What I find strange is how well she covered her ass on some things and then others she screwed up so horribly. Like leaving the camera behind. If I had been her, the remaining bullets in granpa's gun would have been fired into the camera and that Helio phone. I do wonder how she got rid of the gas cans, they are big and even throwing them away would have been weird. Maybe she burned/melted them. Earlier as I watched the opening arguments. I found it weird that when Jenn talked about the missionaries visiting Jodi once a week, she says"they started at the end of Sept and all the way thru Oct.
She says that as if that is a REALLY long amount of time. In reality that means in the course of about 5 weeks Jodi decides to become a Mormon! That is an incredibly SHORT amount of time to change religions! Kind of like they like to make it sound as if she and Travis were a couple for years when it was only a few months they didnt even last long enough for her to have a legitimate reason to move. Of course she had the friends with benefits status for awhile but that was really it!
Cant wait to see what kind of gifts Dr. Geffner sent her....
bbm -- I agree. I'll take it one step further and suggest that dragging the body back to the shower is PROOF that it was NOT self-defense. And that's what she's claiming, self-defense. Not "I got pissed and snapped", but pure self-defense. And people in fight or flight situations that truly overkill to stop from being "attacked" don't touch their attacker after they've finally stopped the threat. They are AFRAID of that person. The fact that she dragged his lifeless body, along with all the other facts we've learned to date, proves to me that it was not self-defense.
I know it's o/t but I just can't get my head around this. I really can't. I won't bring it up again, but it would eat at me if I didn't say something
I'm not going to argue it or mention it again, so no-one need worry about it clogging the thread, I just can't leave this unaddressed for future readers to see.
[QUOTE=;3402867]Saw that this morning, they ripped into you right away when you even tried to mention Trayvon having tats and looked like for all purposes a "thug"
Oh. WOW. If that's the type of "valid" point that was being made in the Trayvon thread before the inexplicable attacks occurred? Then I'm with anyone who said Western countries aren't supposed to apply the Death Penalty to teenagers (or anyone) because some sections of society find their fashion choices offensive, or upsetting or scary. Doesn't that sound like the Taliban? Aside from the obvious things that are just SO wrong with that mindset , it's the equivalent of coming to this thread & saying Travis asked for it because he continued to see Jodi - or any of the other reprehensible "blame the victim" excuses that have been bandied around by some (extremely unpopular) posters here.
& I'm sure you all recall the general consenus & group reaction each time anyone did dare to try that here?? I hope that anyone still feeling that tatts & piercings etc = threat = right to protect yourself proactively, one day have a child or grandchild you love dearly grow up to become an intelligent, caring but HEAVILY tattooed & pierced young adult. I hope they fare better in this world than Trayvon & that no harm EVER comes to them as a result of their appearance &/or beliefs (or any other reason of course). But I also hope that you'll still love your kid/grandkid & that with time, you'll begin to understand why discussions implying a person contributed to their own death by having tattoos, or piercings, or dressing in certain way or whatever, will always upset a lot of people. Hell, tattoos & piercings are pretty mainstream these days??
I apologize if this has been answered before this post, but I'm pretty sure that I missed it. Has Dr. Geffner done an evaluation of Jodi previous to this trial?
:o)
I find it strange too about how well she covered up some things and not others. The camera being left behind was truly a God-thing.
I am amazed, too, how she did not get blood all over that rental car. I know the mats were missing, but I can only imagine that stabbing, throat-slashing, dragging and shooting her victim did not have her covered in blood. Unless she showered quickly, dressed, and then went to drag his body back to the shower, but then why shoot him?
Idk it's odd...but then again, Lizzie Borden axed two people and there wasn't a spot of blood on her, either, so who knows.
I feel the exact same way! I have never been a proponent for the DP, and I rarely feel it's warranted. This case is one of the exceptions. And, yes, there will be a world of difference between General Population Inmate Jodi and Death Row Inmate Jodi. She will have far less exposure to the other inmates. I believe they are locked in their cell for 23 out of 24 hours, eat meals in their cells, exercise in seclusion, shower under guard, etc. Her days of socializing with the jail pals will be over. And, knowing Jodi....she will file appeal upon appeal. She'll be there for years. :)
Can the jury take an immediate vote once they get the case and if all agree, announce they have a verdict? or do they have to go through every piece of evidence and testimony to vote? (sorry if this was asked already)
Opening statements on HLN now.
I believe that if they take a poll and all agree, they could come back immediately and end this thing. That's a pretty rare, thing, though, and even if all jurors did agree, I doubt they'd want to come back in less than 4 hrs because they wouldn't want to seem like they didn't discuss anything or rushed through. I think they're all dying to talk about and will enjoy the cathartic release in finally getting to dish.
If they're unanimous from the get go, I think they'll deliberate for 4-6 hours. I think if they have some fence-sitters or lone wolves, they'll deliberate for 2 days before reaching a unified decision. I hope.
They can, but they they will have to go through the judge's instructions which can be lengthy.
More likely they elect a foreperson, review the court's instructions one by one to make sure each juror understands each, then decide how they want to tackle the task from there on.
The biggest inconsistency -- remember how meek and quiet and all victim-y she was on the stand for all that time until...
They played the sex tape/phone conversation and she was all bright and eager and willing and even her voice was so much louder and cheery???
That dichotomy was really breathtaking ... and infuriating. That contrast impeached her every statement. Without that recording.... I don't want to even think.
I hope the jury can recall with sufficiency those two Jodis.![]()
Ta111 Quote- I was wondering this too! This idiot has no limits! That guy should definitely be creeped out. I guess she was just moving on....
Well, she WAS single. :/
Does anyone have the link to the video where the judge tells the jury what will be happening this week? I can't find it for some reason.
