3 killed, 1 injured in mass shooting in Prospect Hill, NC

A shooting Wednesday at a home in North Carolina left three people dead, including the suspect, and another person injured, authorities said.

Caswell County deputies responded to a call for service just before 8 a.m. at a home on Brooks Road in Prospect Hill, the State Bureau of Investigation said in a news release.

Deputies found multiple gunshot victims. One person was taken to the hospital in an unknown condition.

The identities of the victims and suspect have not been released. Sheriff Tony Durden said at a news conference that everyone involved is an adult and belongs to the same family.

they went to the police yesterday for help and they told them to come back today if there was still an issue that they were busy pretty much from what I understand.. so yeah today came but they didn't have a chance to go back and I'm not sure if anyone called police when it was happening or not .. it is such a tragic and sad situation..

Sounds like murder/suicide within a family, just not sure if it was the dad or son that carried out the shootings. Or even mom, you never know.

A family member told ABC11 that a dispute about family property may have led to a shooting that left three people dead and a fourth hospitalized Wednesday morning in Caswell County.

A family member told ABC11 that the shooting stemmed from a dispute among siblings over more than 150 acres of land following the death of their parents.

The family member and another source also said those involved had previously contacted law enforcement because of the disagreement before the tragic events Wednesday.

However, Durden said investigators have found no evidence that the family had contacted his office before Wednesday's shooting.
