They already determined earlier (mistrial request number one) that the detective actually did believe he was shot first at that time. It's been since proven he was actually stabbed first.

That's what I was also thinking. Sounds like this interview was really close after Travis' body was found. Probably had to wait a while for the autopsy report and the ruling that he was stabbed first. IDK?
