I have changed my mind a couple times in this thread and I'll probably be shocked if/when the truth of it all comes out. My first thought was that someone coughfrootloopcough took the body because if he couldn't have her in life why by golly he was going to have her in death. But then I realized I watch too much Criminal Minds and he is no genius.

Then my thoughts went to the funeral home cremating her too early but I've heard no stories of any other bodies disappearing or lingering beyond their do-date. And I don't see the funeral home calling the police so quickly if they knew it was their employee's mistake or negligence. So that line of thinking is gone too.

And if it had been an employee who wanted to hit the bars early and took the wrong body because he didn't verify that he had the right one, there'd be one too many bodies still there (minus the missing one) when the authorities showed up.
I'm assuming someone counted and IDed the remaining deceased folk the day this all began.

So only one is missing and none were still there that should've been gone. Much as I hate to think it (or rethink it) I'm back to someone removing her body as a possibility. The who and why is baffling. No one just takes a complete stranger like that. It has to be someone with some tie to her. And that takes me full circle back to some one frootloopy. What a mess.

My Mother passed away a year ago, my Dad a couple years earlier and I know how unsettled and upset I'd be if this had happened to us. They both reside in my back bedroom in a place I set up for them. It's creepy yes but I have peace in knowing where they are. It is my closure until they are placed in a family plot next summer.

No matter what the truth ends up being, her family needs that closure too and it truly sucks that they can't have it.

"The deceased never leave our care"????? Please tell me that is not a motto or advertising quote from that specific funeral home. That's just horrible. smh. I would never use a funeral home, day care, garage etc, that had to advertise that they weren't going to lose my loved one or my possession.

Another question, does anyone know how many times this specific funeral home has messed up? I couldn't get thru all the court document crap Heartbroken posted, it was too messy to read. Also, how badly can a funeral home actually mess up? I would expect the utmost competence from them. Its not like they have multiple tasks or services to perform. They only have to do a couple of routine things and they do those things often enough to be good at it (youd think) so how can they mess up that bad?

I think this is the most baffling aspect of the case for me. I still can not believe something like this happened. If that had been my child, I would absolutely fucking lose it. Like Britney Spears freaking out losing it.

Yes, I just made a Britney reference.
The older I get, the better I understand.

But seriously guys, WTF already?! I hope Crazy-pants is under surveillance. It is so beyond disturbing that on top of being grief stricken and losing a loved one, now we have to worry about them not being safe in the very place we entrust to be their final stop on earth?! It's disgusting.

Yeah they do. There's one case linked here in the thread already. There are people that trawl obituary photos the same way others trawl porn. Most of them don't require a personal connection as long as the deceased girl fits their "type"

The only reason that case is linked at all is because the little slimes fucked up . When these creeps get it right - ie - wait until after the funeral & burial is over & cover their tracks (& the grave), no-one even knows there was a crime. IF someone like this was involved in Julie's disappearance, they couldn't wait to perform a secret disinterment for her - that wasn't possible in her case because there was never going to be a burial.

With that long, long list of people who would've had access to that funeral home, & the type of people the industry sometimes attracts, police really can't say they've definitely ruled out every current & former employee - they just can't. & if security is as lacking as it appears to be, they can't rule out some random creeper who saw Julie's picture or even some other employee with a peripheral connection to the business.

IF something like that has happened I just hope the behaviour of a certain person hasn't irrevocably altered the direction of the investigation & prevented the truth ever being known

^good exploratve thinking. It's hard to actually express that train of thought because we inherently want to ignore and not entertain that aspect. This is why I love these online forums.

You don't get to hang a sign that says "We're not responsible for lost personal items" when those "personal items" is your deceased family member
They are entirely responsible. You make the point with the second bolded phrase. I don't understand how anyone can defend the funeral home.

This. I also don't understand why the family would even use the funeral home to begin with due to the history they have with Dick Tips. Didn't Julie's dad work for DT and was fired or something?

OMG! Are you serious!? And they continue to use that motto!?

