I caught trial fever later than most, just now watching the opening statements replay on HLN.. actually a good thing to "reset" the perspective of what has been testified to since...
I'm really wondering how far each side will deviate in closing from what was put forward in the opening statements.. The defense especially has some challenges since the "Jodi was his dirty little secret" myth has been exploded... IMO continuing to cast Travis Alexander as the bad guy in this relationship would be a serious mistake for the defense.. they'd be better off starting the process of eliciting some mercy for JA. and carry that over to mitigation.
If you can't tell, I think JA's goose is cooked.
I was just thinking the other day, in one of her interviews, she said Travis would never let someone take a picture of him in the shower, that he was funny about that. I think this was why she put him in there, for all to see. Jodi's, what she considered last laugh at Travis. Well, he is going to get the last laugh!
Do you really think that "So-and-so has a big nose" type comments add anything to the conversation?
Additionally, anyone whose nose is bigger than so-and-so's who is reading the thread is going to feel bad about the size of their nose. You see what I mean?
Please post these in the "Jury Watch/Verdict Predictions for the State v. Jodi Arias" thread in the Jodi Arias & Travis Alexander subforum. Thank you!!!![]()

Not real sure, but I think if found guilty of 1st, 2nd or manslaughter, she will go directly to prison. That's what I heard. If it was just a misdeamer (excuse me if spelled wrong) then she would stay in the jail.
Like any other person convicted of a felony, Jodi Arias stays in jail until she is sentenced. Then she goes to prison.

I wonder who will give closing arguments for the defense, PLEASE let it be Jenn!! It is an awful choice but I would rather it be her!
I'm not leaving the thread, although I have to admit that if I look at what I posted again, it sure looks like that's what I'm saying. Nope, I'll be back on probably Sunday and yapping it up with all of you. Cabo awaits and I have to get to sleep really really early tonight. Have a great week fellow MDSers! I'll have a heck of a lot to catch up on when I get back. Justice for Travis! Peace out!
As I review some of the trial today as well as tapes and witness statements, I am surpised at how this whole relationship between Travis and JA is the perfect shit storm.
Every friend, co-worker, and family member of Travis talks about how they told him to get away from her, that she wasn't marriage material, that she is a a nut job. So, with all this pressure from virtually everyone in his life, he still let her in the house on June 4? What is even more puzzling, is that this is after she fucked up his car (that she was going to pay for), slashed his tires, broke into his bank accounts, stole his passwords, broke into his house.... OMFG, the list just goes on and on.
There is nothing, I mean nothing this man could have done to warrant what happened to him. Travis was attacked and died in a horrible way: bloody, alone, and in pain. Jodi planned and executed this murder and I believe she will pay the ultimate price. There is no defense that she could present that would justify what she did, but I can't help feeling something is amiss here.
When I first started to learn about his case, I just couldn't understand why this guy would let her in the house after all this shit. I know many people say that she was throwing her snatch at him and he just wanted a piece, but this is after the bitch fucked up his accounts and messed up his game with other women. Add his own experience with the pressure he was getting from his peers, and I just cannot believe that Stabby would be worth it, no matter how hot she was in the sack.
Travis seems like he was a good guy who was giving, loving, and successful. He also seems a little immature and very inexperienced in the ways of women. Please don't get me wrong, I am not saying he deserved what happened, but I think it is important to acknowledge that Travis was human who had challenges along with all the great qualities.
I have spoken to a lot of my guy friends about this case and they are freaked the fuck out by Stabby. I mean they are genuinely scared of bitches like her and a lot of them have had experience with women who have similar qualites. Jodi has that Madonna/Whore thing going on, she is extremely manipulative, and she used to clean up okay. She seems to have that really scary quality of morphing into whatever a guy wants and it very well might be that Travis was just overwhelmed. But if all of Travis' friends are being honest about how he really felt about her, then I just don't get why he would let her in the house. It is hard for me to fathom that a 30-year old man would wanna hit it that bad given what he knows.
Wait, are you saying you don't enjoy reading "I hate that lying skank!" "Me too!" "I hate her more! She's ugly too!" "OMG that murdering bitch!" over and over and over and over and over again?
Yeah, me neither. Besides being stupid and childish, it's boring as hell. I'm sure it makes some of you feel better to vent, but it gets really, REALLY boring after hearing it about A THOUSAND TIMES...
I really see now I should have taken the time to view the opening arguments on video (since I missed the first couple of weeks) ... it is a critical framework to compare the testimony to. JA was pretty much exposed by JM from the get go and he delivered the goods during trial on all the critical evidence of pre-meditation, and "extreme cruelty" doesn't even do justice to what JA did to Travis Alexander...
Chris Hughes will be on Dr. Drew tonight. Should be interesting!

