I am the one who speculated that she closed his eyes. It appears that his eyes are closed in the crime scene pics I've seen. (I could be wrong though.) As for the autopsy photos, I've never seen one of his face. But, the examiner could have opened them, right?

Doesn't really matter...I was just speculating is all...this was nothing that she admitted to.

ETA: yes, people do die with their eyes open. They call it the "death stare." It's very disturbing. :(

Just as you don't see the humor, others don't see the humor in the Jodi bashing. You make a great point this case is highly emotional, which makes a great example of why some humor can/is appropriate (my opinion, of course). Ever been to a funeral when you have been speaking of the deceased and start sharing funny stories and everyone busts out laughing? It's not disrespectful. Not saying you would think it is, just trying to come up with another example.

Your last two sentences are also great points that I was trying to express in my previous post. Except instead of being angry and lashing out, celebrating Travis' life in the way he lived; playful and caring.

As for the speculation; it's done on the daily with Jodi.

I'm trying not to come across as being argumentative here. Because I'm not trying to argue. I understand lashing out at Jodi. It is human nature. We want to protect the victim. I guess I'm playing devils advocate. I'm not the greatest with trying to express myself in type.

    Another drink?

That and the fact that no matter what is said, it cannot change the outcome of this trial and it doesn't change what happened. This is also why I don't like to speculate either. I understand the need to know and understand what happened but I find that you just end up going in circles, especially when the only two people who truly know what went down are dead and "forgetful". I think whilst the trial is going on and having to hear/see particularly gruesome details, it can be hard for people to see any humour where the victim is concerned. Same goes for celebrating his life. This is what I meant about his family, we see them most days looking absolutely distraught, angry and defeated at times. I think it will be easier for them to celebrate his life when they have justice. I commend them on being in that court everyday, it takes alot of strength.

I had a bunch of other stuff to say but it's almost 2am here and I'm not really seeing straight anymore so I think I'll pass on that drink
I can see points on both sides of this.
Just wanted to say how much I appreciate everyone respecting each others' opinions and discussing it like adults. Well done.

ETA: I just poured myself a glass of wine! Cheers!

Remember when someone made a comment about his penis and the hell that poster received? But, everyone is on the body shaming train for Jodi. I believe Travis would be offended that some people don't think Jodi deserves to eat or have sleep. I believe Travis would be offended by much more than what coconut posted.

Travis seemed like he had a good sense of humor. I truly believe he would appreciate the efforts of coconut to try to debrief with a little bit of humor. I don't believe the post was to disrespect, dehumanize, or discount Travis in ANY way. Of course his last moments were terrifying and painful. Travis was a religious man. If he is where his faith says he is, then I can see the portrayal going exactly like coconut displayed, in Travis' (hypothetical)words. I think Travis would find it somewhat comical while depicting the actual event. He seemed like he enjoyed skits, from viewing some of his PPL videos. I truly believe Travis would rather his friends, family, and other people who have been brought together over his tragedy, have a little fun, not be so serious, and show kindness to others.

He was obviously a good person in the whole scheme of things. I have my own opinion of who is was in the small scheme, but I also believe Travis knows these things as he knew he wasn't perfect. He helped Jodi without hesitation. He knew he didn't have to help her, but he was a good person. Like I said, in the whole scheme of things.

Also, as a person who has worked with death on the regular; through autopsies, emergency medicine, and organ donation, I can assure you there are inappropriate remarks made every single day. It is a human mechanism. It's a debrief. Sometimes the best way to get through a difficult time is to display some humor. I am guilty of this. I get in an uncomfortable situation and it's time to bust out a joke and/or be sarcastic. It doesn't mean I'm an asshole. It means I'm human.

My point to this whole ramble is I really don't believe Travis would be up in arms over the post. Of course, I didn't know him, but what I know of him, I think he would be more up in arms over the way Jodi has been treated. However, I do believe he would want justice. I'm saying I think he would be upset over, as a human being, she is being treated. This goes for all life, not just Jodi.

I am not a Jodi supporter, btw.

What happened? Her post offended people? How come?

Also, great post, Morbid. Too bad I just repped you.

You can die with your eyes open. It does happen.

Just like I don't blame anyone for using humour in this kind of situation, I can't fully blame people for saying nasty things about Jodi. It's a highly emotional case and it upsets some more than others. Their way of dealing with those emotions is to be angry and lash out at the person to blame. Human nature I guess.

Also I'm with you on the drink.
I don't like the shaming on either side. I don't think Jodi's privates were attractive, but that's what her's look like. Travis liked them so to me it's obvious that he hadn't seen enough to have truly judged hers. Anyone who has watched a porn knows they all look different. Just like Travis' privates look different than any other mans. It is what it is. I also do not think he would like anyone bashing on her.
HOWEVER, since I knew someone killed as brutally as Travis - I know people need some kind of outlet and Jodi and her DT have brought a lot of the hatred that is being spewed out because of their choice of defense and the evil, cruel and disgusting things they are saying about a guy who hurt Jodi yes, but also helped her anytime she needed it.

There is nothing humorous about this killing NOTHING. Imagine someone you love being killed in this kind of tragic way. Now imagine someone finding some joke that pokes fun at either one of the people involved. You would find nothing funny about it. My BFF was killed 18 years ago and I still cry for her and what was done to her. The man who killed her, there is nothing funny about him. He was as evil as Jodi. Nothing about her murder/personality/deficiencies would be funny to me. To each his own. Travis may very well have liked skits, and he may very well be in the heaven he believed in. But finding this humorous? I doubt it. I am more willing to bet he would rather be alive and living the life he was SUPPOSE to be living, instead of 6 feet under.

