I think TA got to fly his freak flag with JA. That was his attraction. But she wanted him see something special inside her that she couldn't because of her low self image.
They had different agendas.
And she couldn't get him wrapped around her finger like those other dudes. He was the dangling carrot, so to speak.
She became addicted.
So she worked harder to get him i.e. stalked, sexed, and he became addicted to the sex.
And it became a vicious cycle.
That's what I think happened

Your post might have come across wrong only because it seemed like you were expecting someone else to get the facts for you. No worries...MDS seems to me to be a place where lots of opinions are welcome. (I'm still really new, but that is the vibe I get.)

I'm just now seeing this and haven't read up to see if someone has beat me to it. You are right. MDS is not webslueths or some other kind of detective forum. People do research and provide info to get a better understanding of cases. Opinions are allowed and so are theories and speculation. It creates a discussion. Imagine that. A discussion forum for discussions. This case has brought many new members (which is freaking awesome, btw) from other boards that are more strict, from what I've heard. I don't belong to other forums, but will read a link to other forums if/when other members provide them.
Anyway, the point of my ramble is you are right. We like to have a good time, too. One of the mechanisms of dealing with death, dying, horrible crimes, etc., is interjecting with some fun. It doesn't make us less human, heartless, or have a lack of compassion. It's a mechanism.
I hope, when I die, people have many, many laughs at my expense. I don't want people fussing over me. Have a great time, make fun of all the stupid things I've done, make some new jokes, come up with some great one-liners, just have a good time. Not that this has anything to do with this particular case. Just putting it in 'writing.'

Yes, he was a jerk. I don't care what his friends say about him. Everyone who knew Jodie also said good things about her. The point is he used her. I am not talking about before the breakup, i am talking about after the breakup. You say most men are jerks, not when they have their tires slashed and have a dangerous stalker lurking. He knew she was obsessed with him , he knew he was playing a dangerous game with her. No one in their right mind would play games with someone who is obsessed and showing stalker signs. A "factual based style" is certainly not unwelcome. However, it's difficult to gauge people on the internet without other social cues, so your posts may not come off the way that you intend them and could cause unintended offense. For example, I read your earlier post as that you did not believe what Turtlebcrazy posted and that you wanted her to prove what she said (but did not believe that she could). I guess that's not how you intended it to read, but that is how it read to me. You might consider putting something at the end, such as, "It's not that I don't believe you or think that you are lying, I would just like to see the stats. Thanks!". Just a thought.

This is just my 2 cents: I don't think I can believe anything Jodi says. I don't think you can trust her to describe their relationship with honesty, b/c the truth is, Jodi looked at the relationship a lot different than Travis did. She seen or believed what she wanted to believe.

This is EXACTLY the reason why I joined here. I follow this thread at the same time I'm watching the live stream of the trial and literally LOL. You HAVE to add humor to death, insanity and terrible crimes by evil people. In no way does humor take away the seriousness of it all- heck, that's why we all spend and invest so much time focusing on cases like this, right? Because we want JUSTICE.

I personally don't care if Travis smacked her in the face that day and called her a big 3-hole wonder Pollyanna skank. She OVERKILLED him. Why not just leave? By Arizona's own definition of the self-defense law-This is not it.
Now, I would have pity for Jodi IF...Travis beat her up, Jodi stabbed him once, then ran outside to call the police.
That's not what happened. Jodi overkilled him, tried to cover it up, got rid of evidence, then lied and left his body there for days. I can also say, there is evidence that she planned his murder beforehand.

It bothers me also that she got her freak on with Travis a couple of times, killed him brutally, then drove more miles to get her freak on with another guy. When I think of Jodi, I think "cold blooded murderer"

I feel guilty because I called Travis a douche canoe the other day. Truth is I think he was a jerk to Jodi sometimes. I like the "douche canoe" and thought I'd use it. . He was egotistical, just read his blog. But that's no reason to kill someone. Especially the way Jodi murdered Travis.

I realize the defense has to put up some kind of defense for what Jodi did, but her life in no way was worse than Travis'. I would have more respect if they said she was insane. Unfortunately, I doubt she ever went to therapy, so no basis for that defense. I hope she rots in prison and has flashbacks to the life he could have had if she was not such a freakin nutjob.

I admit that earlier in the thread, I was interested in knowing more about Travis. I was surprised by what I learned because all I had heard about him in the past was that he was the greatest guy on the planet. It seems that was not so. I have said before that I probably would not have liked him because he was a bit of a ladies man and he seemed more focused on money, power and prestige than anything else. The truth is, he was not a saint. However, he also was not a total douchebag as witnessed by the many friends and family members who loved him very much.

OK, so that's Travis. Like most of us, somewhere in the middle between saint and sinner. In other words, completely normal.

However, some people seem to want to imply that he deserved what he got (or "should have known better") for treating Jodi badly. The fact is, we don't really know how he treated Jodi, we have only her word for it. And he "should have known" she was going to go all psycho stabby on him? Really? Who predicts that kind of thing?

Who among us have not made decisions that, in retrospect, are bad ones? I have probably almost died several times over for the stupid decisions I have made. Should I have known better? Maybe, but the fact is, at the time I made the decisions, I DID NOT. Hindsight is 20/20, as they say. Then also, judge not lest ye be judged.
