And he apparently liked "chocolate cherries". Since he couldn't take the usual "pink cherry", he went for the chocolate cherry from behind.

This is true. What's the punishment for murdering a perfectly innocent butthole? (Keep in mind he definitely had an accomplice in Darryl the Old Guy as well)

Are we sure it was "perfectly innocent?"

Well, my thing is this. There really is no excuse to murder someone.
Unless you are in fear of your life , or you killed someone is self defense there really is no excuse for killing another human being. My brother was a super nice guy and they stuck it to him good.
That was his problem...he was a little TOO nice.
Travis does not seem like he was a bad guy. I don't see how you can say he was an "unlikable " person .
I mean, none of us really knew him. I don't know if i want to know every sordid detail of why my brother was stabbed.
I don't even care WHY anymore. It's not like it's going to bring him back. I never could understand why people ask why? In my eyes it's pretty much because whoever did it is a fucking loonie. That's all i care to know.

listen (everybody). i've been thinking a lot about this whole scene. i understand that sometimes women who are abused kill their spouses. i've worked with domestic violence before... taken several classes on it. my opinion came to be that women who are abused, WILL keep coming back, WILL bail their abuser out, WILL break restraining orders once the bruises heal (or before). eventually, they get get out - by killing, get out - by running and hiding, or get out - by killing.

women go back for various reasons. threat of death, ties to the person that are nearly impossible to break (children/finances), being susceptible to the charms during the peaks/general low self esteem, no other support (financially/mentally), doing what's 'best' for the children, cultural upbringing... in most of these cases, there is some documentation that a person is being/has been abused. there is SOMEONE who can come forward and say 'yeah, i was suspicious' or 'she told me about an incident.'

not the case with jodi. there hasn't been a single person who has made the case that jodi had such an abused past. nor has she.

smacked with a wooden spoon 4 - 5 times in a single 'beating'? i call that disciplin. maybe if she was hit with 40 lashings, i'd believe it. standard for me 10 swats with an open hand and my dad had huge hands and a whole lot of upper body strength.

1st boyfriend is possessive and jealous in high school? give me a break! that's what you want in high school... it means you're his. you ask him to fight for you if someone else is interested. it's not until you get older that you realize those are ass hole qualities.

2nd boyfriend is a drama queen vampire and gets physical and threatening in high school? that's your first taste of oh shit. you get out.

3rd boyfriend cheats. oh boo hoo. people cheat. especially at the end of a bad relationship.

4th boyfriend is an old man who is nice and kind and supportive. sure it's creepy, but hey. you're an adult.

5th boyfriend only wants you for sex? you gave it up honey. ever heard of the phrase buy the milk and not the cow? duh.

all of her so-called abuse is no-called abuse. it's called living. it's not anything millions of girls haven't gone through.

in any case, none of this points to someone who has been abused to a point that she feels her only recourse is to kill the person. none of it. for her to even try to paint that picture is an insult to the many women who have suffered horribly at the hands of a man and managed to pull themselves out of the situation. it's an insult to the women who still suffer the abuse and feel like there is no way out.

travis wasn't abusive. he was also used by her, manipulated. men can be manipulated too, you know. she gave him a new toy with conditions. he didn't like the conditions but really liked the new toy. can't blame him for that. sooooooo many girls go into a fuck buddy relationship hoping that one day he may see the light. he never does. and guess what? he's said time and time again that he doesn't want anything serious, and she said 'oh, that's ok. fine.' he chose to take her at her word.

i've seen this in friends, i've seen this in family, i've seen this in myself. it is a tale told over and over throughout history.

slashed tires? i supposed that's a red flag, but has any of it been proven? you really can't use that as a red flag when it could've been anyone.

I don't think anyone believes Travis was a saint. I think he was probably struggling. Without knowing the guy, it's hard to make a judgment call, but he did grow up in a crappy situation, where his parents couldn't care less about him. He probably was at least flattered by Jodi's attention, at the beginning.

I mean, here you are in a family where your parents probably really couldn't care less if you live or die; where they don't value you at all. Sure, he found Mormonism and tried to lead what he thought was an appropriate life, but then Jodi comes along and acts as though the sun rises and sets on Travis. Like he's the most important thing in her life. For once, he was the most important thing in someone's life?

Jodi's attention probably made Travis feel like he had some value. Even if it was bad attention; here was this girl who was so obsessed with him, that he was so important to. For a normal person, that would be setting off all kinds of warning bells. But, I think maybe with his upbringing, it was just not ringing those bells for him. It was a new experience.

Here was someone who apparently wanted to spend all this time with him, spend hours on the phone (allegedly), who wanted to know everything about him. She probably had some kind of hero-worship thing she was directing towards him. And, his ego ate it up. Now I don't mean that in a bad way. Growing up the way that he did, he probably didn't have much ego or self-esteem. But, I think we can all identify to a point. Having a person -- even though we're not interested in them -- displaying all this admiration and attention towards us. I don't think he knew what to do with it. I'm sure sometimes it felt odd, but it was making him feel good that here was this girl who was throwing herself at him, and driving hundreds of miles to see him.

