I don't know where to post this. I just found out an active member of my church has died in a car accident. I'm not sure how he was killed, but one of the community police scanner pages that I follow on Facebook, a poster posted that an elderly man was hit and killed on the interstate while he was trying to retrieve a ladder. I'm putting 2 + 2 together and assuming it was him.

Yes. He was going to his second home to check on damages after Hurricane Irma. A ladder fell out of his truck, he went back to retrieve it (being the good Samaritan), and was struck and killed by an elderly man.

We're all missing him terribly. 😢
