Suicide is that really bothers me. I've been depressed enough to consider suicide, but I didn't. My heart breaks for those who weren't able to nake it through their depression, and I never get tired of hearing about it. In fact, I think that if we talked about it more, maybe we can stop some of it.

For the record, Robin Williams death wasn't glorified in any way. It got so much attention because, not only was he famous, but he always made people laugh! How the fuck are you going to put yourself in a position to make sure everyone is laughing and happy when you're dead inside? He self medicated and even tried to get help...it never worked out. His death was talked about to draw attention to the fact that no matter how happy someone seems, there's more on the inside that you don't see.

Um, Robin Williams had lewy body dementia. His brain was swiss cheese, he was probably paranoid and hallucinating at the time of his death. By no stretch of the imagination was this some casual choice a rich dude made. You are being incredibly ignorant, but I hear you are very good at that.

Kat, raise your children. Teach them things. If something like this happens and they hear about it, explain it to them. Stop letting tv and movies be where they get all their info. You can't always protect them from seeing bad things, but it's a parent's job to talk to their child/ren. Don't push them away if they have questions. STOP blaming someone who you don't know. You don't say what people are allowed to do in their lives. Bad things happen, deal with it accordingly.

Maybe I am just an icy bitch but that kid's death definitely doesn't stand out to me. It's very sad, yes, but it was a tragic accident and not nearly as horrifying as some of the other kids who've been murdered and discussed on here.

The title of the thread is "Death that struck you most." I don't think there is a wrong answer. But it wasn't the manner of death that got me - it was the raw anguish of the mom on her blog. And the fact that they were there to take family photos. But yeah, it struck me the most.