She picked up her entire life and moved to Arizona after he dumped her. Travis was the center of her universe. I'm sure at some level, it was very flattering, with all of the negative attention growing up. And it's entirely possible that Jodi told Travis her little sob stories. How she was a victim of abuse by her boyfriends and parents; you know, trying to make him think they went through similar things. He probably did feel sorry for her. She may have threatened suicide as well; when he broke up with her, or at other times. Since he was trying to fix himself through religion, maybe he thought he could help fix her as well?

It is hard to imagine that a 30-year-old guy can be so naive, but it's possible, given his own upbringing. It does seem like he was struggling with his religion as well. It's my opinion that Jodi certainly used sex to get to him and try and control him. And if he was dating other women who were trying to remain chaste, someone like Jodi, who was offering up 3 holes, could've been a very tough temptation.

Travis was the perfect target for Jodi. As a normal young guy, no doubt sex was very frequently on his mind, religion or not. And he was not going to be able to get those urges fulfilled by the women he was dating. I think it's very easy for a skanky ho to manipulate a man who is sexually frustrated without many outlets to relieve it.

Mind you, I'm not saying that Travis was going to explode if he couldn't have sex. That was his choice to try and maintain for his religion. I think Jodi was bringing out his "bad boy" side. He knew he was supposed to act a certain way and not do certain things because of Mormonism, and trying to get his life straight. But, there's always this temptation, this thrill to misbehaving.

Was it leading her on? Maybe a little bit. But I think she was reading much more into it than was ever there. He tried to date her; less than 6 months; but it wasn't working. Not knowing about Mormonism and not being a very demure person myself, it's hard to identify with what he was doing and how he was acting. But, if he was a virgin when he met Jodi, I could see him giving in to the temptation for a while, acting out, then deciding he can't live that way and tried to re-devote himself to his faith.

I remember hearing -- I think it was Dr. Drew -- say that people who were abused and neglected like Travis was growing up, can fall into addictions, even sex addictions. Maybe that's what happened. He knew it wasn't right, but he kept giving in. He was trying to date the chaste Mormon girls because that's what he was "supposed to do", and he knew they weren't going to "put out", so it was easier. But, with Jodi serving up her holes on a silver platter, he couldn't say no.

It's not always easy to say no to a person who is bad for us. Some of us do better than others. Fortunately for most of us, it doesn't usually end up in murder.

right? everything she says may be a lie! until we find some of these people connected to the stories she tells, i can't believe a single word.

i hope advocate martinez can find and call bobby and victor. also, did matt get into any details of the bobby/jodi relationship, or did martinez not realize that would be the technique and skipped it? i missed that testimony.

She would show up many times unannounced and unwanted, as testified by Lisa and Mimi. IMO, he was too nervous to sleep that night, and the fact the sexy time did not begin until 1 p.m. he was not eager, in all liklihood was explaining he was moving on without her, until she finally seduced him to tire him out and get him in the shower eventually. She was running late for the murder but needed the opportunity and the surprise factor which finally came at 5:30. Now she is in a hurry to beat it before Enrique gets home. Hence a few incriminating pieces of evidence, thankfully!
my thought on her braided hairdo, is you don't want a bunch of hair in your face when your are going to heinously murder someone!

Absolutely. I think her arrival time -- in the middle of the night -- was intentional on her part. 4am is dark, the neighbors are asleep, Travis' roommates are probably asleep. She knew she could sneak in the doggie door, as she had many times before. With dark hair and a rented car, even if someone saw her flee the scene, they wouldn't recognize her.

I bet she thought she could do this all under the cover of darkness, but Travis screwed up her plans because he wasn't having it. He didn't want to have sex when she got there. So, she had to bide her time.

I think it's particularly insidious that she didn't just kill him, but she waited to have sex with him one last time. Was that to tire him out? Probably, but also because she wanted to screw him one last time. She waited, she risked screwing up her plan and getting caught because she was so obsessed with him that she had to have him one last time before she killed him. Doesn't that say a little something extra about the kind of crazy she was?

It was beyond horrible that she butchered him. But, in her demented little mind, she was not satisfied with that, she had to have sex, she needed to possess him one last time and make sure of the fact that he died as "hers".

idk?? they still have matt and and her friends on witness list - and matt said he couldn't post on the jodi innocent page because of this - maybe they want her to tell her story first so her "friends" testimonies can be created around her facts and make her look like less of a liar since it seems she isn't following nurmi's script and they don't know whats going to come out of her mouth???

