I don't understand how she got that much money in there as they say. The MCSO says inmates can only have up to $250 month deposited on their books. Supposedly some man deposited $200 in her account at the kiosk at the jail and then another $800 a week later. Doesn't make sense according to their rules. Olga, go to the MCSO.org and you can read up on it there. But not sure about the family getting their hands on it as they haven't filed their civil suit yet. Please let me know what you find out. I knew someone who was there a while back as an unsentenced, After they are sentenced they transfer to State Prison which is leaner than County Jail. Anyway the jail provides to men 2 rolls of TP a month and females get 4. He got sick from the food and ran out of TP....they would not give him more and he could not afford the TP in the canteen at that time yet. He complained to deputies and they just made it worse on him. Also took him 3 days to see a nurse to get some Immodium...10 lbs lighter. It is not easy to get stuff there at all....so they depend on the help from family and friends to put $$ on their books to buy those little pencils, paper, postage, envelopes, extra snacks or toiletries. 8 months later his charges were dismissed. I did put $25 on his account as a Christmas gift that year. Anyway, as I hear State Prision is better.

Ironically, Arias quoted Scott M Peck's 'The Road Less Traveled' in her interrogation video with Flores: "dedication to reality at all costs". Scott M Peck was essentially addressing 'emotional' pain', or better yet, the pain of 'facing the truth'! Sandy Arias (IMO), is no more able to do this than her daughter! Unless you go 'through' that pain, and not 'around' it, it will ALWAYS be with you! And it will ALWAYS be with Sandy Arias! As for Jodi, it is so much worse! She has proved, time & time again, that she will go to ANY LENGTHS to preserve her [false] ego! She is, in essence, the exact opposite of what Scott M Peck was talking about! That alone, points to the fact she is mentally ill. She does not get it. I think she has much more then BPD. She knows what she is doing but c'mon, who ever heard of giving an interview BEFORE the sentencing phase,where she could very likely get the death penalty? Convicted Murderer Jodi Arias Didn't Turn Mother Away From Psych Ward: She's Out Of Visitation Hours Until Sunday, Says Friend

Jodi Arias is being held in the psych ward of the county jail following her first-degree murder conviction in the death of Travis Alexander and RadarOnline.com has exclusively learned why her mother Sandy Arias was turned away from visiting her daughter Thursday night.
Shortly after 5 p.m. Sandy and her twin sister entered the Lower Buckeye Jail, which was reported by HLN?s Nancy Grace, but they quickly exited the building just a few minutes later.

Donavan Bering , the former inmate who has maintained a relationship with Jodi spoke with her Thursday night and told Radar what happened.

“All her visit time was up until Sunday,” Donavan explained via text message.

She said that Jodi is in the same jail system even though she’s been moved to another location and she confirmed that she was able to speak with via the telephone.

Jodi won’t be back in court until Wednesday for the aggravation phase of her trial and Donavan told Radar that the guilty verdict has been a trying and emotional experience for her and Jodi.

“I’m doing the best I can, just as she is,” Donavan said. Donutvan reiterated to Radar that she removed Jodi’s Twitter account and that any other account that claims to be Jodi is fake, as are websites that are claiming to raise money for Jodi to hire new defense attorneys.

“It was me and only me, no one else,” she said about the decision to suspend the controversial account, but maintains that it will be back up in a few days.

For the past few weeks, this has been routine for Wick, a 27-year-old Glendale woman, who has rarely missed a day of the proceedings.

Yesterday we reported that a motion was filed regarding victim impact statements.

Garry Scarff, a member of this page, advises the following:

Beth Karas now has a copy of Nurmi's motion regarding videotaped impact statements. Nurmi has filed for all victim impact statements - State and def. - be videotaped to prevent emotional outbursts in front of the jury, especially when Travis' siblings take the stand.

The def. attorneys on HLN say the motion will be denied and Nurmi knows it, but he filed to placate Arias who was "disturbed" by the family's reaction yesterday when the verdict was read.

According to convicted felon Donavan Bering, Arias' Twitter will be back up in a couple of days.

Bering reiterated to RadarOnline that she removed Arias' Twitter and that any other account claiming to be Arias is fake - as are websites raising money for new def. attorneys.

