Jilli, hope I spelled that right. I agree with u 100% the DT is just grasping at straws. They presented their case with those good for nothing Starr witnesses now finish already. Give it too the jury. Like the jury doesn't already know she is guilty as hell and another doctor really can't make her look any better.

Judge better not let the DT unleash this surrebuttal torture. What if this trial never ends!

So, basically in the most simplistic way I can articulate it, the Arias defense (at the eleventh hour) wants to introduce a few alternative outcomes for that skank that are all beneficial to HER as well as decide to throw more witnesses into this crapfest and prolong it even more? Is that inaccurate at all?

Their arrogance and disrespect for the judicial system, jury & family members enduring this farce is appalling.

Unfortunately, lameass judge Stephens is likely to allow this shit to go down.

Yup! Enough is enough. Even if she does have PTSD, BPD, XYZPDQ, it doesn't take away the fact that she premeditated his murder.

That is what I am thinking. I think that they are trying to prolong this so that the jurors start saying "screw you guys, I'm going home". As NCBlonde said many pages ago. "Nurmi is thinking 2 down, 5 to go"

I'm going to be pissed if the judge allows the defense to do a surbuttal. I have been keeping up with trial and want to see it to its end, but I'm losing my patience at a rapid pace. Those poor jurors are prolly burnt out-i feel so bad for them.

You beat me to it. I was just thinking we might lose another juror this week. It's one thing to serve for 4 months if the case is productive. Right now it's just about psychology, absolutely nothing about evidence or anything on that line.

This shouldn't have any bearing on tomorrow's proceedings... right? Am I missing something?

I really hope this issue doesn't delay the rebuttal case. I would assume that the defense is not allowed to delay the state's case with stuff like this (before the rebuttal case is even done), but I might be thinking too optimistically.

I'm ready to get away from the psychology stuff and to get to some strong premeditation evidence. Another delay would just drive everyone crazy (including the jury, I'm assuming!)

This clambake is over! The DT has had PLENTY of time to line up witnesses. The state gets a rebuttal. DT should be finished. I pray the judge has some sense of getting this trial over with, and not allowing any unnecessary delays. Defense has tried to throw a wrench into the system countless times. They had their witness...ALV. Let the rebuttal continue, then move on to closings.

Just the fact that there may be hearings on these issues could cause delays, if not interrupt any testimony planned for tomorrow, or any other day for that matter.

She doesn't want the dog and pony show to stop. Once there is a verdict and her fate is decided all of the attention goes away.

They did. He's already interviewed her. When JM was doing his cross of Stabby on the different lies she'd told to her "experts" she tried to throw this guy's name out there but JM redirected her.

The defense would have been very aware of Dr Demrte's dx of Stabby plus they had the opportunity to interview her prior to trial. The BPD dx was not a surprise to the defense team.

Eleven experts turned down the defense request to get involved.

Some of the guests on the talk show said the judge would have to allow the consideration of manslaughter. What is worse, the jury won't get to know there is an argument going on with the attorneys and the prosecutor. They also said that JM is trying to get the video in showing her sleeping in Travis' lap. To prove that she was not a dirty secrete.

I agree, it would be extremely stupid for the DT to call either ALV or Samuels again. I guess they would have to find someone else? thats what I don't understand. Who else would stand up for JA and try to rebut Dr. Demarte?

Maybe they just want to preemptively file because they're going to want to rebut other witnesses? I guess I'm just not sure.
I think it was one of those HLN reporters in the courtroom that said Nurmi has a *new* witness. I think it was Jinkasaurus that said that this afternoon. I don't think I could stand another witness. She also said that most appeals are overturned due to the jury instructions. I guess that's why Nurmi submitted 50 pages of instructions. Clever. Gotta give him credit for trying everything, including the kitchen sink.

I was thinking about Loonywop and her/his comments which inferred she was used and abused. Then the topic came up about how Travis was so selfish and crappy to have sex with her. Anyhooo...I began thinking about that. I don't understand why Travis is such a horrendous person to some people because he used her for sex. On the flip side, why isn't Jodi getting the same kind of scrutiny? She knew he wasn't going to marry her. SHe knew he didn't want to take her out in public. She claims he abused her, but she kept going back and offering sex, which was the only thing he took advantage of, but she gets a pass. I think what they got out of each other just washes each other's motives out of the equation. They were two inadequate people who filled their needs with the wrong person. If he had murdered her, would she be scrutinized the same as TA is? I doubt it.

The bottom line is that this was premeditated. I can't for the life of me think that a jury can't sift through all the bullshit and not find her guilty of premeditated murder.

Yes, she is probably going to allow it and the jurors will not know there was an argument about it. Unfortunately, the defense gets all the breaks. I think that was there game plan from day one. To throw off the prosecution as much as possible. This can be seen with all the side bars. Now, they are hoping to get her off on a manslaughter charge. One of the guest attorneys said that there is going to be a 50 page jury instructions - meaning that some may get frustrated and give up and go w lesser charge. I would hate to see that happen.
