Neither of those things says guilt to me. What they should have done was lawyered up from the start, in which case they wouldn't be talking to police at all. They are completely within their rights to do that, particularly if police are focused on them instead of looking for the baby (if they are innocent). What police call cooperating and others call cooperating may not be the same thing. As far as the drinking, she says she frequently drinks after the kids are in bed, so stupid as it may be, it sounds like it might be her normal routine and not proof of anything but alcoholism.
