I would have thought if her mother can't get up there, what about her brother, her sisters? A family member. Just very odd.

And, I wonder if Jodi discovered today that her attorneys files a motion to withdraw from the case. My law friend was right, the judge would not allow that to happen. So, they are all one happy family at the present time.

Did the defense just find out that Jodi's friend had to do an audio and didn't want to be seen? Nice time to find out when she's ready to get on the stand. Maybe she wasn't dressed appropriately or she has to do a whole audio and we didn't have time today. This poor jury must be stressed to the max! They go to lunch at 3:30 then come back at 5:00 then at 6:30 are told to come back Monday. Just don't understand it!

If Patty didn't want to be seen on camera they just don't show her face. Period. It's that simple. They just carry audio of her only, Nurmi/Willmott/JM etc would still all be shown.

Maybe Donavan took patty and Darryl out for a few drinks at lunch?

All of the above, deanna. It astounds me, the Judge's lack of control over this trial. She should have known better, considering "the history," should have made sure this morning that all of the witnesses were present and properly prepared (and dressed) and ready to testify, that any issues that the witnesses might have were addressed before court began this morning.

As I recall, Jodi was asked to be in the wedding, but couldn't afford the dress so the father of the bride paid for it. In return, in thanks, Jodi offered to take photos of the wedding, which she did (some pre and post ceremony pics) and presented an album to the family sometime after the wedding. She wasn't the official photographer.

But what can she say, really? "We were pals in middle school and she was my bestie" or "She took the pics at my wedding because I could not afford a real photographer"? If I was on that jury, there is no chance that would sway me. No chance I would say: "Hey, she was BFFs with a fellow skank years ago, that's enough for me! Let's spare her!". Ditto her being good with Daryl's son. Frankly, who cares? How does it in any way diminish the horror of what she has done?

Ted Bundy volunteered extensively at a suicide hotline. John Wayne Gacy did volunteer work for charities and was liked by his neighbors as a generous guy who volunteered to shovel some of their driveways for free in the winter for those who could not do it themselves. Those acts are far more generous than anything Jodi has ever done, but it was not (and should not have been) enough to keep them from the death penalty.

I am a photographer and I've done a bunch of weddings. I (and most other professional) photographers HATE when friends do that. If they had a professional photographer it's rude and beyond irritating when a guest or wedding party member or relative wants to jump in and take pictures. I'm not saying just take regular shots here and there but I've had it happen before when a guest who wants to be a photographer jumps in the middle of the formal pictures wanting to take pictures.
