Really?? ummmm It's called Freedom of the Press/Freedom of Speech. We all have the right to take it or leave it, right? People (especially me) want to hear more about this trial. I WANT to hear both sides of it all. It is up to me to filter the information and process it using MY OWN mind. When I tire of it, I will let it go. But in my own time. Not because a message board poster obviously obsessed as much as I am in the case tells me it is time to stop and demand others take up her cause to refuse to listen. WT knows where the off switches are on her TV and computer. Use them without telling me how I should proceed in following/not following this case. I have learned a lot watching Jodi et al in this case and will continue to take the information on human psyche (for one) as part of my knowledge base from learning the details of this case.
I put myself on time out the week before the verdict came out. Perhaps WT needs a break from the trial, too. Organizing a boycott is the kind of thing they try to do at JAII. Totally ineffective.

I didn't hear anything in his statements that warranted all that appeal talk, but they're grasping at whatever they can over there. I actually started feeling very ill the more comments I read. Seriously ill. I had to click off and come back here.

They are grasping at straws. There is actually someone on there who is trying to speak some sense into those people. Pointing out why they can't bring in Baez. Pointing out that an appeal needs to be about 3-4 things, not 10-12, because the appeals court will throw it out. But 5 posts down, they're back on the same thing. They think the jurors were reading the news on their Ipads or something because of what Juror 8 said. They want the jury sequestered even though they've been told that AZ hasn't sequestered a jury in 30 years. Blah, blah, blah

What if we switch genders for Jodi and Travis? In other words, Travis showed up at Jodi's house and killed her. Would we feel differently or would we be asking why didn't she call the police. Do we expect more of women when it comes to unwanted stalking behavior. Come on, ladies.... How many of you would have let him in? Would you have called the police right away if your ex just showed up standing behind you at 4:00 AM?

    Just my opinions.... Nothing more.
Sitting there blabbing in interrogations proved to me that she thinks she's a lot smarter than she is.
I think she would have killed again if she wasn't stopped, but she just wasn't smart enough to get away with it.
As for the sex reversal thing, in previous generations girls didn't chase guys. With a lot of older people on the jury, the fact that she kept chasing Travis and throwing herself at him, made her look really bad to them. Yeah, a girl should see some red flags if a guy is chasing her all over the place looking for nothing but sex. Still, we don't blame the victim.

I thought it was, "I hope the jury didn't see that." They were probably talking about Jodi's interview the day before. KCL said nothing happened in court - therefore was no Jodi scene. Maybe they polled the jurors again to find out if they saw Jodi's interview. Or they could have been talking about the Alexander's reaction to the jury verdict. That was the basis of wanting Victim Impact statements pre-recorded.

It's just more Arias' style smoke and mirrors. Maybe JA planned the interview in hopes of eliminating some jurors? We know she had an ulterior motive.

If you need a break from Jodi, if you're looking for a new home on MDS, the next big thing, happening now, is here http://mydeathspace.com/vb/showthrea...79#post3417179 (not the Zimmerman trial)

well.. satire is an art form (funny and thought provoking) ...whatever that was they did on SNL last night is not satire, it was clumsy and poorly written at best. The part that made me say NOT funny was when they injected the Cleveland kidnap story along side the JA parody... tasteless... I turned it off.

WT left me the following smite: "chill the fuck out you stupid cow. You obviously are MISSING THE POINT!"

WT, temper, temper now. No need to name call, curse or hide in a private message. These are typical signs of immaturity and display the inability to communicate on a rational level. Just put your little yellow pencil down and explain to me what point I am missing.

I will give you the benefit of the doubt and assume you can do it without a rant. Try it again here with exactly what you want everyone to do.

On the SNL topic. I thought the Jodi attempt was lame. The actress from the "New Jodi Testimony Parody" did a much better job playing her. SNL hits and misses to me. I love the Justin Timberlake ones. I wonder if SNL has avoided the Jodi "stuff" in order to remain "Jodi Free" for the jury.

She talks about that in her original 48 Hours interview, in her attempt to get a plea deal (which interesting to note is that people plead down on charges, not UP, so the fact that she asked for 2nd degree murder says a lot there), and in her interview after the verdict.

I think this is one factor of many that fuels her rage toward Travis. That he was this popular motivational speaker who also happened to be Mormon (which means no sex before marriage), and he clearly put that out as his public persona, all the while getting down and dirty with her behind closed doors, and making it clear he didn't consider wife material, and that he was moving on. I think that enraged her.

If he had been pulling that with a more stable woman, she would have gotten the hint (like the ones the Hughes tried to give Jodi) and walked away.

Jodi had decided that this was the man for her. He had the money, the house, the cars, the social popularity. And she found him sexually attractive. He was her ticket to the good life.

