If this was her diagnosis she would have killed travis in a impulsive heat of passion in April when she began to despise him. I can't understand why the thread can not see how much she hates, absolutely loathes Travis and by extension his siblings. She continues to justify her actions by saying Travis abused her and was a hypocrite. She will be singing that song until the day she dies. The core of her personality is BPD with antisocial characteristics when under stress. And yes, I know you disagree with me...
And this is what DeMarte diagnosed her as, and she actually tested & interviewed Arias. Without the BPD she would not attract men like Travis. The BPD fuels the sexual manipulation. No "trivial" sex life. Direct opposite of "uninviting" behavior -- she was a man trap!

Now when things didn't work out the way she planned, and her personhood was called into question/exposed/threatened to be outed ..... then her sociopathic traits allowed for the murder solution. But only to protect the Borderline. If she was purely sociopathic she would have had a history of constant trouble -- and she would kill "just to see what it felt like."

Metis was responding to the bolded post above. Why did you have to make such a deal over it? Don't you realize what you're typing, or is your little brother sneaking on the computer behind your back?

She seethes with anger in the post verdict interview. It's pretty scary.
I too see her hatred and contempt for Travis and his family. Minutes after hearing the jury's verdict which in effect repudiated her outrageous claims of abuse, she continued her lies about Travis and took shots at the family's choosing to remember him falsely (in her view). I believe as Metis said she will be telling this tale until she dies.

Juan Martinez said it succinctly....... even in death she will not let him rest in peace.

That sums it up very well. Just like that incident at the Hughes house. She can't or won't acknowledge clear social cues that indicate she is disliked or not believed.

Email sent to PPL by Arias

Dr. Drew On Call was provided exclusively with an e-mail sent by Jodi Arias on Sept. 1, 2008 to a leader at Travis Alexander's employer Pre-Paid Legal.

I am writing this letter in regards to Travis Alexander, whose life was taken last June. He was a good friend of mine. Am also, at present, in custody as I am being charged with his murder.

I am not writing this solely to plead my own innocence. That goes without saying -- as Travis meant the world to me and I would never harm him.

It is my understanding that his memory will be honored and recognized in Las Vegas this September. I would humbly remind those who say any different -- that I am innocent until proven guilty.

It is with a spirit of humility that I would ask that if I am in any way referenced during Travis' memorial at the team breakout, that my implied innocence is taken into account.

    With humble gratitude,

    Jodi Ann Arias
The screen shot of the email clearly shows it was sent to PPL from her email address in Sept 2008. It could be that someone with access to her account sent it on her behalf at her request.

I think of Katie Wick as the TA supporter's version of Donavan Bering She's clearly hoping to leverage all the attention she's getting into a tv gig.

I had a look at her blog, full of wing nut conspiracy theories and hate. In reality she's just your average wing nut Tea Party member .

WT was just calling for a boycott of the media who dares to give Jodi a minute of airtime since the verdict was reached. She professed to be caught up in the post-verdict interviews, requesting everyone to stop the unbridled comments on Jodi anymore with demands for people to insist the press stop their covering Jodi. Really?? ummmm It's called Freedom of the Press/Freedom of Speech. We all have the right to take it or leave it, right? People (especially me) want to hear more about this trial. I WANT to hear both sides of it all. It is up to me to filter the information and process it using MY OWN mind. When I tire of it, I will let it go. But in my own time. Not because a message board poster obviously obsessed as much as I am in the case tells me it is time to stop and demand others take up her cause to refuse to listen. WT knows where the off switches are on her TV and computer. Use them without telling me how I should proceed in following/not following this case. I have learned a lot watching Jodi et al in this case and will continue to take the information on human psyche (for one) as part of my knowledge base from learning the details of this case.

If you get one shot at an interview, make it count. Troy or whatever the hell his name is, was no Walter Cronkite.
Troy is just a local news reporter. Jodi deliberately set up that interview for the brief window of time when she could get it done. (Before she got back to jail.) She used him for some purpose only she knows inside her head. You need to read or hear his comments to Greta about the interview to really get it all. He says he gave her several opportunities to show remorse, but she just wouldn't do it.
Sheriff Joe had a press conference scheduled for the same time, but he cancelled it. Some people say he let Jodi fall into her own trap, because he immediately put her on suicide watch after that.

Time will tell the overall effect of the interview. The truth is, the local reporter did so much more with Jodi than all the talking heads on HLN put together. What ever happened to investigative reporting?

I too agree with this. I don't think it's about Sheriff Joe being fooled by Jodi. I think this is Sheriff Joe letting Jodi dig herself deeper and deeper. Juan and Joe know that she'll never admit anything and will keep lying. Plus all of this "I'd rather get death" crap can be used to help her get the DP. It will lessen the guilt any juror might feel about giving her the DP.

