I think there was a picture of them there. I mentioned their visit awhile ago because I though perhaps her smashed hard drive might have shown she looked up the exhibits when she plotted stabbing him, to study where she could do the most damage. Their visit would have given her excuse to have been been looking at the website/pictures.

Yes, they did. For the mitigation phase when they stated in a motion that she would claim innocence regardless of verdict from jury.

She is a very smooth liar, and is able to lie with a great amount of apparent sincerity, which will fool a lot of people a lot of the time. I think you could be right about the lie detector test, since responses indicating a lie tend to be based on physical responses most humans have when they feel fearful or guilty about telling a lie. Since Jodi has no conscience at all, I think it is possible she would not have the normal, human physical responses when telling a lie.

Yes, psychopaths can pass polygraphs; one of the reasons why they are not reliable.

That also brings me to another question... why is it that Jodi mixes in these kernels of truth in her sea of lies? Almost every story she tells seems to me to have at least a kernel of truth in it. Why does she bother? I am honestly curious. She clearly has no trouble making up endless lies, so what is the point of the kernels of truth? Do they make it easier to remember?

Great questions, Brillig. Yes, I think that the 'kernals' act as a memory prompt. Arias probably thinks that the embellishments help her appear more truthful but only in her sick mind is she always successful. I never assume that there are always kernels of truth in her lies. Sometimes she just plain old fibs. The kernels of truth pop right out though and they are easy to recognise. Arias is slippery, cunning and devious but she lies so prolifically that a machine would be required to track and compute the details. The old adage that you don't need to have a good memory if you are telling the truth is apt.

Arias is not that smart nor is she a good liar. She just creates mountains of lies. She can't stop. She is compelled to lie.
