From Reddit -
I was walking down the street with my husband. A little bit down the street, and on the other side, was a hotel. The bottom 5 or 6 floors of the hotel consisted of a parking garage. There was some commotion going on at the hotel. A woman was making a lot of noise.. I can't remember the details, but it was an unusual sound so the noise attracted my attention.
To my horror, a woman suddenly fell about 5 stories from the building and onto the street.
I couldn't believe my eyes. My first thought when seeing the woman appear was that she was just a life-sized doll, and someone was pulling a prank on passerbys. I was expecting to get interviewed for some stupid reality tv show.. But, no, no tv crew appeared.
There were a handful of other witnesses, who all looked horrified. One of them called the police, as did the hotel concierge. My husband and I stuck around in case they needed eye witnesses. We didn't get close to the body at all, we stayed on the other side of the street. I didn't ever see her face. She seemed really young, maybe in her early 20s. She had bright pink hair, with a small patch of purple or blue (I can't remember now).
I keep thinking about the incident and want to reach out to the reddit community to see if anyone heard about this, knew the girl, or had any other thoughts about it. I've never seen anyone die before in real life, it's truly disturbing.
(I've kept some of the details out, just in case. Also, not sure if I should even be sharing this info at all, but I don't think there was any foul play.)
UPDATE: since the question has come up, and I suppose I'm being overly cautious for no reason, I will post the location of the incident: it took place in Seattle.
I also want to say thanks to everyone that has commented on this post. It's been really helpful for me to hear your thoughts and share my experience with you.
UPDATE 2: my husband and I are heading out, going to try to go take our minds off of everything. Thanks again for all the comments. I really appreciated them all.
UPDATE 3: RIP Meagan Bly :( :( :( http://www.reddit.com/r/Seattle/comm..._71412_at_4pm/
UPDATE 4 I have removed most of the details of the incident out of respect for Meagan, her family, and friends.
