Well, IMO, I think her attorneys are sub par. I think some evidence was let in that her attorneys never even objected to.
One example would be the kool-aid stained car. Why did they let JM bring that up? Why didn't they ask the state if they even tested the kool aid stain? They (the def) just let the Budget guy bring it up and once he did-nothing was ever said about the kool aid stain again. So in some weird way-they let the kool aid just float around without disputing it. If I was a juror, I would assume the kool aid was blood.
The budget guy said there was no floor mats in the car. The attorneys never even bought up the fact that the "check in" sheet doesn't list that it's missing floor mats. Jodi was never charged for missing floor mats (unless there is a sheet that I haven't seen)
The hair color argument is shaky at best. JM can't really prove it, and Nurmi hasn't disproved it. It's just floating around.
Those are a few right off the top of my head. Don't get me wrong, I believe Jodi planned to kill Travis. I think she dyed her hair, rented a plain car, and drove to kill Travis. Then I think everything she did afterwards was to provide herself with an alibi. We all know Jodi killed Travis. Brutally! The overkill of Travis proves it was not self defense. IMO, I believe this trial is about the life or death of Jodi....not the innocent or guilt of Jodi.
The state has a great case with a lot of proof (most would call it a slam dunk kind of case). BUT, the state has to prove everything they say. I know premeditation can come at anytime, but the issue the state *may* have with the jury is the photos of the "fun" Jodi and Travis had before he died. From some of the jury questions-there is somebody that thinks Jodi just snapped.
The bad things about Jodi's attorneys....they are way to worried about getting a mistrial instead of defending their client. They are so busy watching the jury, news, gallery...they don't pay attention to some of the things that the state says.
Those are just some of the reasons I think Jodi has a good case for an appeal (if she is found guilty) I don't think it will do any good-and I think if that happens it will be well in the LONG away future.
Hope that made sense?
