I got the sense that the defense was insinuating without stating so outright that Travis had the non-existent pictures of kiddies stored/hidden in a box either in/near the attic and/or among the upper shelves of Travis' closet.

Just a bullshit tale, as was Arias' lie about Teavis giving her a porcelain angel that she'd left at his house and turned around to go retrieve so Travis wouldn't be all pissed out about how inconsiderate she is, which led to her walking in on him beating his meat to an image of a little boy.

Arias is a sick puppy to even conjure that story up.

I'm not usually a DP fan either, but I honestly think this case calls for it.

I can't speak for the other ladies, but my affection for coconut has nothing to do with his avatar. He is funny and smart and does not take himself too seriously. He reminds us there is another point of view, and he is great at banter.

If you disagree with coconut, he does not endlessly harass you to try and force you to agree that he is right. He does not get hateful and snarky when people disagree with him either, and he does not mock or belittle other posters for their opinion, he just states what his opinion is.

The items in the attic are the foundation of the pedophilia claim by Jodi.

Jodi said she was at Travis' house helping him store his boxes of Christmas decorations in the attic in January 2008. Travis gave her an angel ornament as a keepsake. Jodi forgot the angel ornament when she left that day, so turned around after a couple minutes driving to go back and get it. When she walked into Travis' bedroom to fetch the ornament, that was when she claims she caught Travis whacking off to pictures of little boys. Which is why he started abusing her with violence. Which led to her fear of him. Which is why she had to kill him on June 4th.

Sooooo........ if there was NOTHING in the attic, then it shows the whole story was made up.

No stuff stored in attic = no angel ornament.
No angel ornament = no catching Travis in pedo moment.
No pedo moment = no reason for Travis to start abusing Jodi for 'knowing his secret'.
No abuse = no reason for Jodi to fear Travis.
No reason for fear = no Battered Woman's Syndrome.
No BWS = no valid self defense claim.

thanks again dizzy! So of course, it is more Nurmi BS, geesh. Still leaves the question though, why in the hell did JM let that ride though without clearing it up ????????
I knew the wiki thing long ago was wrong, but someone took the parents out competely from his story there. I found all the other stuff on findagrave.com. Gosh, I don't know how I missed before his mom was only 51 when she passed. Utah is where Norma's other son lives I believe.

She also claimed her called her repeatedly to apologize/explain etc but his phone records, which Juan Martinez confronted her her with, do not back up her claims.

Jeff Gold makes a good point about her big grin for Nurmi's 9/10 days comment.

thanks, I like that guy, interesting take on the smile. Unusually good sounding atty compared to the screamers HLN has.

The phones! she tried to twist it into land lines, JM busted her there too, she didn't have one. She's got more stories just busting to get out. I'll give her that much, she comes up with them on the fly without so much as blinking. Too bad that doesn't work when you are under a murder one microscope. I was in Arizona. Don't like that one, okay I was there, the ninjas did it. Don't like that, ok, I did it. It was self defense. Don't like that, it was a crime of passion.

I thought JM did an great job on knocking down the passion theory.

I'm really glad a juror asked the question about the attic because it completely debunks the whole pedo incident- which was already poorly constructed. My favourite parts of that story was when the picture of the little boy floats off the bed and falls (in that choatic way that paper does) to her feet and also the part where she waits to drive all the way home before getting sick.

I guess I always wondered 'why' Travis would sit in the shower? They were supposed to be waist-up up shots. It would just gross me out, not matter how clean my shower was, to sit down in it. I always thought this photo was the first shot after the attack - especially since you don't see his face, it's not centered..etc. Thought by this time he was either stabbed/or/shot and the clock had started.

That's definitely a possibility. I would think that Travis would have a hard time getting up, especially in such a small shower, way he was sitting, and being wet and slippery. How ridiculous for Jodi to say that he got right up and body slammed her. For someone who is supposed to have an above normal IQ, she sure is a dumb ass. She makes up the most ridiculous stories. And she's the most stubborn liar I've ever seen. In the face of all conclusive facts, she will not back down. She has zero common sense.