The fact that he didn't want her was the barbeque, and the fact that he kept having sex with her even though he didn't really want her, was the gasoline poured on top of it.

I can understand why that would make her angry. But her problem is that she wasn't smart enough to disentangle herself from this situation. She had to get back at him and punish him for it. She wasn't going to let Travis get away with treating her like trash. She can't see that it was entirely her own choice to serve herself up on a silver platter over and over again. That is 100% on her. She is just enraged that all her efforts to snag her prey didn't work. And so he had to pay the price for that.

And I think now she relishes the fact that no one knows exactly what happened in that bathroom that day. The descriptions made in court probably come close, but only she knows exactly how it went down. And I also think she loves the fact that she had so much power over Travis sexually. She makes the comment in the original 48 Hours episode that no one except she and Travis know what went on behind closed doors. I think this makes her feel like she possesses him in some way. And the fact that she killed him enhances that feeling of possession. And the fact that all these people want to know exactly how she killed him just enhances the feelings of control and ownership that she has.

I think the small grin she made as she walked away at the very end of the interview after her verdict reveals it all - its the duper's delight smile.
I was talking to my boyfriend who thinks the death penalty is barbaric and we are a bloodthirsty mob lol. I told him if she would have chosen a different type of revenge I would have cheered her on. Someone posted the clip from the movie where she empties out his closet, all his suits, shoes everything he takes pride in, dumps it in his car and sets it on fire. If she would have outed him to the church, the nice Mormon girls, THAT I could have understood and maybe cheered her on for.
Instead she savagely butchered him. In a way that makes me ache for the pain and horror his last minutes on earth were like. Then continues to try to destroy his memory. For these behaviors she deserves to sit alone and think of all she has lost. I believe that is going to happen either with LWOP or death penalty so either is fine. The only thing that bothers me is that the news story said she could earn her way to better conditions after years and years and she does not deserve that

Your post is somewhat confusing to me. Are you suggesting that JA was a DV victim?

ETA - the behavior you said you would support- trashing his clothes, car and other things that meant a lot to Travis - wouldn't that have been more evidence of stalking behavior?

Can someone answer me a question. Will the aggravation phase really begin on Wednesday? I mean what if Jodi continues to say she will kill herself, what are they going to keep her in the padded cell from her on out? Can they go through the aggravation phase without her present in the courtroom? Thanks, you guys are a world of info. Appreciate it.

I think they found the hoarde of skateboarders that switched Jodi's license plate around. They have migrated to Huntington Beach.

He was like that with Jose Baez too he is full of fail.. He also said that Ariel Castro's crimes were hard for him to bear because the kidnapper is Puerto Rican. I guess it would be easier on him if he was a white southerner.

Travis may have allowed her back into his life, but it sounds like she manipulated him, not the other way around. So I don't know where you get the idea that any sort of 'revenge' on her part would be acceptable.

She threatened, wheedled, and forced her way into his life. He probably let her back in because he didn't view her as a huge threat, and because he didn't know what else to do with her.

Actually on that point, a guy in my area was being harassed by a woman he worked with, so he finally told her that he was gay in the hopes that THAT would finally give her a clue so that she would leave him alone. He's not gay, but he wanted her to back off. When she continued to flirt with him and ask her out, he finally filed a sexual harassment complaint against her -- and he caught shit for it, since he lied about being gay.

It's not easy for guys to deal with female pursuers.

I hate to get sucked-in (I'll probably regret asking) but what exactly was said on or by Geraldo (chasing naked babies?) and is there a link? I looked and can only find something from April w/Mark Geragos

I'll be looking for that also. I think they said Jodi took a picture of TA chasing a nude 4 year old while he had The Book of Morman in his hand. Although at first this sounds ludicrous, I recall Jodi trying to get in a snippet of Travis caring for a 4 year old child he was close to when JM objected. Maybe this is where that was going. If there is such a picture I would have to guess he was babysitting for this child (4 year olds can be nude in the drop of a hat) and TA took off after the child while he was reading The Book to bring the child back or something. Jodi thought it was sooooooo cute and funny, she snapped a pic. Defense prolly wanted to use this as evidence he liked little boys.

The media is still speculating based on the word of a woman (a proven liar) who called the man she murdered a "hypocrite" minutes after being convicted of M1... the only place things get sick and twisted is between her ears. She also said Travis' fantasies about young girls "is the definition of pedophilia"... no genius-jodi, everyone has fantasies, pedophiles act, without restraint, on their impulses... a lot like murderers.

My question is was Geraldo promoting the myth of Travis as a pedophile or just reporting an aspect of the case?