Every. Word. Of. This. Animosity, awesome! Yes, I was in a relationship where I knew he didn't care about me the way I cared about him. I was 5 years younger and way in over my head. There were times I would call just to see if he was home, if he answered, I hung up. That was before caller id. Looking back, I may have been a little stalker girl myself. Is he still alive? Yes, he is. We're friends on FB. I moved on eventually.

But, Matt did post on the Jodi is innocent -- site. He has proudly said he will lie for Jodi. I won't believe anything he says.

Still catching up on the thread but omg she actually is testifying!!! Brilliant! Personally I think she's coming across as a stupid doormat who doesn't have her own personality or sense of self which doesn't gel.

I'll wait for the phone sex tape to be played in court. It's my opinion that Travis will be seen in a less than favorable light, himself.

I was surprised by what I learned because all I had heard about him in the past was that he was the greatest guy on the planet. It seems that was not so. I have said before that I probably would not have liked him because he was a bit of a ladies man and he seemed more focused on money, power and prestige than anything else. The truth is, he was not a saint. However, he also was not a total douchebag as witnessed by the many friends and family members who loved him very much.

OK, so that's Travis. Like most of us, somewhere in the middle between saint and sinner. In other words, completely normal.

However, some people seem to want to imply that he deserved what he got (or "should have known better") for treating Jodi badly. The fact is, we don't really know how he treated Jodi, we have only her word for it. And he "should have known" she was going to go all psycho stabby on him? Really? Who predicts that kind of thing?

Who among us have not made decisions that, in retrospect, are bad ones? I have probably almost died several times over for the stupid decisions I have made. Should I have known better? Maybe, but the fact is, at the time I made the decisions, I DID NOT. Hindsight is 20/20, as they say. Then also, judge not lest ye be judged.
I still do not understand everyone saying "He didn't deserve to die, BUT..." You know when I was growing up, and had to apologize to people, my parents always used to tell me that an apology is an apology alone. If you follow it with "but" it negates everything you just said. Therefore when I hear/see people saying, "he didn't deserve to die, BUT..." It completely negates everything they are saying previous to that post about them being upset he died. It's bullshit if you ask me. How do we know Travis was a dick? Because he treated Jodi poorly? According to whom? JODI. The person that killed him brutally. There are a FEW witnesses that think Travis treated Jodi poorly at random times. Most of whom agreed that their relationship was a NORMAL relationship and they treated each other like any other NORMAL couple. Everyone has asshole moments, doesn't mean he was an abusive raping asshole. Was he smacking her around in public? No. Was he telling everyone she was just a fuck buddy? No. Was he keeping her secret? Sure... Do you know how many kids/people I knew growing up who were having sex 'secretly?' LDS members, mostly, and we only knew because we weren't elders of the church/members ourselves. IT HAPPENS, frequently. Travis was not the only person in the world to have a fuck buddy, and it is no where near his fault that SHE didn't know where the lines crossed. I'm so sick of hearing "He was a dick. She's a fucking c-word that offed a guy because he didn't wanna marry her. It's bullshit. I think we all need to take a look at who is making the allegations here: Jodi, Desiree (who was a sheltered teenager), and that's all I really count as testifying Travis was a jerk. Desiree's brother said they fought but their relationship was NORMAL. Lisa stated that he did some jerk things, but he still treated her with respect. I don't see how he was a dick. Still doesn't matter if he was one anways.

people often have sex with ex's because it's comfortable. my mom told me the other day (while we were discussing jodi) that pops got her back in the sack once after they were divorced because she was lonely and he was being a nice guy. the next time he came around, he was back to the same old ass hole. no more nookie for him. that didn't keep him from being an abusive ass hole, for those of you wondering... it made it worse. (to those saying the cut off method diminishes the problem!)

truth - although, if i was on the jury i would choose the lesser murder because i don't believe in the DP period. i'm glad there is that option in this case.

No. Fucking. Way. Travis was an arrogant, money hungry, not a good mormon, horny dude. He was NOT a murderer. Jodi is. It makes me hate her even more that she's going to butcher him and then turn around and say HE was the murderer here, not her. This is why she deserves death. She shows no remorse whatsoever, and is putting his family through this hell, and calling her VICTIM the murderer.
    so. much. this.

nothing at all indicates that he was an abuser, let alone a murderer. fuck that shit. super lie.

if i wanted to have sex but wasn't allowed, i'd make damn sure it was outside of my community. i would expect girls to come out of the woodwork to claim their fame. not. even. one.

BOTH Travis and Jodi are unlikeable people. These two had the misfortune of meeting each other and engaged in a deadly dance together. Travis seemed to think he could treat most women like shit and never be held accountable for it.
i haven't seen anyone testify that he treated them like shit. even the girl who said his erection made her uncomfortable and he grabbed her butt said he stopped when asked. just because he was a horny guy to a very innocent mormon girl doesn't mean he treated her like shit.
