His friends / witnesses bragging him up too much. He was no where near "devout" a "virgin" imo they are making a mistake building him up into too much white light imo. Who thinks this kind of 'joking' is normal? When did this horrific crime against innocent children become funny?
How many friends and family do we all have that EVER used child molestation for jokes? Would you want them at your child's events? Family picnics? Let them take your kid to the park?
If these same statements were found in a case of a child molester, like people wouldn't be saying OMG OMG?

I have friends that I talk to almost every day via email or Facebook and see sometimes in person, but don't have their physical address. one friend moves once or twice a year, so i have to ask for her address every year at Christmas. It was different years ago when we wrote letters more often, but nowadays, we keep in touch via email and social media, we don't always need a physical address until we want to send a card or a package.

I think it is possible the defense came up with the pedo stuff from those particular posts. I would think the gay route would be more believable than the pedo route. She could say he was using her for buttsecks to feel 'normal' because he was still having sex with a woman even if it was buttsecks.

My brother and his friends make a lot of gay jokes - they're all 28ish. On the other hand, one of their best friends is gay and they're all super supportive of him so I don't think that the jokes necessarily mean anything. Another thing that pops into my mind is that whole scene in 40 Year Old Virgin with Paul Rudd and Seth Rogan "You know how I know you're gay..."

When there is a gay in the group, gay banter is easier and accepted as playful. I have a ton of straight friends and I will be the only homo and they make comments all the time. It's very playful. Some of them will also make comments on my FB. I know they are joking and being silly.

My question is the banter between these two is ALL sexual innuendos. The communication I have with my straight friends is not all gay stuff. The gay banter is few and far between.

It can totally be innocent banter. I just find it a little weird it is the only subject they comment on.

I worked construction for 7 yrs before the economy took a shit. Union electrician, the guys were hillarious. I don't know how many times I heard one guy tell another, 'nice ass.' My first foreman would ask someone every day 'ya ever seen a grown man naked?' (from Airplane) It was all in good fun. I don't think pedo jokes are funny, but I think 90% of Travis' and Chad's posts to each other were taken out of context.