I just want her to be TREATED as though she's on death row for as many years possible. As long as she ultimately gets LWOP, I really don't care. But I want her to sit alone, with little human contact, sitting in her cell, with only the memories of why she's there, haunting her for the rest of her life. I don't think she would suffer enough in a normal prison. Give her death, and let the appeals system work out the rest.

There was no travelling through anything if there's only a single point of penetration. It would indeed be magical if it penetrated the, skull, continued into the brain, deflected off "something" then turned around& exited the brain perfectly through it's own entry wound. Are there two skull perforations?
No. The ME states that the bullet entered the skull, and traveled in a diagonal through the facial tissues until it lodged in his jaw. The bullet never exited Travis's body. I don't know what the basis for your analysis is, but no one here has even suggested that the bullet exited Travis's body.

If not, Crickets did not deserve the serving of shit that was dished out over this. Wouldn't it be more like say, a ball hits a glass window, in some cases the ball smashes right through & continues it's path of damage inside the room. In other cases, the ball wasn't thrown with enough force, or the glass was thicker, so while the window was badly damaged & there's obvious dents/fracturing, the ball was deflected without smashing it's way through into the room - & so far that is what this report sounds like.
No it doesn't. It clearly says the bullet entered Travis's skull. This is fact. The bullet lodged in Travis's cheek. This is fact. The only thing that is not fact is the exact pathway the bullet took. It's impossible to know, because Travis's brain was too decomposed.

This does not change the fact that the bullet entered Travis's skull and went through his face. The bullet is visible in the x-ray. There is only one external bullet injury. There is no exit wound.

For your theory of the ball only damaging the window, the bullet would have lodged in the skull bone or been found outside the body -- and that is not what happened. Even if the ME made a written mistake, there is no way to override what was found on the x-ray. A single bullet entry wound, and the bullet resting in Travis's jaw.

If the ball was thrown with enough force, it could continue it's path through the room & smash through a 2nd window on the opposite side. It could even bounce off a wall & smash a 2nd hole very NEAR the original point of entry. But what it could never do (or to use something I've heard here a few times, what is so unlikely as to be an unreasonable suggestion) is smash through a window into a room, hit "something" in the room, & then deflect & exit perfectly, right back out through the same hole it smashed on it's way in. THAT idea is the laughable one.
You're correct about the idea that the scenario is laughable. I have not seen it suggested, but I would have pointed out the flaw in that theory immediately, because it's not logical.

All jokes aside, Crickets came in for some pretty heavy fire over this, but if there's only one area of perforation on that skull, like it or not people she's right. & many of you have just contributed to an earlier discussion - is forensic evidence as open to interpretation as psych testimony? Answer : Yep.
That is true to a certain extent. But there are certain facts that can't be argued -- mainly that the bullet is inside Travis's face. Not inside his skull, but inside his face. If you have an alternate theory on how the bullet got there without it breaking through the skull, I would love to hear it. I don't think it's possible.

ETA for anyone worried I'm going to argue & argue, &I know there's at least one person groaning, don't worry, I'm happy to have just the one post up to support Crickets idea & stand against the 50million denouncing it. As long as there's one, that's all that matters.
Good for you. Cricket is entitled to their opinion. But people can and will disagree with Cricket -- or anyone! -- especially if the argument is truly proven to be incorrect. We all take our lumps from time to time. It's not fun, but there's nothing to be done but dust yourself off and find something else to debate.

Well, no, he didn't. Not a peep about frontal lobe injury, 'immediate incapacitation', nothing whatsoever on the subject by the Prosecutor, since the fabulous Dr. Horne was outed on the stand about the dura being intact in his report, courtesy of Dr. Geffner. The silence was deafening. And this silence speaks volumes.

Personally I think she was somehow startled and, after spending a good amount of time at the crime scene, decided she needed to skedaddle(vamoose) her butt out of there a.s.a.p.

I think she bundled up the towel she used to drag his body back to the shower (after wetting the floor) into the sheets along with Travis' clothes. What she missed was the camera got bundled along with rest.

She may have searched around frantically for that, but afraid of getting caught and time pressure mounting she never thought about the laundry room.

The bleach was for the DNA -- it's been on every crime scene t.v. show for years.