And I suspect there's a good deal of jealousy. Not only is Katie a 'right-wing nut', she's in all the action. Clearly, she does not deserve to be there simply because of her politics. And clearly, her politics mean she is out for herself, and that she does not give a shit about Travis or his family. Because I mean, hello, conservatives are evil.
The way people are labelled 'liberals' if they happen to have a personal opinion on someone baffles me. I in no way think conservatives are evil, but I do think this girl's an extremist. Sort of flies in the face of the persona she's trying to put out there as a thoroughly caring individual. Extremism in itself is a good enough reason for some to dislike someone, unless you're (not you personally, in general) singing from the same hymn sheet, although that's stating the obvious. For the record I am anti-extremism, although neither am I what is labelled in the UK as a 'bleeding-heart' liberal.

By her own admission, she came upon this case when she had time on her hands and was curious about the inner workings of the court judicial system, not because of Travis Alexander. I could have sworn she initially said defence presentation was her specific interest, though I recently read her interview where she states to the contrary. No matter. I DO think she has come to care for the Alexanders, having gotten to know them personally via Kathy Monkman. I also think she's a pretty girl, and will take poppycock's word for it she's pleasant and approachable. I don't have a problem with her jumping right into the limelight when it was offered to her on a plate, most young girls in her position would. But I totally don't get the 'jealousy' tag, and do completely get that some think she MAY have an agenda. It remains to be seen whether she stays in the 'spotlight' in some shape or form, and I'll watch that space to see just where it takes her, I know what my money's on. I suspect others are thinking along the same lines, but this is obviously just my opinion.

Bib:This has been on my mind a lot in recent months, I've also told it to one of our posters, I'll be brief as I can. Years ago, 4 months after I split from my ex/h, I had been on a night out, my little girl was with my mum for the evening, etc. I came inside happy as larry and poured myself a nightcap. I went across to the hall, bent down to take my shoes off and farted (I don't in front of anyone). I sorta giggled to myself then froze stiff when I heard what sounded like a loud stifled laugh (hard to describe, a pfft noise, followed by a sharp smack) from the direction of my kitchen/den. I remember being frightened to ask if anyone was there in case they answered, and just did not know what to do. Then my 'phone rang (pre-cell days) and I ran back into the lounge to answer it.

It was my friend to chat about our evening, and though I'd hardly moved I was breathless, and told him I thought someone was in my house. My ex-husband walked straight into the lounge then, kind of laughing, telling me to relax that it was only him, etc., etc. I don't know why I never died of fright right there. I tried to talk to my friend on the 'phone but nothing came out. My ex 'explained' he'd come round to see if we could talk, and thought he'd just wait so someone was there when I got home. The house was in darkness and I'd no clue he had a key, though he told police I'd given it to him in case of emergency. As if. My point is I had left him for many reasons, and he knew perfectly well I didn't want him anywhere near me. Had he knocked on my door in the early hours, I would not have answered it and definitely called the police. I completely froze in the moment though, and still wonder now and again 'what if' the 'phone never rang, more so these past 5 months than in years. I learned a lot about myself that night/morning,

To cheer her on means you buy into the fact she was abused by Travis. I've seen no evidence of anything that points to Jodi not doing what Jodi wanted to do. None. The kind of revenge you mention is usually what 'women scorned' do when they've been cheated on by a partner. As much as she wanted to be, she wasn't his partner, therefore he never cheated on her. Or were you just throwing out a not so subtle warning to your boyfriend?

Yes he was. He was also promoting that Travis abused her.

    Welcome Douger
My guess is they would have her on live feed as she has the right to be there. I can't imagine they would make all the rest of the players, jury, lawyers etc. keep waiting for her, but I am not sure.

One thing I would really like to know is from the time Travis and Jodi began dating, when was the point when he expressed to her that he did not see a future with her. This is something I am fuzzy on. Was this at the time they officially broke up? Later? Earlier?

Judge Jeanine Pirro on last night's Creep of the Week.
"Now that It's finally over, Jodi Arias, my perfect Creep of the Week.
Without a doubt, one of the most difficult decisions I faced as DA was whether to seek the death penalty. It's one decision that DA's, Judges and Jurors agonize over. She shot, stabbed, brutalized and virtually decapitated him. She lied, denied, and pointed the finger at others. And when that didn't work, she trashed the memory of a kind, loving, decent human being who is unable to defend himself because SHE put him 6 feet under. She sold her body like a prostitute to lure him to his death. Not a quick death, instead a long painful ordeal, incapacitated as he watched her continually stab him as he bled out. Of course, she deserves death. All the aggravating factors are there. She is truly a dangerous individual who should not roam freely among us. But I have an idea; (Big smile) Death is too good for her. This wannabe celebrity songstress, artist, and television star needs to age in jail and watch the world go by through iron bars. She needs to experience the greying of her long brown tresses, the wrinkling of her smooth ivory complexion, the cellulite in those firm thighs that she trapped her victim in. The sagging of the skin above her knees. No, death is too good for her. She needs to rot in jail, before she rots in her deserved place, in Hell."