(sfs) ^^This. Her obsession over-rides any social cues on all levels. Jodi doesn't let little things like being "socially acceptable" ruin a good obsession fest. Nobody is going to crap in her mental punch bowel... except Jodi herself. And even then she doesn't mind.

I think now that she's been convicted, all of these demands will be nipped in the bud. I'm sure, just the idea of having to show up in court wearing her prison stripes was enough to make her flip out. I personally can't wait to see her in her prison garb when she's sitting in court. I think they keep the handcuffs on her too, right? I hope they do. She's a violent felon now. She needs to be treated like one.

Sneakers- fake boobs probably cost her $3,000. That's the lower end price of the boob scale. I think Martinez accidentally said $300. She probably had them done above the chest muscle, not behind. The surgeries that are behind the muscle are more expensive. (please don't ask me how I know these things!)

Slamming Travis and his family, seems to have been a previously planned strike. I bet she's been fuming ever since her plea deal was denied. She's been waiting for the day to bask in the "I'm going to tell everyone what a piece of shit Travis was, if you don't give me my plea deal" glory. The jury, Juan, and the Alexanders completely ruined everything, when she got 1st degree. She knew that if the got 2nd or less, her blackmail attempts would have been a win for her. She was quite obviously pissed off that she got 1st degree, and wanted to stick it to Travis and the Alexanders one last time. The question I have is if this was all plotted out, did she think about the possible consequences to her case, when that interview is played back to the jury?

I think she figured it would be played for them, thats why she said she wanted death. Thinking they wont give her what she "wants" they will settle with LWOP. Staying alive and in a system that she can control would be fine with her. Imo.

Whoa! The previous comment about arias' inability "to acknowledge clear social cues ... " regarding her completely inappropriate behavior in social situations is what's been going around in my head but I haven't been able to express it properly. I believe that it's those "social cues" (and proper raising) that keep many of us from behaving like idiots in the first place -- and thank goodness for social cues and proper raising! Some of the stories I've seen/heard about her make me shake my head at the brazenness of her actions & what appears to be her 100% cluelessness regarding what's OK in a social situation & what's not. Except that I think she very well may be aware that her actions aren't appropriate but she just doesn't care. That's what, I think, keep most of us in-check: We care on one level or another. Arias, not so much.

And, speaking of "caring," (not that anyone here should!) I'm finding that, since the verdict, I'm less & less interested in what's going on with her whole mess with every passing day. I think I just wanted to watch her when she heard the M1 verdict; now I'm a pretty satisfied person.

She specifically planned it for a M1 verdict. I can't imagine what she hoped to gain by it.

I agree. I hope she gets the death penalty for at least 10 years, to suffer the treatment in that environment. After that, I'd be ok if they they reduce it to LWOP.

I think Troy is getting a bad rap over this whole thing. He's not a bad guy and I've always liked his reporting.

Do I think Jodi manipulated him to a degree? Yeah, I kinda do. But he isn't speaking out on her behalf or really supporting her in any way. He gave her a venue, but if he hadn't done it, somebody else would have. I'm not gonna fault the guy for trying to further his career over this.

Bottom line is, he knows she's guilty. I give him credit for being in the media and trying to present this case in a somewhat neutral manner. It's not easy to do with something as one-sided as this...

I personally hate opinionated media, no matter what side they're on (and not just on this issue).

Bottom line is, he knows she's guilty. I give him credit for being in the media and trying to present this case in a somewhat neutral manner. It's not easy to do with something as one-sided as this...

I personally hate opinionated media, no matter what side they're on (and not just on this issue).
I think ANY reporter would have jumped on this if offered. Troy may have been throwing some softballs, but Jodi was throwing some hard balls back at him. And who gives a 45 minute interview, 20 minutes after their M1 verdict had been handed down? I think that would be the very last thing on my mind at that moment. I trip so hard on how 'composed' she was. The lack of tears, even for herself floors me.
    :o)

I can't remember for sure but think it might have been Ressler (FBI profiler) that knew of some MRI study and then said it turned out his own brain had the features too. Now this is down to fMRI, amazing they might one day actually be able to show a scientific base after all.
But this is fMRI fine tuning it. Amazing to think they may one day get it down to science huh.
It is amazing & fascinating stuff for sure! I think you may be right about Ressler too........ there are quite a few comments at the end of that article and someone made reference to him & the fMRI.

That would make sense. Maybe she has a sugar daddy

The 21 yr. old 'pool boy' is Stacy's nephew that she brings along. I know nothing about KW other than seeing her the 4 times I was there and on Dr. Drew. She was as nice as could be to everyone. Isn't everyone here a true crime junkie in this case, so why hate her for that?
I always wondered that, too. She's doing what we wish we all could be doing! I don't think of her as a celebrity that I'd want an autograph from, but she seems nice and as interested in this case as I am. I think it could be a fun conversation.
