I know! So inspiring. I loved this one too:
"You heard her on the phone, squealing like a cat because she needed two hands." I'm getting misty-eyed just thinking about it...and then there was this one:
"Alyce LaViolette is a liar. Anything she says is contaminated, foul." What a wonderful, touching moment. What a beautiful soul. (sniff)
Then he busts this one out:
"How do I love thee, let me count the lies..." Speechless. Just speechless.
That is a really old atty trick used many times before Nurmi when you have an exceptionally disgusting client you are trying to defend. They theorized it helps them connect with the jury, see, I'm with you, I understand how you see this piece of shit as a piece of shit butthen try and sell them a load of bullshit.

I missed who he was. Biggie posted that he was a friend of Travis'. I don't know if that's true or not, because I didn't see his introduction. But, he basically said that Travis was shot in the shower, rather than stabbed, and that he was at the sink because he was looking at the gun shot wound in the mirror. He also said the blood couldn't have come from the chest wound, but had to have been the gun shot to the head; and that Travis then walked down the hall, where Jodi attacked him.
I have an issue with that because while some of the blood could be drops dripping from wounds, there is obvious "spray", which sounds like it was aspirated. Dr Horn mentioned that the lung could have been pierced, which would also add to the aspiration of blood, meaning he was choking on it as it was entering the lung, and so he was coughing it up.
To me, there is not spray from a gun shot to the face. Yes, his sinuses were impacted where the bullet lodged, but there are many things wrong with this way of thinking. The first being the lack of hemorrhaging in the face/head. If there was aspiration, there had to be hemorrhage. Dr. Horn said there was none. Unless Travis was shot at the sink, I don't believe there would have been "spray" of blood. Yes, he was stabbed in the head and neck, but again, those were not fully penetrating wounds and I don't believe that would've caused him to aspirate blood through his nose and/or mouth. Certainly not to the extent that we see on the sink.
Second, it seems as though the doctor on Dr. Drew was saying that no other parts of the attack occurred in the bathroom, but rather in the hall. That doesn't jive with the amounts of blood in the bathroom, and the various locations of the blood.
And thirdly, the bullet casing trajectory does not work if Travis was shot while seated in the shower, from the photo sequence -- which is what this doctor claims. It doesn't work because Travis' body would positioned the wrong way, with his left should against the back of the shower. IF he was shot there, the bullet casing -- which would eject to the right -- would be on the opposite side of bathroom from where it was found.

It seems like she thought it was an endearing moment, like "oh that jodi! can't live with her can't live without her!" kind of thing. I thinks she was also probably just attempting to show off to the jury what a sweet and good humoured person she is to be able to have a little laugh at a comment like that.
Well she is a freak and not wired right so her responses are often inappropriate. Maybe that is why he used every opportunity to call her a three hole.wonder..... which he must have said fifty times at least or so it seems. He really did not like her and she threatened suicide when he tried to withdraw. They should have called her bluff on that threat.
I am sick of the sight and sound of that unholy trinity

I'm a humanitarian so I'm trying to look at the DP as a cure for those debilitating migraines from which JA suffers.
I find it strange that the defense team has harped on Travis being so mean to Jodi. "Character assassination", etc. Yet her own attorney says that he doesn't even like her 9 days out of 10?! And then she laughs?!?!?! So she likes it? Or she doesn't? I don't get it. I would think it would have been even MORE devastating for her to hear that from the man who's trying to save her life...So bizarre.
Do you know if this is verdict alert only, or general alerts about any breaking news?
I agree.
So you think a quote from John Donne and a comment about squealing like a cat are the same?
Right then, glad we sorted that out.
Whether you disliked some of his other comments at different moments in his closing or not, my point was that ending with the John Donne quote was eloquent. Perhaps you should try not to be exactly what you dislike so much in others...someone who mindlessly paints everything with the same brush.

It was great that HLN had no commercials for Juan!
I don't believe we were ever given an official explanation. It's been speculated on though; with one claim being comments that Juror 5 allegedly made. Supposedly she said something to the effect of " with how much money the attorneys are making, you would think they could get us jurors more comfortable chairs." That's paraphrased from what I recall hearing. No idea if this is even possibly the real reason, just the only thing we've really heard.

What a day! Nurmi saying he doesnt like Jodi is a defense strategy, nothing more. If you were able to see it replayed on split screen, Jodi started to smile before Nurmi got the full sentence out. With Jodi's abandonment issues being as severe as they are, the defense team probably prepared her for days. Otherwise we would see her eyes unlock and show her rage and panic.

I agree, wrong client to try this with. George doesn't pay his child support, or John cheats on his wife, maybe .. but with a violent murder like this one was a fail.
Hey did you notice in the after court video, Willmutt seemed to disappear while Nurmi and JM were still around?
