I don't think the jury is going to buy any self defense. I think they have made up their minds already and like most people that have been following this trial she is guilty as hell of premeditated murder. The only way she could be more guilty is if she had killed him in the court room in front of the jury.

Yes! The back wounds seal the deal for me. I picture being in a scenario where I am so scared for my life that I have no choice but to stab/shoot someone. The minute the "threat" has their back is to me, I am running like all hell to get away. Not stabbing at the BACK of the person. Her story is bullshit. Not that we didn't know that already!
This discussion on which came first, the gun or the knife, is lively, however I must remind myself that Jodi is a liar. Trying to figure out what she says is truth and what is falsehoods is an exercise in futility.
If I were a juror, I would completely discount her stories.
Examining every nuance of this case is like attacking a word problem by reading it straight through. If you parse it, state what are the facts, and then infer what you know from those facts, the answer is very simple. Fact: she went to Mesa with no proof of a vehicle trip there. Fact: she murdered Travis viciously. Fact: it was overkill. Fact: there is physical evidence that puts her at the scene. Fact: she admitted she killed him. The only conclusion to draw is murder.
All this psychobabble about her multitude of mental disorders matters naught. Fact: she went to great lengths to obfuscate the police and hide her involvement in the crime. Clearly she knows the difference between right and wrong.
Therefore, she is sane enough to be tried and convicted. That is her fate. Period.
Numri would just tell the judge he has several more house payments then he will rap it up.
Lets hope he doesn't buy a new car, that would take another week to pay that off.
Well put .. one can get lost in the weeds trying to be overly analytical with this case regarding sequence of assault wounds. You clearly noted the basic elements: the planning , the savagery, the cover up, her awareness of guilt.

I agree... that is exactly what the jury will do. She lied in court, to their faces... they will not feel the need to weed thru the rest of her fairy tale for possible incidental nuggets of truth. They will use the testimony of everyone except Jodi to reach their decision... Based on that it is not difficult to predict what the verdict will be.
Especially when she says she was holding this tiny gun with both hands. This would make it even more impossible.
The buyers knew about the murder before they decided to close on the sale. The new owners have been in contact with the Alexander family and they have good vibes about Travis and the house.
About the gun, can anyone on here tell us how many steps it would take to shot a .25 auto? Everyone seems to believe Jodi's lie that the "gun just went off". I thought shooting it required more than just touching the trigger.

So the jury tomorrow will hear from another neuropsychologist and this one will more than likely testify that Travis was NOT incapicated after being shot in the face. Really? I suspect he will say that he probably could have washed the car or vacuumed the floors with no impairment whatsoever - with a bullet through his brain.

Might have been conscious can mean many things. I sincerely doubt, doubt based on Dr Horns testimony and his response to the jury questions that he meant that TA could be up and chasing her around screaming "Kill You Bitch".
Her story is full of more holes than Swiss Cheese. She says her first instinct was to go for a gun that she testified she thought was unloaded? Instead of making a left and beating feet out of the house? TA was naked, I doubt he would have pursued her out to the street. She then says that after she got from under him after shooting him in the head that "she thought she heard him behind her". Then her story trails off, lost in The FOG.
Let's suppose for insane second her story was true, after she shoots him in the head (head wounds bleed a lot ) then why doesn't she take the second opportunity to leave the house? He's now naked and shot in the head.
Her story falls apart when any modicum of common sense is applied to it.

Dr Jill Hayes is an expert on malingering. It's been reported she will be allowed to testify. The prosecution gets the wordd as they have the burden of proof.

The evidence is that TA tried to escape from her. Look at the number of wounds he has, defensive and other wise. Stabby ended up with a cut on her finger.
Even the fight for his life he didn't lay a hand on her that we have proof of. No way he ever raised a hand to her during their relationship. I wish he could have clocked her upside the head with his "two fists" in an attempt to escape her.

It was Det. Flores's testimony in the 2009 hearing, that Dr. Horne had told him that TA 'might have been conscious' after the GSW, that undermines the prosecution's position. 'Conscious' meaning possibly crawling or staggering around is a far cry from 'attacking' or posing a threat in any way. No BOOM.

Exactly! He ambulated so much after the first stab wound she stabbed another 27 times and then slit his throat and miraculously she only had a cut on her finger. Because she freaked out by any noises by his body she then risked the noise of a gun shot to shoot him in the head.

She embellished her story beyond belief. She can't help herself. Most liars can't. They add more detail than necessary in an effort to make it more believable.
The fact that she told the jury that she thought the gun was unloaded makes it less believable as well. Like JM said "What were you going to do, throw it at him?"
If its a pistol - you have to load a round in the chamber, release the safety and pull the trigger. Three steps. Otherwise Travis would have had to have a loaded pistol in his closet with the safety off. That's totally unlikely. Just as unlikely as him owning the gun in the first place.
Hi Metis, on mobile and can't quote. Normally a magazine is filled with the cartriges and placed in the firearm. Now another cartridge can now be directly loaded into the chamber. This can also be done with an empty magazine. For home defense people will usually load one round directly in the chamber and have a fully loaded magazine as well. This allows the user to have one extra shot. When a round is manually loaded in the chamber the firearm's safety is engaged, in order to make an accidental discharge less likely. So in the case of a cartridge being manually loaded in the chamber firing the gun would be two steps, removing the safety and pulling the trigger. Otherwise, the user would need to pull the slide of the firearm back to load a round in the chamber, remove the safety if engaged then pull the trigger. So at least two and potentially three steps. Sorry I'm on my cell and may have missed something.
You need to take the safety off and to load it you have to pull back the slide. If it's locked and loaded and the safety is off, then it might just go off. The slide really kicks the hand when you pull the trigger. I bet she was a bit shocked by that. That kinda hurts. (unless she'd been practicing with it)

Metis - You have to pull the trigger. Nobody believes the gun just went off. At least 1 juror who may or may not be dismissed, who may or may not be an Alternate asked some questions about the gun and seems to have knowledge about guns. Of course there are all kinds of possibilities with an old .25 cal auto, but in general, you have to actually pull the trigger. When you pull the trigger and fire a shot, you know it.
BTW, what can you tell us about how BPD's deal with embarrassment? Do they feel embarrassment? When I see Stabby sitting there while the trial goes on around her, I often wonder about that.
Even if and this is a big IF Travis did say "kill you bitch" it was most likely a spontaneous utterance due to being shot in the head. Just throwin that out there.
