In my opinion, Martinez has taken the bait. He has been drawn into a land war in Russia, so to speak. He is fighting many battles on many fronts and it is taking away from the focus on the most important matter in the case, premeditation. The defense attorneys are a lot smarter than you might think. They know their opponent and they are toying with him - don't think so? How about making him prepare all weekend for an issue they dropped. Nurmi/Wilmott look bad because their client is a nightmare, but they will save her life. Unfortunately, Martinez seems to be helping...
Coconut! Your observations are valid, but give some consideration to alternate approaches. There is a story about Michaelangelo being asked about how he 'carved' the statue of David.

"Well," he said, "I got this great big hunk of marble, then I got a hammer and some chisels and I chopped away all the chunks, bits and tiny granules that weren't David. After I did all that, there he was. My masterpiece!"

I think Martinez has chosen to employ the Michaelangelo technique. No?

Now, now, now, Juan Martinez very specifically asked him if was a doctor or not. Samuels is not a doctor, and JM also got into testimony that he cannot prescribe drugs. Psychiatrists are doctors, not psychologists.

I don't think highly of psychologists. It seems they rely too much on their own personal opinions rather than science, like a psychiatrist, a doctor would.

I don't wish to insult anybody, that is just my personal opinion, based on my personal experience.

What would your professional opinion be with just general observation? Do you have a read on JA's mom. Isn't it true some personality disorders are genetic? I just find mother's behavior is odd considering the situation.
This goes back to my borderline argument... personality disorders are much different than chemical imbalances.
A borderline is raised... from the families displays... good gravy! If we look at personality...just look back on your own life with your bio parents...the people that raised you...etc...Her mom shows a real lack of respect for everything, including her own daughters life...as a psychologist and family therapist I would LOVE to do a genogram on this family!!!

So you believe a borderline is pure nurture and has nothing to do with nature?

HAHA. I am reminded of the Drake thread with all the dollar bills laying on the floor.

Hey Batman. Would love to know your opinion of the dr. that is on the stand.

I think she has moments where she is very good. She's a likeable person to me. I think she is much more passionate about this case than Nurmi is. I also think she puts up a better fight than Nurmi with JM.
Then she has moments where she seems like an airhead. It may or may not be an act.

Today: as it stands, the state still has not proven premeditation and the defense has not proven that Jodi suffered some mental problem during the murder. Actually, I think they have proven just a rage killing. IMO. These opinions of mine may change as the trial moves on.
Hi Berm...I have not actually watched his testimony yet...been busy. From what I have read here...yikes!!! I go to court a lot! Never once have I "drawn" an exhibit!!! Im going to say this...only because we are all human...this poor man got in WAY over his head!!! Money or not! On the topic of ethical violations...at first it didn't seem like a big deal...nature of this business if you do not say what someone wants to hear. I have no problem saying this... I have had three ethical complaints filed against me...all unfounded...just pissed off peeps cause I did not back them in court. I feel in this case...wow, I am in no way complimenting Jodi...and she has this way of manipulating...not only men but women too..look at Donovan.
At this point he is not credible...hope some of that made sense!

Nothing else was taken .
Martinez explained the 'felony' as in killing while 'in commission of a felony' some time ago. The felony is burglary, i.e. 'being unlawfully in a dwelling (without the consent of the owner.) Martinez stated that, although Travis initially invited her into his house, logically that invitation would have been withdrawn immediately after Arias stabbed him the first time. Thereafter, she was in his dwelling 'without his consent' and therefore, from that time forward until she left, she was committing the 'felony' of burglary. Arias went on to kill Travis during that time, so it is concluded she committed a killing, (murder) while engaged in the commission of a 'felony' (burglary). That adds up to first degree murder. Nothing has to be 'taken' to qualify the offense as burglary. Just being in the house unlawfully is enough. Aggravating circumstances, (Extreme Cruelty) were then added after a separate court hearing on the subject of the 'Aggravators.' Hence, the Death Penalty qualification. Makes sense!

The reasoning may be complex, but the conclusions are logical. That's the beauty and purity of the law.

I read at another site that the family is getting low on funds. Also, some scammer was out posting fake links for funds. If you want to help, use the link at the Justice for Alexander facebook page. That is the one where Samantha will send you a letter.

This is Juan Martinez' style. He is known as the "pitbull", and he's been very successful with it. He reminds us oldtimers of Det. Columbo.

I said this in an earlier post...I fixed it because I was wrong about when it happened. It was at the end of part one of today. At 1:23, Jodi is mouthing "Jennifer", but Willmott doesn't hear her. Then a few moments later she starts looking around all sneaky like. At 1:24 Jodi puts on her jacket, looks behind her, makes an odd face, grabs the yellow notebook and walks away. Then the camera man goes back to the attorneys and the judge. I want to know what she was doing with her sneaky yellow notebook.

Maybe it's time they change the deputy escorting her to court. The other day I say him wipe some crumbs or something off the table in front of JA. Then she said something to him and smiled, it looked very friendly.
I suppose they gave her some leeway while she was on the stand so she could testify, but party time is over Jodi.

You always make sense! You're the one who put forward the 'nurture vs. nature' concept/dilemma. I learned the words during my time as a Welfare Visitor many decades ago. You understand the meaning.

Yes I'm prolly serial posting right now..and I haven't posted anything in a while. I was just thinking about JA's abuse by her mom...a wooden spoon yes? Jodi is not much younger or older than some of us here. I was spanked, hit with a belt, yelled at and other such unpleasantness. When I was growing up all of those things were not considered abuse. It is only by today's laws and standards. I was convinced by a therapist that I was an abused child in my adult years but until I went into therapy never thought of my self as abused. By my ex husband, totally!! I don't know why Im bringing this up...just food for thought maybe?

Can't edit...maybe my thoughts lend to the PTSD. I was told I had PTSD because of the abuse my dad afflicted on me...in reality if someone hadn't TOLD me I had PTSD maybe I wouldn't have it!

Welcome back. David Lohr on YouTube has all the testimony without the sidebars. Somebody here said we got 18 minutes of testimony yesterday morning. The afternoon is funny.
tawndilly from MDS also has the videos, but I find it easier to search for Lohr. I have way too many links on this case.
