    Douglas Petty (39) found dead- was missing since 6/12/2026 from Liberty, NC

    GUILFORD COUNTY, N.C. — Deputies with the Guilford County Sheriff’s Office are searching for a missing man.

    Deputies said Douglas Petty, 39, was last seen on June 12 around 11 a.m. He was leaving the Oakdale Mill Road area at the time.

    This says he has been missing since June 12 but he has posts on FB from June 15 and 16. Guess that's not always proof of life but...

    A man who was reported missing in Guilford County was found dead on Thursday and police are investigating his death as a homicide, according to the Greensboro Police.

    At around 1 p.m. on Thursday, officers came to the 1400 block of Dorsey Street to assist the Guilford County Sheriff’s Office with a report of suspicious activity.

    At the scene, investigators found a dead person who was later identified as 39-year-old Douglas Keith Petty.
