I asked this after the verdict and didn't see where it was answered. I know things move super fast and moved even faster after that FABULOUS M1 Guilty verdict!
Here goes....during the aggrivation/mitigation phases, will the prosecution be allowed to present evidence/info that was deemed "too prejudicial" for the trial? If anyone knows, I'd appreciate it =) Thanks, in advance!!
Can someone spell out what the remaining steps are in this case?
pretty please!!!![]()
I wonder if this is referring to Jodi's family giving victim impact statements via video on her behalf? Family members of the defendant are usually allowed to make impact statements too, so I wonder if this request was filed because some of Jodi's family, like her father, cannot travel to Phoenix due to health and maybe financial hardships.

I've been staring at that creature for 4 months now & have discovered that it's taken me to a place I really don't want to be -- if I get in touch with The Real Crazy part of me, here's what I see: The woman has no wrinkles. I don't care how old she is, a normal person starts to get wrinkles after a while. From smiling. From grinning. From laughing. From frowning. From worrying. From stressing. From emotions. The woman doesn't have a wrinkle on her face. Plus her eyes are dead. I think there's a serious flaw in her DNA that's turned her into (for want of a better word) a sort of mutant. Not in the X-Files way; in a way that makes her just a vacuum inside. (See? This is what happens when a person stares at her too long!)
I think she's beyond fucked-up but I do NOT think she's crazy. I think she's cold and calculating and just does not give one fuck. She's doing what she wants to do; as somebody said last night, "That's just Jodi being Jodi," which is just horrific.
I also think that she must've gone seriously off her rocker when the Boston bombing happened. In the middle of her trial! How dare they! Must've seriously pissed her off to have that attention diverted from her.
And finally, I think what little there is inside her is going to be completely erased as soon as the Next New, Big Thing comes along. And it will; it always does. Pretty soon, a more terrible person who did a more terrible thing is going to come on the scene, steal her thunder and she'll pretty much disappear. And I'm betting that's the last thing she wants, but it'll happen and the attention will be focused elsewhere. Fuck you, arias.
Was Nurmi even there yesterday? I only saw Jenn and Maria.
So Jodi was wearing this last night....

Terrific. First time & double-post. Sorry.![]()
Has her entire post conviction interview been posted anywhere!? I'm exhausted watching the same 4 minutes and they said there were 45 minutes of interview. If anyone knew, I'm sure it's someone here at MDS.
There are links a few pages back in this thread. Sorry on mobile and can't quote and it's annoying to go search for them.
Welcome !!
True concerning the wrinkles... I smile a lot, & HAVE the wrinkles to prove it :)

Aggravation phase
Sentencing phaseTomorrow at 4:00 p.m. ET, the case will move on to the aggravation phase, which will be like a miniature trial.
The prosecution will have a chance to present additional evidence in an attempt to prove Alexander?s death was caused in a cruel manner. Arizona law defines this as when the victim suffers physical pain or mental anguish, and the defendant knew or should have known that the victim would suffer.
The jury would then deliberate for a second time to determine if the aggravating factor of cruelty is proven beyond a reasonable doubt. The jurors must agree unanimously about whether Arias is guilty of cruelty.
http://www.hlntv.com/article/2013/05...-trial-verdictIf the jury does not find Arias guilty of cruelty, the case ends and the judge will set a sentencing date within 30 to 60 days. At the sentencing, the judge will decide whether to sentence Arias to life in prison without parole, or life with parole eligibility after 25 years.
If the jury decides cruelty is proven beyond a reasonable doubt, the case moves to the sentencing phase.
This is the defense?s opportunity to ask the jury for leniency and present evidence supporting why Arias should be spared from the death penalty. Witnesses may include Arias? friends and family. Arias could also make a statement to the jury pleading for her life to be spared.
The jury then deliberates for a third time to determine whether Arias should be sentenced to life or death. Their decision must be unanimous. In the case of a deadlock, a mistrial would be granted and a new jury would be chosen for this phase only.
If the jury votes for the death penalty, Arias would be sentenced immediately, and she is likely to be sent to death row within hours.
If the jury chooses a life sentence instead, the judge will set a sentencing date within 30 to 60 days and, at that time, will sentence Arias to life in prison without parole or life with eligibility for parole after 25 years.
No matter what the verdict is, if Arias is sentenced to jail time she will get credit for the four-and-a-half years she has been incarcerated awaiting trial.
Love it, sounds perfect to me! You are so inventive!!
I agree, very well said. I have said all along that she is empty inside. Like a facsimile of a real person. She has learned some strategies to try and appear normal, but that doesn't make it genuine. I had not thought about it, but I bet the Boston situation did piss her off, for exactly the reasons you say.
