I hope that when the world comes to an end, I can breathe a sigh of relief, because there will be so much to look forward to. - Donnie Darko
SO META.
i cannot believe all the assholes who think this would have worked out better if another person had opened fire in response. Yes, because in a smoke-filled, dark theater filled with civilians in a panic trying to flee, a shootout will go swimmingly.
At least 24 people were being treated at Denver area hospitals. The youngest victim reported was a 6-year old being treated at Children's Hospital Colorado, where a total of six victims were taken. Their condition wasn't known.
This poor little kid is screwed for life. All his batman figurines need to be removed immediately. Who takes a 6yr old and an infant baby at an R-rated movie in the middle of the night? I guess it is better than leaving your kids at home while you go score some crack.
RIP people.
Dumb, selfish parents. But I'm pretty sure those kids won't associate it with Batman and probably had no idea what was going on.
I would bet that he was all excited about going to see the movie, he is a boy. A masked man comes in with a shot gun and rifle open fire. Blood and guts and dead people everywhere while watching batman. Yep, he knew what was going on. He will never forget it. One girl interviewed on Today said there were guts everywhere......omg
My 12 year old son said: "Man, if I was that kid I would never watch a Batman movie again, especially that one"
Poor kiddo.
I just rushed here after seeing it on the news to see if there was a thread. What a crazy. I don't understand what possesses people to do shit like this. I can watch movies and play video games just fine without feeling like I need to murder people.
This guy would have been crazy regardless. The media didn't push him to murder, the easy access to automatic weapons did.
I am getting defriended and called callous on facebook over my response to this which is only fueling worse and worse sarcastic comments from me.
The funny thing is I wasn't being offensive at all. There is no way this isn't meta irony.
You got defriended??
This guy is obviously a freak. My initial thought was that this had nothing to do with the movie as much as he it just batshit insane. But with all this joker talk, I am starting to think he was more than insane.. fool is living on another plane.
Also, Jack Nicholson was the best Joker ever.
Dude has a case of the crazy eyes.
But honestly, what assholes take their 3 month old to a movie? Especially the midnight showing of a premier? It's not like the kid is going to sleep through it, especially since it's a loud ass action movie. Wait until you have a babysitter or for the dvd to come out.
I can somewhat get older kids being there, if they are huge fans and are with their parents. It's summer, so it's not like they have school the next day. But 3 month old babies don't even like Batman. That's a dick move for the kid as well as the other patrons who have to sit next to it.
There's also this guy. Apparently he was helping people, so was probably in shock and not quite thinking about what he was saying, but damn that's uncomfortable to watch. Scumbag media tries to jump on every survivor before the dust settles and then they get these kind of interviews:

I'm gonna have to agree with this link. Hell, if my kid had wanted to go to the midnight movie, and was totally totally in love with Batman, I may have taken her. "Whats a 3 month old doing there?" Like the parents knew what was going to happen??