It was probably here that he tried to fight her off, hence the defensive wounds to his hands. Travis then stumbled or crawled to the sink where he coughed up blood. Arias then stabbed him to the head and back. He probably tried to defend himself here as well. He then turned and made his way to the door, collapsed and crawled to get away from her. She pulled his head back while he was on all fours and slit his throat, nearly decapitated him.

Arias probably coached Travis to sit down, so he would be even more vulnerable. She wanted him to bleed out in the shower. In other words, to put it bluntly "no mess, no fuss". BUT, she did not count on the fact that he would defend himself and get out. She now had to fight him to the death, otherwise, if he lived to tell, she would be behind bars. He got out, weak, wet and bleeding. He needed to get to his feet, but could not, due to slipping from a combination of water and blood pumping out of his chest wound and mouth. The only way he was able to get to his feet was to grab onto something and pull himself up. THE SINK. Whilst on his feet, she STABBED HIM IN THE BACK AND HEAD. He turned and ?ran?, collapsing halfway, she pulled his head back and slit his throat.

As he lay dying [or dead] she shot him in the head.

Her desire was to KILL him. The only problem came when she saw he did not die with the first chest stab.

Arias' goal was to plan and execute the perfect, premeditated murder. She would go to his house, soften him up, get him in the shower with water running, coerce him to sit and stab him in the heart. She hoped he would bleed out and die in the shower cubicle, that way the running water would have cleaned his body from dna, bodily fluids, etc. She would then leave immediately and get on with her alibi building ? calling and leaving texts.

She DID NOT COUNT ON TRAVIS GETTING UP AFTER THE FIRST STAB WOUND.

I hope this helps put things in perspective for those who asked. Travis posed willingly in the shower. Arias is not superwoman and in no way could she focus a camera [in one hand] whilst holding a knife/gun [in the other].
Well said. This is pretty much exactly how I believed it happened. This is based on all the evidence that has thus far been presented.

I am super confused as to why you've quoted me with these comments. Did you read the whole conversation regarding this issue? I was the one who was saying I found no humour in it, but I also said I understood the others here that could. Sorry if I offended you in some way?

If only it was common sense. She just described how she did it ALL BY HERSELF. But you don't want to believe her. The evidence says she did it by herself. You are just a broken record because you have NO argument.

I don't think that's entirely accurate. The blood on the sink was very dark and concentrated, and they would have known whether it was mixed with saliva or not. The fatal chest wound entered the heart and would most likely have made that blood splatter after the knife was pulled. Also if this happened in the shower, wouldn't there have been blood on the walls? The only blood was underneath him. We know she cleaned the body but I doubt she got in there with him to clean the walls too. I do agree that the rest of it is likely to be what happened.

ETA: I quoted your post because the other one is long and I try not to quote big posts so it doesn't take up more room than necessary.

No need to apologise, as we've seen previously it's easy to misinterpret tone through text. I get that you feel emotional over this case and have somewhat of a connection due to what you've experienced Also it's almost 3am now and I'm still here but not entirely coherent

    Two questions:

How do you account for the fact that the first stab to the heart was described as being from an upward angle rather than a downward angle by the ME?

How could she get a nice clean stab straight into his chest when he was sitting with his knees bent (which would block her access) plus his arms and shoulders up above the knees, possibly crossed over his knees?

Those two things are the reason I question that there is definitive PROOF that this first stab was when he was sitting in the shower.

Okay, Ron. Okay. It was the knife's fault. It flung itself at Travis, and began it's vicious attack. Jodi was so traumatized by seeing this knife do this, hence the PTSD type fog. ?? Now, we have her accomplice....the magical knife.

I think he didn't know how to deny the sexual attraction though. I think a lot of people who go into a relationship a virgin and that relationship isn't a good one, don't know how to get out. They are attached in that deep way that your "first" can only claim in your life.
I think it may also be his religion. If he truly was a virgin before her, and he was taught to wait until marriage for sex, he may have felt like he HAD to marry her once they had sex. I've seen it happen before.

But he can't be that dumb...I mean, really?!!!
Yesterday, when JM asked JA if she was able to get away from Travis, even though he was a wrestler in high school, Nurmi was nodding his big head yes to her! It was so obvious! I'm surprised no one there called him out on it.

Did Jodi try to kill herself after she shot Travis? A thought hit me after listening to her tell the Ninja Story on 48 hours again. She says the man & woman argued about whether to shoot her, and the gun jammed. Is there a chance she put the gun to her own head after killing him but it jammed or she couldn't go through with it?

00:27:44 But I didn?t see her stabbing him.

    00:27:47 He had some blood.

    00:27:48 All over the floor.

00:27:48 And there was some just coming down on his arms.

00:27:53 I started pulling on travis.

00:27:55 And I said, ?come on, come on, come on.

00:27:57 .. he finally just said, ? and then he said, ?i can?t ? >> Reporter: Before jodi could do anything to help travis, she says that she was suddenly outnumbered again.

00:28:09 >> The guy came back in and got really angry.

    00:28:11 .. I guess.

00:28:13 >> Eventually, he was holding the gun at my forehead.

00:28:22 They just kept arguing back and forth whether or not, you know, to kill me.

00:28:26 >> Reporter: It was a terrifying scene, and if what jodi says is true, what happened next is nothing short of a miracle.

00:28:37 >> He pulled the trigger.

00:28:39 And nothing happened with the gun.

00:28:43 And so, I just grabbed my purse, which was on the floor at that point, and i ran down the stairs and out of there and I left him there.

Thank you! I thought that was what I heard yesterday. Then I heard it on the news today and kept hearing the other thing, since it was put in my head. LOL
