She still had Infiniti when she went to AZ in rented Focus to kill TA. It was repo'd sometime after she killed TA and before she was arrested. Her story about the whole reason that Travis sold her his BMW and allowed her to make payments because she could not afford the Infinity anymore might be true but then she blew the engine after she hooked it up to a two wheel car dolly and left it in first gear and blew the engine. It's in her interview w/Flores

He (Martinez) could have pointed it out...it's common sense, don't need to call an expert in to point out the very obvious ways her story of the gunshot could not have happened as she claims.

I Just think he's doing a poor job in a very high stakes trial.

I think he sold her the BMW because she could no longer afford the Infiniti and it was going to be repossessed, so he was doing her a solid by selling her the BMW and was nice enough to let her make lower payments (my opinion). Of course we all know the BMW got fucked up somehow by her leaving it in gear on the UHaul driving to Yreka. So, basically the BMW was useless to her anyway. I do remember her saying on the stand that she didn't take her car because it was gas guzzler and she wanted to save money on fuel, so maybe it was the Infiniti she was referring to. I do not know the timeline on this.

The BMW never made it out of AZ. Doubt it made it that far out of Mesa. It's in her interview w/Flores. It was hooked up to a two wheel car dolly, she left it in first gear & blew it up all over the freeway

If that's the case, then it really makes no sense. She can't afford the car she already has, but she talks into Travis selling her his car, so now she had 2 car payments to make?

And so then, she goes out and rents a 3rd car to take an unimportant trip? Unimportant in the sense that it was not an emergency to meet up for booty calls with Travis and Ryan, when she has 2 car payments and no money.

Of course we know that the trip was important because she was going to/did kill him. But, why did that trip have to be made right then? It didn't (unless you're desperate to murder someone asap I guess), and most people who had common sense would not undertake such a trip when they have 2 car payments and probably other bills that they can't afford to make.

Is Jodi a moron as well as a murderer?

    To your points:
    a) she had limited time off
    b) it's scary driving across the middle of nowhere esp if running low on gas
    c) I could be wrong but I don't think GPS was that common in 2008
    d) there were probably a lot more jobs in Mesa than Yreka
I rented a car with GPS in 2000 on a trip to Iowa. And it was a budget model and still had GPS. I remember so distinctly because I had never used it before and was kind of excited to get a car that had it.

Oh, I wasn't aware that the BMW blew up. I will have to youtube her interviews with Flores when I have more time. Thanks!

I think we know that answer!

I think along the same lines as you regarding the cars and payments. But we know she wasn't making them on the Infiniti, and Travis never cashed her check(s) so. I think she had to make the trip right then to hurry up and talk him into taking her to Cancun instead of Mimi. When he blew her off, she killed him. Pure speculation but my opinion.

i think martinez is not bringing certain thinks up on purpose - because she will lie and deny all of it, so it might have bigger impact w/ rebuttal witnesses and experts, where she doesn't have the chance to deny it cuz she is done testifying and also in his closing - like the timing, she can't pull off every thing she said in the 90-120 secs the pics prove, but if he shows that w. experts rather than asking her and letting her shift her story to match it seems like it will have more impact

Ok, watching this video on Dr Drew on TA explaining his bank robbery story. Stop me if I'm wrong but it seems Stabby may have taken parts of this story and woven them into her ninja story that she told Flores.

    Anyone else feel that way?

The last time I bought some, I had to check several stores because it's not something everyone carries and that was probably around 2006 or 2007, so I doubt Jodi would have had access in her little town. I had to go check and the little tube of concealer that I have is $22, which I wouldn't consider super expensive.

Not that it matters that much, really, since Jodi was most likely lying about this, too.

I loved the jury questions that I heard today. I think the jury isn't buying what Jodi is selling. I give them props because they've been paying attention so much more than I would be able to if I were one of them.
She couldn't afford a $5.00 gas can per her account. There is NO WAY she used Dermablend. The bruises(hickies), were more than likely covered with her $.99 Wet & Wild pressed matte from CVS. Oh wait, $.69 with her coupons.

She takes parts of real life and inserts them into her lies (that must indicate some sort of pathology) For example I think Travis might have really have been "pulling at her clothes" as he was dying, and she stuck that into her story as him trying to attack her after she shot him.

She's been on the stand for 15-16 days or so, yet she's up there talking as if she was in a job interview. No sign of exhaustion or mental/emotional drain. I would be half-dead by now and straining to get out yet another answer. On top of it, she's got to work at keeping her lies straight. She's got stamina like no other. A freak of nature.

As far as the journal, would she lie in it .. sure, we've seen evidence she even lied in it after she killed Travis pretending she didn't know. She's crazy evil. That kind of liar can easily lie to themselves, others and their journal! Not marrying him, pfft that entry alone shows her defeated, depressed she wasn't winning him over imo. Her actions alone show it was her chasing him. Same journal,. I love him so completely She said she wanted to kill herself in the same journal .. damn she didn't do that either.

I am very familiar with bad relationship in youth, I don't however project that into this case for Jodi to balance out anything. Every instance needs to be evaluated on its own is how I approach it. Jodi was almost thirty, not a teen.
    Hi Was,
Martinez is citing the fact that she rented the car in Redding, 90 miles from Yreka as evidence of premeditation. I'm just saying that doesn't hold up to me.

The whole thing rests on whether Martinez can prove premeditation, otherwise she gets Murder 2, serves another 16 or so years in prison and gets out. That's all I'm saying. No question she is evil, narcissistic and a pathological liar. She is all those things. The question is can Juan put her away for life or not...at this point I have doubts.

Not sure how you guys aren't realizing that he CAN'T call another witness while in the process of cross examining Jodi. It doesn't work that way. NOW that he has her statements, he can call various experts and use other evidence and details to disprove her. It's not like you can just pull a bunch of various people up on the stand at the same time. Nurmi will go through his remaining people and rest his case. Then JM will call his rebuttal witnesses and disprove things that were stated by Jodi and any others called by Nurmi. Realize, we are only half way through this thing - this is FAR from over. He has been a prosecutor for AZ for about 30 years...pretty sure he knows how the process goes and what is permitted and how to do his job much better than we do!

So, just give it time and have some faith. I don't think he will let us down!!

I would also say that part of this is strategy. I wouldn't point out these certain things with Jodi on the stand - then it gives her an opportunity to try and backpeddle and make it work. Let her repeat her claim multiple times and make it clear in the juries mind. Then, get an expert on the stand to disprove her. That will hold far more weight then JM saying it while going over 1,000 other details with her. I think he has to pick his battles when in front of her and then hang her later with her own words when he has his expert witnesses for rebuttal. I honestly think it will carry more weight coming from an expert than coming from the prosecutor. The jury knows that each attorney has their agenda and generally witnesses (except Jodi with her life on the line) don't have an agenda or a reason to lie, since they aren't incriminating themselves. I really think this is a matter of strategy. If you look at his history, he has dealt with similar cases with great pathological liars and won the ultimate sentences available (Wendy Adriano got DP and she behaved a LOT like Jodi is - Falater was the one that murdered his wife while "sleepwalking" and was an actor on the stand the whole time. Both took the stand and both lied continuously. He got the maximum sentence available for each...).

Time will tell, but I truly think he knows what he is doing and has a proven trackrecord. He is the states #1 go to guy for hard cases, he will make sure he covers his bases.

I agree completely. I think there is usually a kernel of truth in much of what she says.... albeit often a very small kernel.

She's the STAR. It's just her up there. There's no Nurmi, no Martinez. Just HER. She LOVES it.
