There is no way that interview happened without his okay.

In Arias' psychopathic head, she is paying chess for control. She knew that the spotlight and applause would be for the jury, Juan Martinez, Detective Flores and Travis Alexander's loved ones. This was their moment of 'glory'. That is what the news would have been focusing on that night. The world's most disgusting media whore wasn't going to allow them to bask in her spotlight, so she wrenched it from them with calculated precision. The conditions she set for the timing of the interview (recorded phone call to Fox on Sunday) highlight her bone chilling cunningness.

Result. The attention on Wednesday evening was back on Arias fully. Next stage, attempt to reduce the impact of the family's court statements with the bonus of annoying them too. She knows that the world wants to see Juan Martinez in court after his victory - instead, the media will be talking about poor little slaughtering Arias. Did she freak out? Is she genuinely ill? Goal achieved. Psychopaths are very goal driven and Arias key aim is control. Doesn't matter that she is only delaying the inevitable. Her time under the warmth of the spotlight is running out and this lizard of a woman needs all the media heat she can get for now.
I completely agree with both of these posts.

Can you imagine a man convicted of murder doing an interview right after his conviction? It really is like she's a talking animal that doesn't realize people are so interested in it because it's a talking animal.

Seems like the court, her lawyers and most all involved, are inabling her to all this. I'm wondering, like allot of people are, why she wasn't put in handcuffs after the verdict was read. She is wanting to stay in control till the very end. Sickning!!!

My thoughts exactly gigiann! Makes me wonder how she is really treated in jail. I know the Sheriff A. is tough but I'm sure she'll try and munipulate all there. Just a little info. I lived about a mile from Tavis's home in Mesa, in 2008. Just moved a year ago to Michigan. My husband and I were in Mesa for 14 years. It's hard to believe anyone can be so brutal and I'm so glad she gt M!.

Thank You for rejoining me back on Facebook, as you guys know my last Page and Group were taken down because of supposed threats I made to Nancy Grace, after all she said about Jodi on here, yet they ban me. The petition will be back up for a new trial with adequate counsel. and THANKS TO ALL THE NEW follwers, you guys are a TRUE GOD SEND, be blessed.

although I have to admit, this sounds more like a JA kind of statement:

    Kavonna Arias

Despite the idiots and the threats I receive, I will forever try to clear my cousins image.

it was an interesting glimpse into Jodi's famly. I probably would have said "her mom" as opposed to saying "my aunt" or perhaps she isn't fond of Jodi's mom. I think the stoppage until Wednesday might just be from her Atty's angry with her over that interview. They may have tried to use it as grounds to leave her case. Or she just plain had a snit.

Jodi is the one who built her defense, (they didn't make up this shit, she did) I am sure they tried to advise her that this defense of blaming the victim was a BAD IDEA. By the way Nurmi was pushing heat of passion in his closing you can almost tell that that is the route he wanted to go with the whole defense, but Jodi wasn't having it. She didn't do anything wrong in her eyes and expected to walk out of that jail with no consequence to her actions. I am sure that when prepping her for the stand they told her NOT to lie. You can tell that when she was spewing her loads of bullshit while testifying that they were learning things that they didn't know anything about and couldn't rebound from. She is the one who got herself convicted, these 2 shot their careers to shit because of this case, and she repays them by going on national TV and giving an interview. If there was yelling after the verdict this was probably why. I do not like them but I do feel a little bad for them.

In the manner of all the Disneyworld commercials, I would recommend that FoxNews come up with a new promo:

"Jodi Arias, you've just been convicted of First Degree Murder, what are you going to do next?"

"I'm going to interview with Fox News"

Add a little ticker tape and people cheering, and I think they'd have a winner!

I just read a tweet that said JA is trying to fire her DT or that her DT is trying to fire themselves. I wonder if there is any merit to these?

Both certainly within the realm of possibility. I'd think DT felt her interview blew their chance at providing effective council. And I can see Jodi not wanting to work with/rely upon her mitigation specialist because she's a woman and Jodi no likey women for the most part.

Judge needs to deny, deny, deny!
My take on it is, it is more weak scattered nonsense from Nurmi and nothing to fear at all. Interesting in all that he fails to mention Victims Rights are accepted in
    Federal Law
    United States Supreme Court
    Arizona Constitution

And the few limited cases he cherry picks are before 2004. Things he fails to acknowlege :) are ....
In October of 2004, President Bush signed the Justice for All Act into law, which included the Crime Victims? Rights Act (?CVRA?).214 This Act
included the right of victims ?to be heard at any public proceeding in the district court involving release, plea, sentencing, or any parole proceeding.?
    2006
In 2006, the Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit heard the first testcase relating to the CVRA in Kenna v. U.S. District Court for the Central
    District of California
The Payne case he inserts was a landmark decision FOR victims rights
    http://supreme.justia.com/cases/fede.../808/case.html

The U.S Supreme Court in Payne v Tennessee reverses its earlier decisions & rules that testimony & prosecutorial arguments on the victim?s good character & victim impact statements do not violate the defendant?s constitutional rights
However, assessment of the harm caused by the defendant has long been an important factor in determining the appropriate punishment, and victim impact evidence is simply another method of informing the sentencing authority about such harm.
And imo one of the more eloquent parts of the Payne decision
We are now of the view that a State may properly conclude that, for the jury to assess meaningfully the defendant's moral culpability and blameworthiness, it should have before it at the sentencing phase evidence of the specific harm caused by the defendant.

