Not disagreeing with you about premeditation, but I don't think wearing pants and socks is premeditation. Some people never wear shorts. My daughter is always cold. She always wears pants and socks in the house. She says it's cold enough to freeze meat in here. AND I always wear long pants on trips.

There is no way the defense is going to be finished today! Doesn't matter if they are calling 1 or 2 witnesses. The defense moves in slow motion, so I suspect today will be no different.

I was thinking about Jodi's claim that Travis said "I'm gonna kill you bitch", within the context of her bullshit story. If he was shot in the face, above his right eye, he would be bleeding profusely, right down into his eye. I'm not even talking about whether or not the bullet went through his frontal lobe. He would be completely blinded by the blood, at least in the right eye. Also, the bullet lodged in his left cheek/ upper jaw, IMO, would have rendered him unable to speak clearly, if at all. To seriously believe that Travis was saying anything of substance including "I'm gonna kill you bitch", is ridiculous. I can't imagine any scenario, in which Travis would be filled with rage after being shot. He would likely be trying to get the hell away from her or begging for her help. If it was me, I think I would be shocked that I just got shot in the face, and concerned that I was about to die, because I'm bleeding everywhere. I can't fathom that he would be concerned at all about Jodi, except if he saw (through the blood pouring out of his wound), that she was coming after him again with a knife.
In addition, she told both Samuels and LaViolette, that after he was shot, she could 'remember' getting up, running down the hall, with him chasing after her. You would think that a bullet to the head would slow him down enough for her to exit the room, run down the stairs, and exit the house. But nope, not Jodi..she got a knife and butchered him. It's pretty obvious that she had been watching too many 'B' horror movies when she came up with that lie.

ICAM! My mother was killed in a horrific car accident by drunk, angry driver. He died as well as his wife and one of his children in the accident. My stepfather and this man's six year old child are the only 2 who survived.

My mother missed most of my brothers and sisters' weddings and the births of her 14 grandchildren. She was such a huge part of my life. She was my best friend and the grief is something you never get over.

Juror number 8 gets no sympathy from me.

    Good early morning everyone!

I'm reading page 746 so I don't know if The Hughes have been mentioned as part of the motive or not. JA and Travis were spending a lot of time with the Hughes when they were dating and Jodi always told Sky her problems with Travis. Jodi models herself on the alpha female in her life. I think she wanted Sky's life with a successful husband, kids and material wealth. The Hughes were on the original 48 hours documentary about the case telling a tale of JA listening at the door while talking to Travis. I don't remember where I saw it, but there was an incident where Sky told Jodi she was no longer welcome in her home.
Flash forward, the trip to Mexico is with the Hughes, no you can't go Jodi. During her interrogation tape one of the first things she says is about the Hughes and how bad JA feels for Travis's "brothers and sisters". By killing TA she's getting back at the Hughes who rejected her and therefore made Travis reject her. I think that's why the defense keeps trying to bring them into the trial. It probably really upsets Jodi that she hasn't had Numi ask them about anal.

Agreed! I don't know anyone who buys a gun for protection, keeps a bullet in the chamber, the safety off, and their doors unlocked. Makes ZERO sense!

Not only all of the above, but why on the top shelf of the closet? For a single guy, wouldn't he put it in the nightstand? Stupid question, really, since we know the whole story is garbage. I think she really fucked up when she brought up the holster. What a moron. I think she was trying to make it sound more reasonable but just shot herself in the foot. Actually, she should have shot herself in the head, but I digress.

I think shooting herself after massacring Travis would have made so much more sense than this insane fiasco we're dealing with now.

It's funny how many stalkers Jodi has now. I wonder if it's as fun as she thought it would be?

Her undisputed intention is to deceive. Nothing she says has any credibility--whether factual or not. It's all directed towards supporting her ultimate deception, "Travis made me kill him."

She has demonstrated out of her own mouth that she deserves the worst. It's our dilemma to try to figure out how any human could choose to live a life that is directed towards that end.

What Gibb probably meant to say is "This fuckery is turning me into an alcoholic and a criminal, you bastards are paying me $12 a day for a total of $567 since January 2, and Jodi ruins everything, including Tootsie Pops which were my absolute fucking favorite, not to mention I'm going to explode if I don't get to talk to someone about this crap."

