Before I head off to sleep I will say that I have seen this "Killlll the BITCH" thing happen once before. I was about 10 when this was happening to Lindy Chamberlain. Maybe it's those memories that make me cringe now. I remember vividly, my mother arguing viciously that "any idiot can SEE she's guilty because she never cries". Women across Australia spoke of NOTHING else for months, years maybe, I know it seemed to go forever. There was no social media obviously & I can't imagine how much worse it could've been even if there was.
People had social gatherings just so they could bitch about Lindy & how evil she was. It was insane, there were rumours the babies name meant "sacrifice" & they took her to the rock to spill her blood as an offering to the Seventh Day Adventist Church. Even now - when her name has been CLEARED & there have been so many confirmed dingo attacks on kids, not infants, KIDS, even now they refuse to accept they were wrong. (& yes any visitors from the big thread, I know Jodi admitted it, I'm using it as an example of an extreme public reaction, not guilt or innocence)..
