I just saw a Daily Mail article saying kicking/thrashing/punching in your sleep may be an early sign of Parkinson's??... also read that it is common in smokers or people around pesticides alot. I was a smoker, but I've been a violent sleeper since I was little, my grandma would share the bed with me when my parents went on vacations and I beat her up too!

My husband suffers from night terrors, scares the crap out of me. He does not hit me he grabs me really hard and either shakes me or pulls me towards him. Not a fun way to wake up.mtheymdid a sleep study suspecting apnea since he screams as well but all they found was excessive limb movement.
