    1. I don't believe anything she says, but 2. I agree with you Sneakers: I think most of us would stipulate that getting shot in the head (OR being stabbed in the chest) put a "hitch in his giddy-up" and he's not going to be posing any threat to her at that point.

    Let's assume for discussion that Jodi's lie about the gun being Travis' is true...

If it's double-action -- she would not have to cock the hammer, but the trigger pull would be harder & longer.

    The other way most people will keep a loaded semi-automatic pistol is "cocked & locked". Magazine in, bullet chambered, hammer cocked but safety on. This requires you flip the safety level to fire the gun.

    The least likely way for anyone with any common sense would keep a semi-auto handgun is with a bullet chambered, cocked if SA, and the safety off. This is the only way anyone with no knowledge of firearms would reasonably be able to pick up a gun and pull the trigger to discharge the weapon. We refer to this method of storing a gun as unsafe.

    So, storing a handgun in any of the most likely ways would require her to at least look down at the gun in her hand to find the safety, flip it off, then look up & acquire a target & pull the trigger.

    Remember when she was on the stand retelling her self-defense story for the second or third time, and when she got to the part about how she grabbed the gun off the closet shelf that day with Travis chasing her, she threw in something about the gun being in a holster? She had never mentioned anything about a holster before. I remember thinking at the time "wait, WHAT? holster??" It was such a WTF moment...why would she throw in a totally random fictional detail like that, that could only hurt her credibility even more? It's almost like a form of Tourette's syndrome, uncontrollable fits of lying...

    Yeah, the holster! That was unreal.

    Aside from the premeditation angle I think the other reason she came up with the shooting him first lie because she was trying to explain the blood in/on the sink area.

    When she testified she said they were in the sink area when she shot him.

    Hey everyone. I came across this and thought it was kind of neat and maybe some would be interested



    How to Interpret Blood Spatters

    1) Angular - If the victim was on the move, drops hit at an angle. The more oblique the impact, the longer the drop?s tail. The head points in the direction the person was traveling.

    2) High Velocity - Misty, diffuse spatter is created by external force greater than 100 feet per second ? which usually means a gunshot, an explosion, or (seriously) a sneeze.

    3) Hair Impact - A traumatic impact between head and surface tends to leave a stain with feathered edges, like someone squished a loaded paintbrush against the wall.

    4) Hair Swipe - If the smear fades out in one direction, the head was likely bloody before contact. The lightest edge of the swipe points in the direction the head was traveling.

    5) Fabric Swipe - More fluid than hair swipes, these stains sometimes display the imprint of the bloodied clothing. T-shirt weaves are often the easiest patterns to decipher.