No kick still doesn't mean you don't have to pull the trigger to shoot. When you fire a gun, kick or no kick, you are aware that it fired. I have a small .357 with very little kick, and it sounded like a fucking bomb went off when I fired it inside. This shooting took place in a bathroom. I hope you understand what I mean, she knew she shot him. "The gun just went off" excuse is used all the time and never works. She said at one time (ninja story?) that she heard a ring. I bet her ears were ringing. I doubt she considered ear protection in all of her planning.

I'll be so glad there's something new to watch today, I'm about Jodi'd out with repeats for the past few days and nights. That and all the Trayvon reports here.
After Jodi, HLN mentioned yesterday that the next case is here in Florida with a gal who killed her boyfriend too. Has a zillion stories too. I only heard this once, maybe HLN will bring it up again.

Good afternoon everyone! Or at least it's afternoon where I am! ;-) Thanks to everyone for the kind welcome!! And also hello to my fellow n00b d00d Nicola!! And thanks to all who responded to my question about the Judge! Would love to hear her give Stabby a good old fashioned dressing down (not the type she's used to ) from the bench! It would be awesome!

Coconut brought up the Hughes-who to me are like the gossipy neighbours from Hell. But would also like to add that a lot of people who call themselves Travis' friend, have done things in the media that to me are just fucking deplorable! Take for instance, Dave Hall. Besides the retard level stupidity of bringing the video of Travis shooting a gun to light, he also provided Big Head (Nancy Grace) with photos and video of Travis' funeral! Now I've read the part in this thread where people were talking about funeral pics weird vs not weird. Of which is neither here nor there, but what I keep thinking was "What kind of asshole SELLS those pics to a trashy tabloid television show?!" And the video of the funeral too, where you can see his family crying!! That's an utter invasion of privacy! And there's even a pic with said douchebag posing with the closed coffin! Talk about bad taste!

Anyway, my point is that, it's not just the Hughes', there's many people who are using this trial for their Fifteen Minutes. And it sickens me!!!
    That is all!

And now we await our next witness. Any potential nicknames yet? Goofner? :P OK. I'm not going to judge him til I hear what he has to say. *pinky promise*

    Everyone have a good day!!

Regarding the bullet shell. Does anyone recall if there was any followup about the shell sitting on top of the congealed blood. When she was shown that picture, she stated that's not where the shell landed. So, if it landed elsewhere and was kicked onto the blood spot, why didn't she pick up the shell and take it with her?

Stabby didn't have glasses back then. Maybe with her nearsightedness she didn't see it. She may not have even realized a shell was ejected. Nothing she says makes any sense, and I am dubious of any words out of her lying mouth. I thought her glasses were fake for trial, but I saw a clip of her in an earlier hearing, and she had on yet another pair. She was in her jailhouse stripes. I have seen her wearing at least 4 different styles of glasses. I'm still not convinced she really needs them.

Have to disagree with that one. Travis (or who he was in life) needs all the help he can get! He can't be called to the stand to refute cherry picked, out of context, misconstrued, misrepresented testimony, that only benefits the person who murdered him! Being dead n' all!

Couldn't agree more! I fly home Mon 6th, and was thinking, gosh what if the verdict comes in when I'm on the plane! Now I'm thinking, realistically, the case will probably not even have gone to the Jury by that time! Not forgetting to factor in JA's migraines!

When she testified to this, I was laughing my ass off, because it's highly indicative someone who is guilty taking aim and firing! They always say, "the gun just went off"! Remember Betty Broderick? She went over to her ex-husband's house in the middle of the night, used one of her children's keys to let herself him, and shot him and his new wife while they lay sleeping in their beds! That was her war cry during the trial, "the gun just went"! Hoh-kay!

Just want to point out that Mary Winkler used that one as well as the "trash the victim" defense successfully. I'm just about positive that the Mary Winkler trial was Jodi's inspiration for her current strategy.

OMG, the smile on MW's face when the verdict was read sticks with me to this day. I suspect we won't see that look from this murderer. I think Stabby had access to BWS books and literature. She hit too many buzzwords almost always as an afterthought or inappropriately despite Nurmi trying to drag them out of her.
