Since the defense is making truthfulness the petard from which they're going to hang themselves from I can't wait until GZ takes the stand and the State asks him why he and his lying ass wife lied to the court - both while under oath - during his bail hearing

George Zimmerman’s wife was arrested and charged Tuesday with allegations that she lied to the judge in her husband’s second-degree murder case in the killing of unarmed Florida teenager Trayvon Martin.

The arrest comes less than two weeks after Judge Kenneth Lester Jr. ordered her husband back to jail when investigations revealed the couple had hidden more than $130,000 from authorities back in April.

On the gun issue, I just talked to (I live in the South where people are batshit crazy for guns) my boss who is a proud lifetime NRA member (UGH but in this instance useful). He said it is not required to carry a concealed weapon with a live round in it unless it is a revolver. He also indicated you are not TAUGHT to carry a gun with a live round in it. If it has a safety mechanism he says most people do (which I still think isn't safe, but that is just my opinion). Like with a Glock (not sure of spelling here) you wouldn't cause it doesn't have a safety mechanism.

Yeah. I went through gun training when I studied criminal justice, and we were specifically trained to not carry a live round. But, other states and training programs can be different.

I asked a few people who I shoot with how they carry. All have semi-automatics, some with, and some without a safety. They all carry with a round chambered. In my training class, this was not addressed, and neither were the laws in CT in any great detail. I had to research the laws on my own, and I did a thorough job of it. One of the guys I spoke to is a Safety Instructor, so I guess in CT that is the way many people carry. I have a CCP, but I rarely carry. It's just not comfortable for me, and I don't put myself in situations where I would need to defend myself with a gun. I try not to anyway. It sickens me that GZ claims to have bought a gun due to a loose dog. I call bullshit. He was a wannabe cop.

Really, think about this for a second. You're walking home from the store, and some car is following you. How would you react? Seriously think about it.

People are all putting this on Travon because of his race and gender. If a girl ran from someone following her in a car, would she suddenly become suspicious?

This actually happened to me. I think I've discussed it before so here's the short version: I was out for a run when this guy stopped me and started saying and doing some very perverted stuff. I took off running and he jumped into his car, which was parked about a block away, and started chasing after me. He cut me off at a side street and jumped out. I ran the other direction and up to a house and called 911. Having someone following you is pretty damn terrifying and this was in the middle of the day.

I;ve had actual cops (in plainclothes) run up on me like that and I almost ran cause I thought I was getting robbed.

They pulled up on me in a car and hopped out without identifying themselves in any manner. If I had a gun, I may have pulled it on them (what they want you to do) but I freaked and almost took off. Why? Cause someone running up on you like that is usually up to no good, that's why. They didn't have a free cookie offer, and they didn't wanna talk to me about accepting Jesus.

Did you ask them why the F they did that?? I can see how a young black male would be looking around and perceiving things totally differently than a white person...that's why I don't understand why the jury is composed only of white females. There's no one there to see things from the perspective of a back male growing up in the U.S.of A.

Like I said, I'm just going by what's been presented in the trial so far (kinda like a juror, looking at what each side puts out there.) I have a lot of questions, like was Zimmerman driving real slow behind TM before he stopped and made the 911 call? Is that what spooked TM? And where did the attack take place relative to where Zimmerman's truck was?

here is the video of the walk thru he did w/ cops the next day - (and btw some how his nose is no longer broken from the nite b4 ) - you should read his first night statement to see the vast difference, it will show you where, and also how he changed the story of the fight - especially at the end when george claimed after he shit trayvon, trayvon held up his hands and said "ok you got me" - even thought he was shot in the heart and death was so fast, trayvon couldn't even form a bruise from the encounter :facepalm:

I will agree with you on one thing, it does seem to be his style to repeat the same question over and over and over again until the prosecutor finally will object saying asked and answered. The difference with this witness is that she is a teenager who unlike some of the previous witnesses does not hide her emotions well and therefore we could see her frustration, impatience and eagerness to put this behind her. Remember she admitted she never wanted to be involved at all, she admitted she lied about her age to not have to deal with not only her own pain but Trayvons parents pain.
She again tried to avoid pain by lying and not going to the wake, that was laid bare for everyone to see there on the witness stand.
So she seems to be holding on to her emotions, she has said numerous times, she does not like to cry or see others cry and the defense is stringing her along as long as possible prolonging what is obviously a painful experience for her. She is not a professional witness, she is a teen and his friend and I think she came across very credible and it is going to backfire on them. And yes, they dragged it out intentionally.

Very well said! That was my impression too. She's a sad, traumatized teen with all these adults coming at her asking questions over and over about memories that are painful for her. She just wants it all to be done. I don't think West is doing the defense any favors by dragging it on and on because I doubt he's ever going to get the big "aha" moment from this girl.

A woman knows very well, how it feels. Any woman who is alone in the dark would also be very afraid of some guy following her.

I don't think you have to be a black male or female to understand why someone would be afraid.

She's not a professional witness, but who is? Despite her actions and speech pattern, she does appear credible. She comes from a world most of us don't know, and perhaps didn't know existed, so it took a while to adjust to her. She says it as it is with no reservation.
As for her lying, yes she did, but she never lied as it pertained to this case. I've lied about why I didn't attend a friend's funeral too. I was a basket case and didn't want everyone to see me that way. Perhaps that's how she felt too.
So, when her testimony is broken down, she did the best she could. She also has full support of many on HLN, most notably on Dr Drew, they loved her for her candidness.

I saw this hearing when it happened. Interestingly enough, GZ claimed that he didn't know how old Trayvon was when he was testifying, but in the 911 call he said Trayvon looked like he was in his late teens. Liar. I loved the way he got busted on the money along with his wife. I can't stand the fact that people are donating money for him to live on. That makes this case even more appalling. He and his wife are eating well apparently. I understand how stress and weight gain work, but the fact that they are able to live so comfortably irks me.

So...both of these girls were having the exact same conversation with Trayvon at exactly the same time on the phone? Was it established with Rachel that they were on a 3way conversation at the time?

Interestingly enough, GZ claimed that he didn't know how old Trayvon was when he was testifying, but in the 911 call he said Trayvon looked like he was in his late teens. Liar. I loved the way he got busted on the money along with his wife. I can't stand the fact that people are donating money for him to live on. That makes this case even more appalling. He and his wife are eating well apparently. I understand how stress and weight gain work, but the fact that they are able to live so comfortably irks me.

I think they are living very well, when they did a breakdown of wear the money had gone there was something like 5 to 6K for their living expenses. I am quite sure he did not have that type of income when he had to pay for it himself. No wonder he shows no remorse for this murder, he has been living damn well since he committed it

Sorry for the double post but DeeDee is Rachael Jeantel, it is a misstatement that she was his girlfriend. She has obviously gained some weight since last year.

West is trying to get her to say she came up with the idea that Zimmerman racially profiled Trayvon by watching the news and she keeps saying "I don't watch the news."

He said her demeanor has changed since yesterday and wanted to know if someone talked to her about how she appeared on the stand. She said, "No. I went to sleep."

Now West is saying that Trayvon is the one who made it racial by describing Zimmerman as a "creepy-ass cracker."

He keeps getting smacked down by the judge - rightfully. How can she answer questions of what other people are thinking? I'm not a lawyer but damn, I think I could do a better job.
