SMURF, He has a wicked wit. However, I never got a sense of meanness, pettiness, bitterness or downright nastiness that I get from some posters. Context is every thing. He had a certain something that came through even in his controversial posts. Just my opinion. Some posters are very nasty and seething with anger or an extreme need to pound their Point of view home. He isn't like that.

I agree......he was never mean spirited. Ever. And I challenged the hell out of him, at times. From Coconut, I learned that I could totally disagree with someone's perspective, without disliking the person.

Not saying he is not intelligent, but he obviously has a way with some women and had the art of rabble rousing down cold. He is the only poster here that would get adulation comments.

All right, I'm gonna have to bust out the 2012 AZ Revised Statutes, Title 13 Criminal Code here...

Paraphrasing, 'If the defendant is convicted of first degree murder, the trier of fact (the jury) at the sentencing proceeding shall determine whether to impose a sentence of death. If the trier of fact determines the death penalty is not appropriate and the defendant was at least 18 years of age at the time of the offense, the court shall impose a sentence of natural life (LWOP.) If the defendant was under 18 years of age at the time of the offense the court shall determine whether to impose a sentence of life (with possibility of parole after 25 years) or natural life.'

The only time parole is possible in M1 is if the convicted person was under 18 when the crime was committed.

Good job! Thanks for the clarification. I didn't realize the second part only applied if under 18 years of age. Weird too because many Arizona attorneys on the radio, news?etc all say that it is possible (albeit unlikely) for her to get 25 years and then the chance at parole. Weird that they wouldn't know the stipulation you listed...

A friend of mine sent me the link for this 48 hour case. It sounds so much like Jodi in some ways. This woman bought gas cans and drove hundreds of miles to kill her husband and his new girlfriend.

They talk about the turned off cell phone and gas cans at around the 12 minute mark.
