people on HLN keep saying there are 11 men and 1 woman on the jury.
No.... actually there are currently 11 men and 7 women right now. 6 jurors will be randomly eliminated prior to deliberations.

    Sorry. Vent over.

It's possible Jodi didn't know the difference when she bought the can, or Walmart was out of gas cans and only had kerosene cans.
They're the same cans--just different colors. It's a matter of labelling. If you use either of them as designed and stick them in the back of the garage for a year or so, when you go back you will know that gas is in the red can and kerosene is in the blue. The only difference is color.

I do not see how to directly respond to a blue box. Course, I do not pay to use this site. Maybe that is the problem for me. No wonder someone thinks I am a serial poster. I don't mean to be...

Thank you for any and all help on how to respond. I see no box to uncheck at the upper right corner.
I found the FAQ, located up in the left area of the task bar, to be of great help. It really answers all the in's and out's of navigating this site.

I'm on a team? Do we have personalized jerseys? Do we get together and have weekend cookouts?

Wanting a coldblooded killer to pay for her crime makes me "on a team"?

No seriously, I didn't realize that people who hold a similar opinion -- in this case the one that a brutal murderer should pay for her crime -- means we are all on some team. I have a lot of opinions on a lot of things, guess I'm on a lot of "teams" then?

Sounds like a lot of deflection on your part. You can try and make this about the family, friends, or even internet posters as much as you want. It doesn't change the fact that this is about Jodi and no one else but Jodi.

Jodi did the crime, Jodi will do the crime, whether Jodi fans like it or not. If a cold-blooded killer is not paid to pay for their actions -- be it LWOP or DP -- we all lose. The justice system works to mete out punishments that are fitting of the crime committed. If we don't hold people to those punishments, then yes, it's a loss to society.

This woman is guilty, of first degree murder, by LAW, not by personal opinion, she deserves the punishment that comes along with it.

Go on and try to play deflection games, but it won't work.

JM blasts her in court with Walmart.
Immediate side bar of which the result is telling IMO
Juan is allowed to continue! This tells me that he basically assured the court he has the goods to back up his blast and that is why the court allowed him to go on.
Friday JM files a motion to supplement his LOW!
Nurmi comes in today with compel shit following Martinez's Friday filing.

conincidence? May be unrelated but, again, with the underhanded way Nurmi operates, I'll wait and see what plays out.
My guess is .... Nurmi is deceitful. He files shit for the record with the court at every turn. i.e. Like when he was asking 'on the record' the other day trying to make it look like JM wasn't cooperating. This isn't a first Nurmi's pulled this cry wolf deceitful act. JM for the umpteenth time has to stand and tell the court, your honor, he just asked me for the and I said I'd bring them and provide them by tomorrow so I don't know why he feels compelled to repeat this just to make a record'. [paraphrased from my 'Nurmi is an asshole' memory]

Nurmi plays these unprofessional games often so it is hard to tell if this is just another one of those tricks. Im leaning its probably more towards a another Nurmi cry wolf act.
I can't see experience prosecutor Juan Martinez backing himself into a bad corner without a way out. Evidence can always be on going because the court nor the lawyers know what a witness will bring up so what some ask 'late' isn't late. They can't enter evidence before they even know what a witness will pull our of their ass.

It seems a polygraph would pick up on that, just as we're picking it up while she's testifying. The only way the defense would want something like this in evidence for the jury to consider, especially at the time of sentencing, is if she passed somehow...(could she be sociopathic enough to actually believe her own lies enough to pass one of these things???)
If she passed three different polygraphs with three different stories, damned skippy I want that to be a consideration during sentencing!

There really is no difference between a gas can and a kerosene can. At least not the one Jodi bought. The only difference is color. Gas cans are red, kerosene are generally blue. That is to prevent someone from using the wrong fluid. Obviously you would not want to put kerosene in your car or gasoline in your space heater. Aside from that, you can put either fluid in either can. Jodi was using the kero can for gas, so it didn't matter the color, she was not then going to use it for home heating.

OH! And an attorney did say tonight, the way Martinez is calling her out on all her lies - well, it landed one of the woman on death row with the same technique. Course, we know it is a different jury. I feel the jury really wants to believe her. Possibly because she does not look like a killer.
By listening to the 200+ questions that the jury had for Jodi, I am NOT getting the sense that the jury is wanting to believe her. I believe that they probably went into this task, believing her innocent until proven guilty. But the evidence the DA has presented and, certainly, the weeks that they have spent listening to Jodi and observing her....I believe they have a lot of doubt planted in their minds about how much she can be believed.

Yep, and a 5-gallon (or 2 gallon etc) is going to hold slightly more than 5 gallons, by nature of the fact that gas expands with higher temperatures. 5 gallons of gas would not then fill a gas completely to the top, that have to allow room for expansion. So, that tiny little 9/100ths of a gallon extra is very much possible to have put into that can.

I don't think she's malingering when she talks of him the present tense, I think it's because in her mind he's hers now forever. I don't think she even knows it doing it. I do however, find it it disturbing and very creepy.

Martinez isn't re-thinking anything. He knows exactly what he's doing. He's been sitting on this case for years. Everything he does is for a reason. A well thought out reason. The gas cans is something he's been waiting to pounce on when the moment was right. He's known for bringing in surprise witnesses (all well under the court of law). He's thoroughly prepared for everything. No re-thinking going on in his head.

Denn, you've posted 9 posts on this page 1734 alone. The best way to post is to think out all of your questions and post them at once. That way you won't look like a serial poster. Just some advice. I'm obviously just "member" status, and you're "senior" status, but you've moved up to senior in record time because you post a lot. It's ok to post stuff, just think out your questions first. Not trying to be mean or anything. Just trying to give you some lowly "member" advise.
