Ok, so just heard Travis' friend break down on Nancy Grace about coming across the autopsy photos online! Heartbreaking! I stumbled upon my first picture of TA, crime scene body, on the Huffington Post website. I was very shocked, and consequently, cried a lot afterwards! A horrifying site yes? And I'm not a friend (granted), and after following this case since 2009, it gave some idea of the absolute horror that was inflicted upon this man! Then, eventually, (I now know MDS published them early on) there was an onslaught of autopsy pics, everywhere.

But here is my question to anyone who may know? If Florida has 'Sunshine Laws', how come we were prevented from seeing the tiny skull of Caylee Anthony? Surely there was a lot less to see there? Apart from the obvious horror of a child's body being left to decompose in a swamp a couple of 100yrds from their Mother's home! But the autopsy photo's of Travis are what 'made this case' (IMO)! THEY ARE HORRIFIC!

I wondered the same thing about the crime scene photos in that case. It's odd that they show everything regarding TA's case. But they didn't for the CA case.

You could make an argument for the gun shot being first. A gun is quicker and cleaner, and you don't have to get up close in contact. And the argument is, if you have a gun why bother with a knife? Perhaps the gun jams.

But, the problem I have is with the ME's report. The lack of blood in the head leading to the lack of hemorrhaging. It obviously penetrated his face, his skull, and had to have been deflected by hitting his brain in order to reflect back through the skull cavity and lodge in the cheek. The brain had to deflect the bullet because otherwise the path would've been straight through front-to-back; that didn't happen.

Sure it could be argued that depending on how much damage the bullet did, he could still be conscious and functional for a while; although that's not what the ME believes.

And while it's reasonable to ask "why use a knife when you have a gun?" I think it's reasonable to ask, "why even bring a knife if you have a gun?" And since she brought the knife as well, we have to believe she was prepared to and willing to use it; which of course she did.

Why use a knife instead of a gun? Many reasons:

- A knife doesn't make a loud "BANG" that could alert the neighbors who might then call 9-1-1.

- A knife doesn't have to be properly loaded; it doesn't have a safety that you know how to use; you don't have to know how to chamber rounds; a knife doesn't have a recoil; a knife doesn't run out of "ammo".

- A gun shot is potentially quickly fatal; whereas a knife let's her take out her rage in making him hurt while she stabs him 2+ dozen times. I will never believe that Jodi wanted Travis to die quick and relatively painlessly. She wanted to rant at him and blame him, and punish him. A knife works better for that.

- It's believable that she thought a couple of stabs, while he was in a confined space, would disable him to the point where he could not fight back, but that he would linger and suffer while she verbally assaulted him. It seems reasonable that a person would believe that a knife wound to major artery connecting to the heart would quickly disable a person from being able to fight back or even just defend himself.

So, an argument could be made for both methods. I go with the knife wound first for several reasons mentioned above; because she wanted it to be personal; because she thought it would be a disabling wound; because she was fearful someone would hear a shot; and because she wanted him to linger and suffer, both for the pain it caused him and so that she could rant how it was all his fault. Throw in the ME's report and the bullet casing and I believe the gun shot came last, and was the last straw for her , noise be damned, because he just wouldn't die.

And it seems to me, and I don`t know how the state`s going to argue this, Beth Karas -- it seems he was shot when he`s already there naked in the shower, down, because the bullet enters from the top above the right eyebrow and lodges downward -- the trajectory is downward -- in the left cheek

For it to deflect via brain matter would rival the JFK magic bullet.

I certainly don't approve of Juror 8 drinking and driving, but I could understand (to a point) being on that jury causing someone to overindulge. That would be hard to deal with, the length of the trial, the lies, the incompetent witnesses, the horrific photos, being stared down by Jodi, and then to not be able to talk to anyone about it; it had to be rough.