    A few things:

Julie's brother said the family regrets using the funeral home. And, judging by a conversation between Jon and Bill and this thread, unpleasant words were exchanged between Dick Tips and the family at one of the searches. So I don't think it's safe to assume everything is hunky-dory between them. But it seems the family is satisfied with evidence collected by police that shows this was not an accidental/early cremation.

I think most people here agree the funeral home is responsible for not keeping their building and its contents secure, but we still want to figure out what happened as a result of that.

The lawsuits: Berm gave a really good explanation for what some of that stuff likely means. Bill gave no explanation, he just wanted to shock everyone with the volume of it. "Look at all these lawsuits, ERMAHGERD!"

But it's funny ... he offered no explanation for what any of it meant. Notice he didn't say, "OMG look how many times they've lost bodies or misplaced cremains!" Or, "Look at all the accidental cremations!" I wonder why that is, haha.

Crematory laws all over the country have changed drastically since the Tri-State Crematory insanity. It's been mentioned a few times in this thread, but it is a very extreme case unlike anything else that's ever happened. I don't think it's a good comparison here. Ray Brent Marsh is a very disturbed individual (he claims he has mercury poisoning from the crematory, I dunno).

As far as the funeral home having a knee-jerk reaction to the missing body and immediately reporting her missing ... the police didn't announce to the public for three or four days that Julie's body was missing from the funeral home. So even if the funeral home had a knee-jerk reaction, I'm comfortable saying the police did not.

    That's all for now :)
    Hope you are feeling better!

It seems like the family has accepted the funeral homes excuses though. Like, they were pissed, but accepted LE's findings that it wasn't a funeral home mess up, when it was. It doesn't matter if someone snatched Julie's body. The funeral home is at fault. I don't understand how the family can be "satisfied" with the investigation. Maybe the funeral home didn't accidentally cremate her, but they did lose her.

My earlier point regarding the lawsuits was to show "character" or "integrity." A list of lawsuits that long doesn't give the impression the funeral home provides personal care or assistance. And, that was just a list of lawsuits. I haven't checked to see if they are a member of the BBB, but if they have a crap ton of lawsuits, they probably have a long list of complaints that didn't result in lawsuits. I'm just saying they lose credibility and my confidence in taking care of my loved one. Does that make sense?

Morbid- most of those lawsuits involved stuff related to child support orders and car accidents. There was also a few about emergency court hearings.

Not saying I'm 100% right, but I thought some of those child support orders could be the courts issuing support orders on an employee that works there. Car accidents- probably different employees at different times got into accidents.
The few about emergency court hearing could be families fighting over who's the next of kin and who has rights to the body. My mom and I went through the same exact thing with my brother's body. We had to file an emergency hearing just to be declared my brother's next of kin....to keep his ex from interfering in the arrangements. (I touched on this much deeper in an earlier post after heartbroken posted all the filing against the funeral home)
Basically, we claimed the body, then she tried to override our arrangements. The funeral home had to freeze all arrangements until the court awarded us next of kin. (we actually had to pay to get his divorce papers)

BUT yes, If I were Julie's family....I would sue the shit out of that funeral home. They are fully responsible.

It's just creepy that there may be a somebody sick enough to take this poor girl's body. It's just evil.

Ohhhhh, I get it. I think I missed some posts. When I click on the thingy, it brings me to "today's" posts and not the last read post, so I have to try to back track. I get it now.

I still don't like this funeral home though.

Do you remember the "bad blood" between Dick Tips and the family (possibly Julie's dad) before Julie passed? Was there discussion on what that was about? I'm trying to remember and also why they family decided to use Dick Tips services if there was a history of "bad blood."

The family has been living in a house that I found them after they were forced to vacate the house they were renting from Dick Tipps when Julie's father was termed.

Dick was losing his ass (no pun intended) on repairing a plane while in the process of building a hanger... so he fired most of his staff outside of the funeral home business.

