We Didn't Start The Fire

Talk about any and all wildfires here.

Brantley County, Georgia:

My county just got put under a state of emergency. Yippee. The winds are expected to start blowing our way on Saturday and Sunday. My friend lives in Brantley County, and the road leading to her house is under mandatory evacuation. I really hope for her sake that her house is spared.

Someone posted a conspiracy theory that Brantley County recently said no to having a data center and that's why Brantley County is on fire. This world is so nuts, I wouldn't be surprised if it's true.

Lastly, is cloud seeding a real thing? People are asking why the government isn't seeding clouds to make it rain.

it's real but unfortunately your state isn't one of the states that does it. and I think there has to be clouds in the first place.

We will definitely leave with our cat if necessary.
My husband thinks we'll be okay. He doesn't think the fire will jump I-95.

Be vigilant but don't panic. Have a go bag ready. In 2019 we had wildfires in the forest across the street from us. It was unnerving but they know how to fight it. Having I-95 between you helps. I think you will be ok but just keep an eye out.

Please be careful CC and leave if you think you need to. As noted before, CA has some of the gnarliest wildfires out there and they can move very quickly depending on the wind factor. Keep us updated!

Stay safe! And do as others suggested - pack everything up you need, including important documents in a fire resistant safe if you have one. It can't hurt to be ready just in case!