Disable all automatic garage door openers within a 500 mile radius. The impact will be greater than a Yoko Ono 'hit' of the 70's. I think Jenn's been studying her technique.
Oh! And keep the dogs on a leash. But we've been doing that already. Be careful what you wish for.

Has anyone seen the new article that Blink on Crime has up regarding this case??? I read over it quickly and I think she is trying to say that the sex pics from the murder day were not taken that day and she is referring to it as the candy sex escapade even going so far as to say that in ja's nude vag pic that the tootsie pop can be seen.......I could have read it wrong but I think that is what she is conveying in the article. Sorry I dont know how to link and you all know I dont post much but thought it was interesting what she is saying. Website is www.blinkoncrime.com, if anyone else has read it can you please tell me if you think the same as what I do??
Before this trial I didn't care for Dr. Drew. Now I can actually tolerate his show. Mark Eiglargh is pretty funny. Abe Abdelhadi (sp?) has made a couple of appearances on his show and he seems to be a no nonsense type of guy which I admire. Unlike Coconut and others on this thread, I have a neutral opinion of Katie Wick.
Who is the gray haired man who sits in the row with Jodi's mother? The only ones I know who are there are Donovan, Sandy and her twin. There is another one with glasses who is often there that I assume is another aunt and then the grandmother who showed up. Does anyone know who the other regular family members are who have been coming daily?
I remember reading waaaaay back that one of them made the comment looking at the jury, "look at them, they are all rednecks, she does not stand a chance" or something like that.
I hadn't caught that one (the following week)He also wrote "We entered through the front door of the home after dawning protective footwear and gloves". I know, spelling Nazi, but that stuff sets my teeth on edge. It is kind of an important document...didn't they have spell check back then?
As far as the wound sequence goes, Det. Flores testified about that under oath at a hearing on 8/7/2009, after having a telephone conversation with the hunky Dr. Horne the previous day. The call was to discuss Dr. Horne's findings in preparation for the hearing. Det. Flores was asked at the hearing what Dr. Horne's opinions were about the wound sequence and whether Travis might have been conscious after the GSW. Det. Flores answered that after speaking with Dr. Horne, his (Dr. Horne's) opinion was that the GSW could have been first and that Travis could have been conscious after the GSW.
I think it was rather a douchebag move for Horne to get on the stand and say "I don't recall ever having a conversation with Det. Flores about the case" when asked about those statements, throwing poor Flores under the bus. Flores had no choice but to take all the blame for those statements on the stand, saying he "must have misunderstood" Dr. Horne. Very shabby move by Horne, IMO.

She is the world's worst murderer. She planned shit that was so obviosly able to be proven against her it's insane.I often wonder how much isn't known about her planning. The surface stuff is easily in your face proven but what of some of the other details that no one has put togeather yet. There are still many unanswered questions that are open ended that scream for a explanation.I often wonder why she chose "the fog" defence over telling how it really happened. She had the choice to tailor it to self defence and would have helped her cause alot more than not remembering any of it.My $69000 question would be to her is how can you plead self defence if you don't remember it being that?To address remorse in her ,In pleading self defence she must feel like she fought for her life and won the life struggle against someone who's love turned to hate in the instant the fight was on so why feel remorse?Granted it was someone she once loved but that shit turned into instant hate and rage.I've been in bar fights before and felt no remorse as the guy is knocked out on the floor is that how she feels? Hmmmm we will never know.
That just tells you how bad I hope it isnt Nurms, just the least of 2 evils. He is just too slow! I'm guessing it willbe just another nite at the improv with Jen. She has been practicing her best Martinez stand up! She will reenact Juan's dramatic moment when he put that horrific autopsy photo up, except this will be a pic of Jodi's wonky finger wrapped around a Toblerone! Jodi will be sitting there drawing with her hair curtain down, wiping fake tears between fake sobs!
I don't know Travis, so I obviously can't say that I know for certain what was in his mind. But I believe, based on everything I've heard about him, that he was simply way too forgiving. He probably thought she was a little weird, a little crazy, but also that she needed help, and despite how nuts she made him, he may not have wanted to appear to abandon her (shades of his childhood?).
What he got was a whole ball of crazy, mixed in with someone who blurred the boundaries too much. He had sex with her, but I don't think he was so crass as to say, "No way will I take you to Cancun". I don't believe that was even brought up. Jodi killed Travis because he made her sick, and because she was being held back by her 'love' for him. She said so in her journal, and even though I think she lied in some parts of it, those particular entries have a ring of truth to them that I find disturbing.
