I just watched Dr. Drew and heard that Jodi's mom was refused visitation at the jail psych unit. There's only one reason the staff would refuse the visit and that is that Jodi is in restraints or locked seclusion. Many of you wanted Jodi to have a complete meltdown in court...to flip her shit...to go berzzerk, I think she did. Im guessing (and again this is based upon working in forensic psychiatry) she is full of rage that is either self-directed or directed at the staff.
And flung poo at the guards, and smeared it all over her cell.... They had to carry her out.
I want her to get the death penalty not so much because I want her to die..but I want her to be isolated. If she gets LWOP she will be in general population and socializing and living a life..at least some kind of life....I want her on death row...isolated and alone..almost no human contact and no spotlights shining on her....THAT would be the ultimate punishment for her

Haven't read the thread since this a.m., so, without doing it, here's my short version of what happened, (more accurately, what didn't happen), in court today.
Got there at 10:30 a.m., well in advance of the scheduled 1:00 p.m. starting time set for the Aggravation Phase. Secured seat number six which definitely put me in a position to get into this phase of the trial. (Thanks Faq for being at the end of the telephone for the periodic progress reports I was trying to send out while waiting for the big moment). The crowd was sparse at the trial watcher's end of the floor and, of course, all the talk was about yesterday's verdict--and lots and lots of rehashing the details that have been talked about since almost the beginning. Folks aren't sated by the simple Guilty verdict. They still want to discuss how it came to be. Everybody has their own version of what went on in the Juror's minds and in that room. Nobody knows exactly, but that doesn't stop anyone from speculating.
Katie and her two companions arrived a little later and occupied seats 7, 8 and 9.
Just around noon, Tanisha Alexander appeared with the intention of greeting the people waiting and to thank them for their support. It was touching and everybody got a hug. Classy lady! Especially double classy in the circumstances and as gracious and humble as anyone could be.
We waited, until about 1:20 and watched the priority people get off the elevators and enter the courtroom, (Jurors, Press, etc.) A few minutes later, one of the Alexanders' friends appeared, (the blonde lady from Salt Lake City who was Travis's freind) and invited and escorted Katie and her two friends into the courtroom. (That pissed some people off. What's this with the priority treatment and the gatekeeper role? They're just other members of the trial watching public, etc.) Ten minutes after that, one of the female bailiffs appeared, stopped about twenty feet away and announced, "No Court today," turned and left. That was it!! I waited a bit then walked up to the courtroom doors to see if I could find out what was going on. They were locked. I didn't see what happened to the people who had gone inside earlier. They either left when I wasn't looking or were still inside. Beth Karas, Jean Kasaras(what's her name?) and another HLN/CNN reporter were there discussing some aspect of the case amongst themselves and Beth was explaining the intricacy of the law in a particular circumstance. I didn't really grasp what the issue was since I heard only part of the conversation. I introduced myself, told them how much I appreciated their analysis of the issues during various points of the Trials I'd seen them cover and they responded warmly and graciously. The other reporter, told me about covering the story of the guys who planned to blow up the train back east but were caught before they could carry out the plan. We had a little chat, he thanked me for the insights I shared with him, (it happened in my part of the world and I know the community these guys came from.)
At that point, nobody had any idea why court had been cancelled. This was known. Martinez was there ready to go and he had Dr. Kevin Horn on deck ready to put him on the stand. Anybody can say anything they want about Juan-about his intense, hyper approach to witnesses; frantic pace, losing his train of thought, etc., etc., but he is the one figure in this whole trial who has been as steady as a rock and always there to do his duty. Today was more proof of that.
I went downstairs and outside stood around for a while watching Jane VM filming parts of her broadcast set for this evening. Some facts: Arias family left through the back door, (Jefferson St?) and walked alone to the parking lot and took off. Grandma was in a wheelchair. Alexander family also left through the back door with a court-security escort. Speculation is that Jodi Arias had some sort of a psychic breakdown when her lawyers confronted her about her interview with Fox 10; she was being held in the psych ward, (cells) of the jail, etc. etc. Nothing was confirmed at that time--it was all speculation. It's obvious that Arias was the cause of the cancellation. The trial will not resume until next Wednesday. I'll be gone. I gave it two of my best but it looks like I'll never get into that courtroom when the action is going on. Jodi ruins everything.

The Sheriff department knew about this on Sunday and they didn't have to let media into the holding cell area after the verdict. They could have, at minimum made her wait to do the interview until she got back to the Estrella Jail..oh i agree! if you look closely in the interviews from last night, you can actually see tears running down her cheek, i think she thought she was going to get off on these charges or at the worst manslaughter and get time served, maybe be out in a couple of years, she is that much of a narcissist - i also think that is why she set up the interview - so between the verdict and having a 1000 ppl on the court house steps celebrating, it totally rocked her world, that not every body loves her, so she is prolly a little suicidal now, but i bet she will get over it and starts fighting back soon - oh and plus now that she is convicted of m1, she also loses all her priveledges, her cell mate, her jailhouse fan club - yeah this rocked her little world - oh and i guess this will ruin her plan to move to europe w/ her gf and have her invitro baby
FOX10 Phoenix had to get permission from the MCSO to get into the holding cell area so the excuse/story they didn't know is straight out bullshit.

There was an ex parte meeting with the Felon and her attorneys with the Judge in chambers. Probably a fight over who was first trying fire the other.
She is doing what she always does to get attention, because it works. All of last night, this morning leading up the scheduled court session at 1pm and then the rest of today has been all about HER. Not the jury's decision, not the Alexander family and certainly not Travis Alexander, the real victim in this case.
