High. WAFB's Cheryl Mercedes has more from the scene. East Baton Rouge sheriff's detectives say it happened somewhere along a winding wooded portion of Hoo Shoo Too Road, near where the road ends. This is where they say 19-year-old Ryan Heard and another teen were shot. Keith Bates with the sheriff's office says they believe the two were in the middle of a drug deal with two other guys, Marshall Dabbs and Andrew Grantier.
