I don't understand why there should ever be valet at a hospital period, if you have trouble walking they usually have trams or shuttles that pick you up. Seriously, who is feeling fancy at a hospital?
And at this hospital, they don't have a garage parking lot. So because I didn't have the stroller, I had to walk a mile to get to the emergency room, while carrying a chunky butt in my arms the whole time. The valet guy wouldn't even look at me when I walked by him.

That is total bullshit. I'd make a complaint or at least inquire if you can make a complaint.DTTAM: The NRA. I've bitched about their telemarketing calls (Thought it was scammers, but the NRA just told me it really was them?! Way to make me want to be AGAINST gun rights to stop the harassment.). I emailed them to let them know about the phone call I get every day, 7 days a week, and how it is some rude fuckers trying to get money that is supposedly donations for the NRA. I told them in the email that the lady told me I could only stop the call if I donated $10, and that I didn't have any urge to donate any money to them. Here is their reply email:

Is there any chance you might have eaten listeria contaminated cantaloupe? Most people just get sick from listeria, the ones who die are vulnerable, like compromised immune systems and whatnot. The illness can last a week or so.

She woke up with a 101.9 fever this morning and it freaked me out because she was zoning in and out of sleep. I took her to the er because it was 6:30 in the morning, the doctors office wasn't open yet and I was trying to make it into work today. She has a viral and bacterial infection and it looks like it's getting into her lungs, which means she has a slight case of pneumonia.
Girl, I would because I'm like that but it was blocked off with cones that read "VALET ONLY". I think it's bullshit too, mostly because they blocked off the children's entrance. I mean, I would feel bad if it was blocked off for adults too but I think it's worse doing it to the little babies.

Luckily it's not that bad yet and she was able to get medicine to treat the infection right away. She's doing a lot better since the fever went down.

Huh. We have valet parking at the hospital here in town, but it's a free service. Very handy. They park your car when you arrive, and when you are ready to leave they'll either fetch your car or give you your keys, with a tag indicating where your car is. Your choice. You can tip if you like, but you're not required...
There was a sign on the front of their valet stand that said the price was $7.00. I like your hospital a lot better.

FML. After five years, my pirated office program committed suicide. So I ran to Staples to buy a new one. Got lucky, it was mislabeled for cheaper and they honored it. So I bought cupcakes for everyone because I'd been in like crazy bear rage mode. No one wants my cupcakes.