Great post, OBH. I have always thought that Arias is a true psychopath although I appreciate there is commonality with sociopathic traits. The first paragraph states, "They know the difference beaten right and wrong but dismiss it as applying to them". That would have made a stronger Defense strand than the weak Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder psychological dagnosis offered. I doubt Arias allowed the a defense Team much room for manoeuvre, so convinced was she that her lies would be bought by the jury.

One of the pointers that Arias isn't a sociopath is her lack of concern what people think of her. She knew that TA's friends thought of her as a stalker, a 'skank' an obsessed freak, etc but non of that bothered her or stopped her. She was absolutely goal orientated and everything was a means to that end. She still is. There is more wrong with her than just BPD. I am convinced she will kill again and would killed The Hughes if the police hadn't arrested her.

But there's a tribute video out there, and part of it is him as Eddie Snell. It's set up with his pals [he is Eddie Snell] and he's asking them if they now want to sign to a policy (I guess?), after hearing his talk. When they give excuses as to why they can't, he pretends to beat them up, and nicks their dosh. This made me LMAO! Maybe that says more about me, but it appealed to my sense of humor!

Defense probably tried to admit that to show Travis' strength, and potential for violence (arf, arf)! Fail!

I don't like motivational speakers, and I have to admit, that I hated 'The Secret', book and video! And JA has just ruined the law of attraction for me! One thing I am grateful for, is that she never mentioned Eckhart Tolle (who refused to participate in 'The Secret'), whose writings I am inspired by, and I'll quote him here, in reference to the situation Jodi now finds herself in:

I don't find the Eddie Snell thing funny either but the audience certainly seems to. The whole PrePaidLegal business left me cold. Travis gave it his all and I admire that but the company is not one I would give credence to. I started this trial not warming to Travis Alexander. The sex tape, religious hypocrisy and PrePaidLegal selling didn't build an attractive picture of him. Neither did Eddie Snell. It didn't matter what I thought though as the evidence showed that he had been brutally slaughtered by a self-serving psychopath.

Slowly, Juan Martinez built up a picture of Travs that was more just. A friend of his posted a YouTube video of him being very natural, using hyperbole and it made me laugh. Travis was a warm, fun and funny guy. He was a loved, loving human being and deserved to live his life to the full. His family and friends have reclaimed him from Arias' malicious, evil lies. The Travis Alexander most people were introduced to at the start of the trial was a one-dimensional fiction invented by a murderer.

People are fascinated by extreme evil. They always have been. It is possible to extract goodness and human decency from the most terrible tales. Children's fairy stories have often been laced with horror but the moral of the story usually emerges clearly. Arias is of no importance or value but the message that good can and will triumph is as important as ever. Travis Alexander's family speak to us all about loss and pain, unimaginable cruelty and deeply touching humanity. Arias will be brushed to the background when the next vile murderer goes to trial, just as Anthony has been. The family and friends of Alexander will not fade from our memories, nor will their brother.

I said a few times, he wasn't anyone I would like to hang around much in real life. But, just because "I" wouldnt hang in his circle doesn't mean shit, I'd support his right to live, not be slaughtered and robbed of his chance at life however he wanted to live it. We are all sinners so it is easy for me to seperate his from law. Ive never been one to think any life is more or less valuable than the next. A prostitute's killer or a minister's killer, all the same to me .. if you take a life, you should lose yours is my personal feeling. There are a lot crimes, but taking a life is the one that is permanent, they can't undo to make any amends. I'm not a strong advocate for the DP or against it, but when it is so clear cut, confession, I do believe it is a just penalty.
I disagree about remembering though. For those of us that don't know them, I think one day the family will fade as will a lot of the 'facts' of this case. Give it a decade and people will be saying remember, 'I forget' what or who .. about something in this sad tale. Heck, we already here some of that. Just too much to remember.

Makes me question, how does she email that from jail? They dont have internet access in jail.
I read on the Sheriff's site, he only lets them have post cards on incoming mail. : ) What an idea! Saves the county a ton of money, cut staff needed, cut contraband coming in, therefore cut in jail violence etc. He can really be an ass in some ways, but is a real Einstein (haha) when it comes to managing those jails.
