That's a good point regarding her wanting him to know why he was being killed. We all know how verbose Jodi is and how she must share her every thought with the world. For example, her journals, her 18 page letter to his family, her testimony going all the way back to how she liked crayons as a child, her lengthy emails to Travis/Abe, her manifesto, etc. I get the feeling that she was threatening Travis in those pictures on June 4 and likely had plenty to say to him, ad nauseam; he looks scared/concerned to me. We'll never really know the full truth of what he went through that day. But, he sure had her pegged in that 5/26 message. Glad he was able to tell her what a shit she is.

Yes. That sitting picture is by far the most telling. There is no reason for him to be sitting in that cramped shower. The last picture of his face has snot running out of his nose. Somehow, I don't think snot goes with sexy shower pictures. She was letting him know what she wanted him to know at that point. I'm also of the firm belief that the flash of the camera would have blinded him temporarily. Seems that most of the flash pictures are at the end of the sequence. When they showed his eyeball (during the questioning of the eyeball reflection) I couldn't see a person in that reflection, but I could see a bright flash.

Oh and I got paid normal wages from work since it was jury duty, but I also got paid $12.00 a day by the court for the first two weeks and then it went up to about $20/day after that.

During juror interviews, the judge pretty much dismissed anyone who said that they couldn't remain impartial due to missing work.

I find it seriously disturbing that our jurors are paid $12/day (plus gas for the mileage from the court to their zipcode) and yet her defense has cost nearly $2 million.

I know that it is part of our civic duty, but $12/day is ludicrous. And, I remember after my day of jury selection (with judge Stephens actually) receiving my check for like $2 for gas ? oh yeah, high rollin!! I made sure to cash it tho, just out of principle!

It is ludicrous. Jurors must have been biting their lips over the payments made to expert witnesses and lawyers when the tax paying jurors receive compensation that pays scant regard to their costs. Jury compensation varies between states, yes? In the UK, jurors can claim costs for travel, food and refreshments and loss of earnings (after day 11 to day 200
Around $200 per day). Child care costs and carer costs can also be claimed for.

Arizona is a pretty tough state, it seems, in terms of prison regimes and jury compensation rules. It is generous in terms of Defense costs though. That peanut butter and mashed potato food diet that prisoners are given looks brutal. Three days if that and I would repent to never commit a crime again.

JA sat in her cell for years concocting her 3rd story. She knew she had to answer certain question that her lawyers knew would arise during testimony.
ie: *How did the knife come into play? (she knew she had to make up something that sounded believable for it to be in the bedroom/bathroom where it normally wouldn't have been.) *** No way to tie someone to a sleigh bed, as Juan tried to describe**

I dont think there was ever a rope. I think Jodi made that up to have a reason for the knife. IMO she would have had Travis take pictures of it. I dont think there is anyway she would let him tie her up and not take a picture. There is also (as far as I have seen) no rope in any of the pictures they did take. So I just can't see it being there.

I don't think so, I remember them discussing it early on in the trial... showing his slippers that were left in his bedroom on the floor before the tile going into the bathroom. Also mentioning the pillows. But not too much elaboration on it.

A small caliber long gun makes significantly less noise than a handgun. Not sure what kind you're referring to, but I have a .22 pistol that is almost as loud as my husband's .40.

A .22 rifle is more like a firecracker in terms of noise...

The sound I'm referring to is from the shooter's perspective. From inside an insulated home, 6 inch studs, stucco exterior the sound will be attenuated outside of that structure.

But for the shooter, the sound is hearing damaging loud. Indoors it would be much worse.

It's why we wear ear protection outdoors in competition.

My ex was a FBI certified firearms instructor and a national falling plates champion for his SWAT team back in the day - we always wore hearing protection when target shooting in situation - indoors or out.

Re: Jodi - It would have been deafeningly loud for her in that confined area of the bathroom - I totally agree - her ears would have rung for a bit from that single shot without hearing protection.

My comment was more geared towards those wondering why no one would have/could have heard the gunshot or Jodi's needing to time T's murder for a specific time of day due to possible noise factors. I may have misunderstood the gun comments - if so, I apologize for my extraneous comment.

I think that if a juror is

a) not getting paid by an employer,
b) is not on Unemployment,
c) is not on Disability, or
d) is not retired,

then he/she should get paid minimum wage for all hours served at the court during the trial, if the trial lasts more than 3 days. Plus transportation costs.

I think it would be reasonable to consider juror time "worth" minimum wage.

I know a lot of people are really over Wilma and Nurmi, but can you all imagine working with Stabby? The job of any defense attorney is to get their client off or, in a DP case, to save the client's life. Did the DT have to crush Travis' credibility? It is really all they had and trashing the victim has been around forever. For most of us, we want to see Stabby found guilty, but I would be willing to listen to credible evidence of her self-defense theory. The problem is, there is just too much evidence that points to pre-med. murder.
The last thing I would ever want is for the Alexander family to go through this shit again. As it is, if Stabby is found guilty and gets the DP, there will be years of hearings and appeals. The Alexander family will more than likely attend every appeal hearing to show solidarity and support for Arias' sentence. I can't imagine how terrible it would be to relive the murder and trial every time.....
Stabby will not be acquitted and she is going away for a long, long time no matter what happens. I don't like the DT tactics, however I am grateful that she got a good defense as it closes another door on that smarmy face.

The DT had a nightmare case because the client is a fuck-up and couldn't keep her mouth shut. After JM's closing (on Thursday) I was watching both Nurmi and Palin and I saw defeat and hopelessness. They both have to know that it is over for Stabby. Shit, I thought Palin was going to quit the defense and ask Juan if she could carry his books home!
Although the tactics disgust me, I think it's commonplace and most defense attorney's would have done the same thing. Palin and Nurmi were doing their job and the job is to save the client. I think both of them fought for Stabby and, if nothing else, it closes the door to an appeal.

Very fair points. I too see why Nurmi and Willmott frustrate the hell out of some trial watchers but they don't really bother me beyond boredom. My contempt is better spent on Arias' mountain of lies, smug arrogance and murderous actions. The Defense must have tried to make their silly client provide more sound material for them to work with. She tried an all or nothing gamble but lost her nerve too late. Arias will appeal everything, to the max so it will be interesting to see how her own attorneys fare in future years. My bet is that they won't escape her wrath.

Nurmi spent ages building up a picture of sexual abuse only for Arias to mock his efforts from the stand by testifying that sex was ALWAYS consensual and that she enjoyed it. You could see him looking at her in despair. Arias' texts betrayed her true feelings too. She wanted to be fucked like a dirty, horny LITTLE schoolgirl. Not an undersized schoolgirl of 16 or 18. Oh, no, a LITTLE schoolgirl. Her shameless hypocrisy - trying to paint Travis as a deviant whilst she encouraged his behaviour could only be missed by an infantile apologist for Arias... or A LaViolette.
