I had it on my legs for a long time. Unscented soaps, oatmeal baths, and eventually prescription ointment from a dermatologist. It was really bad though.

I can feel it more than see it. It's itchy and super dry but luckily skin colored. Don's hydrocortisone he uses on his isn't helping :(

Hmm, maybe some kind of oatmeal face mask? What happened with the head and shoulders? Mine were bright red and blistery and when they went away I had white spots.

The Head and Shoulders has helped shrink it but it's unbearably itchy. I'm gonna try an oatmeal mask.

usually, i've used toner after bleaching to make my hair more uniform in color. it may be something that you want to have around after you color in case the coloring looks choppy. look at the directions before use - you have to use a mixture of the toner and i think it's 20 volume developer.

i'm no hairdresser, but if your hair is brassy and you put an ash, i feel like you may not even need a toner. if you do, i'd use a beige toner instead of an ash/violet toner or your hair might turn grey. if you get one, ask about the return policy in case you don't use it.

i'd actually go with a protein filler before feeling the need to use a toner. they don't hurt your hair at all, and are meant to make your hair more receptive to the color. i think you can get a clear filler if you're unsure of what color to get.

buy an after color conditioner, they come in a little packet for about a dollar. after you do your thing, condition, wrap your head in saran wrap (or get a cap) and sit in the sun for 10 minutes or more.

but i don't want to be responsible for screwing up your hair, so please ask the sally's people first...

I have noticeable eczema on my arms and I find that coconut oil helps tremendously.

I really like cetaphil moisturizer. They have a couple of different kinds for problem skin.

OMG, I totally missed your post and got an 8A Medium Ash Blonde and #20 developer and was helped by a girl at Sally's. That was my first try. Just as I finished applying the color, all of my smoke detectors and ADT fire alarm started going off. I threw my hair up in a towel and was running outside to avoid the screeching, back in to the alarm panel, and I was on the phone with a friend who was getting pissed because I thought the hair color set off the alarms. By the time I figured out which detector started the whole thing, I rinsed out the color, but I didn't leave it on long enough. Orange from roots to ends. I tried the same product again, left it on for the right amount of time, and I got the same result. I then was advised to get a neutral brown to cover the orange. I did, and it stayed orange. Went to a different Sally's and got a different developer (10) and Light Ash Brown, and after the 4th attempt, it covered the orange but not fully. It's more of a reddish hue, not as bad as the fucking orange.

The product I used for the 3rd and 4th time was Argan color, and it's fantastic. Even though I processed my hair so much, the Argan color did absolutely no damage, and my hair is wicked shiny. The ends are shot, but they started out bad, and I need a haircut. I'm lucky I still have hair. I got a packet of Argan Oil Conditioner at Sally's and it's sooooo good. Now I may need a different toner to get the residual reddish tint out, but at least I know about developer. Learned that lesson the hard way and will never try to lighten my hair myself again.

I had the Argan Oil conditioner in my hair for a couple days while out in the sun. I just put a little on, and the heat and sun made it penetrate nicely. Great advice, thanks. I was going from one house to another and packing, so I didn't keep up with the posts, but I definitely will from now on. I would never hold anybody responsible for my fuck ups. My ex's sister is still telling me to get Golden Brown. I saw the color - it's like her hair color and has a red tone.

I found an OLD beauty book from the late 80's, and it has all kinds of hair and skin tips using food products like eggs, oatmeal, yogurt, etc. I made some cool concoctions and my skin looks good. Chamomile tea used as a toner feels wonderful. The egg yolk/oatmeal mask looked hysterical, but it left my face very soft. Let me know if you want me to look up anything for you. It's an old book, but the shit works.

Thanks for putting up with this hair dilemma. I was freaking out for a few days there.

I put on an anti fungal morning and night and a cortisone in midday when I want to scratch my face off. Also the fact I'm putting anti fungal on my face makes me want to an hero. I wash it with diluted Castile soap.

ooh,shit.. uh..okay...blackseed oil? i have to order it...i get it from shea terra's website. maybe a natural vitamin place? its an oil with a dropper thingy...

the pomada? i usually find it at like walgreens or walmart...in that.."ethnic" section. my grandma used to use it every night until she died..she had amazing skin, im told. it even took those dark spots away from her face that women get when their hormones go nutty.

Looks like poison ivy to me. But then again, I have it constantly so everything looks like poison ivy to me. Although it's highly unlikely you came across any in NYC. I'm dumb. Disregard.

ugh, ang. have you thought about seeing a dermatologist? i have no advice other than that.

i have had some weird shit on my face in the past and i wish i had seen a dr. i had this crusty, pealing shit all over my face that i thought was chemical burn (i got it after a photo shoot where some makeup artist i didn't know painted me) and after taking some science classes i'm pretty sure it was a staph infection. i don't know what that is, but if you've been fighting it that long it might be good to ask a doc.

btw, i don't think it looks that bad.

ang, if its a fungal thing, cortisone makes it worse. it might make the inflammation go down temporarily, but it doesn't do anything to fix it. i'd lay off the cortisone stuff for a few days and just use an antifungal.

the antifungal will help with the itching, at least it should if its a fungal thing. you could take benadryl pills, i don't know that i'd put anything else on topically.