"[T]he State has a legitimate interest in counteracting the mitigating evidence which the defendant is entitled to put in, by reminding the sentencer that just as the murderer should be considered as an individual, so too the victim is an individual whose death represents a unique loss to society and in particular to his family."
18 U.S.C. Section 3771, gave victims the right to speak at sentencing hearings.
In its decision, the appeals court made the following three important points: (1) in passing the Crime Victims' Rights Act, it was the intent of Congress to allow victims to speak at sentencing hearings, not just to submit victim impact statements; (2) victims have a right to speak even if there is more than one criminal sentencing; and (3) the remedy for a crime victim denied the right to speak at a sentencing hearing is to have the sentence vacated and a new sentencing hearing held in which the victims are allowed to speak. This decision is an important step in securing the rights of crime victims.

There can be limits placed, time limits, irrelevant to the crime, just to flame emotions etc . The purpose is not a free for all to lay into the defendant.
The right is to 'balance' the court. IOWs a fair chance to balance against the mitigation where the courts have long provided the Defendant the 'right' to try to tell the jury / judge their "unique" indiviual character in support of mitigation evidence.

Payne decision even the field! It is a fair right to show the 'unique' character of the victim and the "harm" done (aggravators) by this crime being committed.

The Justia link is long, but will slow days ahead, well worth the read!
Here is one short snip ... the "Petitioner' here is the defendant Payne that was appeling (and lost)
"[Petitioner's attorney] wants you to think about a good reputation, people who love the defendant and things about him. He doesn't want you to think about the people who love Charisse Christopher, her mother and daddy who loved her. The people who loved little Lacie Jo, the grandparents who are still here. The brother who mourns for her every single day and wants to know where his best little playmate is. He doesn't have anybody to watch cartoons with him, a little one. These are the things that go into why it is especially cruel, heinous, and atrocious, the burden that that child will carry forever."

UGh, rumor and media feeding frenzy and speculating with not a damn thing to support their BS but giving Arias' mega attention just as she planned.
In reading laws on Def motion, I couldn't stop thinking, how quickly killer managed to push Travis aside on all channels and get attention right back on her.
Then the "Uniquie individual" stuck out to me!

"Uniqueness" of the victim Travis Alexander

The killer manipulates again to dehumanize the victim. The reign of "Justice" is being attacked! Another attempted murder to steal the life out of this verdict and remove the 'evidence' Headlines that Travis' life was something to honor and remember. Arias is stealing the attention on Justice in as calculated and premeditated manner as the First Degree Murder she's been found guilty of committing.

Arias' latest stunt was immediate. Her goal to smother the love and outpouring that glowed upon Travis. As the queen of evil, she's enticing people, manipulating via feelings of anger and hate to glean attention. No one knows better than Arias, hate is powerful if you give in to it! She will entice you at every turn for attention. She is trying to shoot down any celebration of Justice or Travis Alexander's life. Every attempt in her is obsessed with ways to continue to dehumanize him, kill him again and again. Keep the focus on herself thereby attempting to diminish Travis.

I ask we not give this killer what she desires!
Individually and thereby collectively we can stand strong.
WE can be a voice for Travis Alexander.
WE can each give our Victims Statement publicly!
Cry out against feeing her ego giving her any attention.
Cry out against empty Hours of speculation with many talking heads added to a panel that do nothing more than aid this evil queen rewarding her with headlines and hours of attention. Hours wasted! Empty without facts. Precious hours that should be highlighting Travis' life.

I hope we each find our voice for Travis!
Take back the power of Justice!

I suggest we impose a 'public' death sentence if you will.
Ignore her, she is nothing, she barely exists.
It will be difficult. It will require suppressing attention you are tempted to give the killer.
Send our own form of Victims Statements to demand programs like HLN focus on Travis not the killer. Text, FB, email or use your OFF button to insist this time and spotlight is placed back on the victims amazing life.
If media refuses to hear your Victims Statement, black them out!
Ratings taking deep falls is a loud voice!
No matter how tempted, resist queen evil's temptation to draw you into her web.
If a jury can discipline themselves for 5 months, surely we can resist the killer now.
Ignore the killer?s attention seeking acts, swat her away, give her no more power than you give a bothersome gnat.

Folks. Take my word for it. "Trust me," (and not in the Beverley Hills way where it's a euphemism for "f*** you.) Like any big event, this Trial attracts people who enjoy giving out the impression that they are at the center of things. Nothing you hear can be given any credibility unless it comes with a citation back to an original source--and that's the Court. The Media is rehashing and spinning all sorts of crap just to keep the momentum going. As for the attitude of the people officially connected to the court, from the Sheriff's Deputies to the Judge, they are very tight-lipped. I can best put it this way. "The Public is invited but not welcomed."

    Trust me.

Lorizfree! Clear out your Inbox. It's not accepting anymore PM's. Did not see Dr. Drew or hear the name of Dr. Drew while I was down at the courthouse yesterday. I could be wrong. The fiirst time I heard about him being there was on this blog. Things happened the way I described it in my post. It's possible I didn't see everything. Katie and her little group are tight-lipped and act like insiders. They don't share outside of themselves.

Katie's group consists of herself, her blonde-haired female cohort and a twenty-one year-old young male who just completed the semester at a local community college and is working the summer as a landscaper. That's it. The only way they distinguish themselves from the rest of the trial watchers there is that they huddle in a tight closed circle whenever they are talking to anyone else; reserve their spots in the pecking order by placing some article on the seats; and, get there very early to grab the first places in line.
They obviously have motives and objectives that are distinct from those of the rest of the folks, i.e. to be at, and to be seen to be at, and to be part of the center of the action.

    Enuf!

Troy Hayden is the one that had the interview with her in January that was plastered all over the news with her jailbird buddies holding the "Free Jodi" placards. It was a very pro-Jodi story. He has been 'courting' her to get the scoop. Couldn't he at least give Travis' family one day without her getting in her lies?