The family never spoke well of him... but now that I know how they felt about me... who knows. Maybe he was an okay guy... an okay guy who had a habit of cutting corners.

I've spoken to several lawyers, private investigators, internal affairs and have conducted weeks of my own research and it all leads to me thinking that we'll never see an end to this. The BCSO is one of the most corrupt organizations in Texas and the economy in San Antonio is so shitty.... even if I had finite proof that those fucktards lost her body, it wouldn't matter.

It's obvious to me that even her family doesn't give a shit about finding out what actually happened.... or they just don't have what it takes do anything about it.

Regardless of what I think, I truly hope the best for Charlotte . I'm completely lost without Julie and I miss her very very much. I've been a complete mess and can only imagine what her mother is going through. Her mother was so caring and sacrificed so much so that Julie could live a normal life.

As for the others.... it only speaks volumes as to how they treated her when she was alive.

As for me.....I'm moving on with my life the way she would have wanted me to.

I'm am however going to file a request for an inquisition with the funeral homes licensing board first thing in the morning.... it's absolutely appalling that I have to be the one to do it at this point but I have to.

I've written it and erased it about three times now so ....bit'll definitely be done thoroughly.

Yeah, you'd best hope if you need assistance from LE that you are not in Blount County, Texas.

Bill, why haven't you shared the news you received yesterday with everyone? You know, the news that the detectives are going to be turning the cases over to the DA's office soon. And that an arrest warrant will be issued. Do yourself a favor, cut a deal now. You'll probably just get probation for a class A misdemeanor considering your only prior is for weed.

Unless they've found her, I don't understand how they could have a warrant out for his arrest. Unless the arrest is for something unrelated. That's my bet. And although I feel for Julie's Brother, to make it look like he's being busted for doing this and boasting about it makes me think even more that the Family has tunnel vision and all they care about is him being busted. Not about getting to the bottom of what happened.

I don't think they need a body to arrest him.
It's possible they have evidence we don't know about

Perhaps there was evidence found when they did the searches. Maybe his lost cell phone got found and had evidence on it.

Heartbroken is obsessed. He treated Julie poorly and the family has every right to hate him and I don't see what the brother said as boasting. He's just telling us what the detectives evidently told him. Just what do you expect from the family to get to the bottom of this? They can form any opinion they please and they know Heartbroken and Tips far better than any of us.

All I'm saying is that short from either video evidence (which we've determined they don't have) or a body in his possession or found with evidence from him on it...where's the proof?

And yes, her Family popping on to MDS and airing it out makes me question the validity. Not to put us down intentionally, but I'm sure LE would dissuade people from posting ACTUAL sensitive info here.

I tend to cut her family more slack than Heartbroken. To be honest he's pushing a pretty clear agenda himself, painting himself as a lovelorn hero kept from her by her evil uncaring family when in fact he seems to have been abusive and she wanted him to go away. I wish he'd respected her wishes and left her alone. And I've no real doubt that were she able to speak now she'd ask him to go away yet again. She did not love him, she went home to be with those she loved and who loved her and he is still forcing himself into her life (and now death).

I hope her family finds their closure. My opinion on all this changes too frequently for my liking. I have no clue what happened but I hope it all ends soon for her loved one's sakes.

I agree w Boston Babe on this one. Anything anyone says will be used against them and it wont end up helping Julie. Whatever Heartbroken has say could be used against him, even all the stuff he deleted, the detectives can still acquire access to it. Ironically, the same is true for Julie's brother. If he says too much, then Bill's lawyer will use that in his defense and say he never got a fair trial or was prematurely accused etc.

I will say though, that I'm surprised at how long it has taken to solve this crime. Bill has done a lot to put the spotlight on himself. Like I said before, this is Texas, the most vigilante state there is. Texas doesn't play. Texas has the highest rate of execution than any other state and rarely goes soft on anyone.

I'm not saying Bill deserves execution, in fact, if he is guilty, he will get far less punishment than anyone else would get, due to his mental state. I'm just saying I'm surprised that this crime hasn't been solved yet.
