While we did not get into the courtroom today, it was still worthwhile! All but nine of us got in, two Canadians left, and seven of us stayed in the waiting area and tried to watch our devices (not too successfully so I will watch later) and chatted. we were next to a young couple fresh out of med school, from MI. they have two months until internships (one a surgeon, the girl a psychiatrist) in MA, so came here to see the trial. Cane Lady did not get in either, and Katy Wick was not there but I saw she was on Dr. Drew just now. We saw the grandma in a wheelchair, and the guy that sits next to Mrs. Arias is very tall.

Saw Juan and Estephan a few times in passing! Took a pic of my friend with Beth Caras outside, she is very approachable. My sister works in a Federal Building, we met her at City Center for cocktails then went to dinner at Nobuo, it has a James Beard award chef. Shocked to hear the end is near and so ready!

    Thanks so much for sharing!

There's no sidebars, so it goes fast.
What's prejudicial is the stuff that wasn't proven to be her. Like the tire slashing and other stalking she did. They know about her ninja story.
    Thanks!

That camera/flyscreen link was really interesting NCBlonde. I tried the link to the camera specifications but couldn't find any mention of either SD cards or MicroSD cards being compatible? Happy to go back & look again if you remember where because this has got me kind of intrigued now.

Somewhere, way, way,way back in the thread was a conversation between a bunch of members re why did 1 expert testify "it" was found in the camera, while another testified "it " was found seperately in the washing machine. Two completely different items could explain that. I think WT? asked what the hell the detective was doing with the stick in the camera, in the one evidence bag, when there were pix clearly showing a memory card/stick bagged seperately with it's own evidence number.

I'm not buying into her uploaded to Travis' computer etc speculation, but I think she's onto something. She doesn't actually say Travis' camera takes Micro SD's. She says NO SD AT ALL fits Travis' camera & according to the link, it's true - unless there's a page I'm missing. She says that when the detective was on the stand, he first MISTAKENLY called Travis' Sony Duo Pro a SIM card - when he confused the slightly larger SIM with the tiny MicroSD because they're both used in phones.

I'm not going to fill a page on this when I might've missed something in the camera specifications that DOES say it takes SD. If it did take SD's at all, it would take the Micro as well. You can get a conversion cover that looks like a normal sized SD. You click the Micro SD into the cover, & it then functions just like the larger SD cards. But from what I saw, it says it takes sony memory sticks NOT SD cards. They're totally different shapes & totally different products. If a camera takes Sony Duo or Duo Pro, it won't take SD or MicroSD. It'd be like trying to get a DVD into a VCR.

Damn. I was hoping that wouldn't happen. Naive of me to even hope I suppose, but shit, they can't even search for previously unseen pics that friends have posted, without having to see that now. It sucks. Maybe putting photobucket settings on private might stop it coming up in searches quite as often? I don't know if that'd even work, & even if it did, it'd probably be too late now : ( But maybe people who have a copy & care could at least try??

No! No! No! The 'angel' is above the ceiling--way, way up there in celestial paradise and would have had to be reaching down to pull Jodi up. 'Angels' do not push. They pull! With that divine assistance, Jodi would not have had to put her foot on the shelf at all and would disturb nary a shoelace. She would be floating. That's a far more likely scenario to put to the Jury. More logical than the one you offered!

It would be really interesting to know why the family member who found the 'phone decided to turn it over to the police rather than just getting rid of it. Seems like more than one person close to her was happy to see her far away from Yreka so that Order could be restored to their lives with Jodi permanently gone.

Arias sent out the message that she was 'not promiscuous.' At the same time, she declared that she was once pregnant. I immediately rushed outside to look for the star in the eastern skies. No luck!

Also, about her art-for-sale. Any money she's making now should be spent asap. If she does not spend this money now, it will be frozen as soon as the verdict is read. Any money left in her account and any money she makes in the future will go directly to the victim's family. The book that she's supposedly writing can be stopped from publication by the victims family. Any sales from that book (if published) would also go to the victim's family. It's safe to say that she could be selling paintings from prison for the rest of her life, however she'll never make a dime. Any money that comes in for her will be seized by the court. I am sure that there will be a civil case against her no matter what the outcome of this trial is. There HAS to be. This will ensure that all of her money will be gone as soon as it comes in; whether she's in prison or not. She'll be paying off that family for the rest of her life.
    And this makes me smile.

Thanx Jillee, I'm nearly smiling. She can't get around it by "gifting" her work to friends/family? If they're the legal owners & they sell off her high school folio (sorry, just being a smartarse, I mean the syrupy crap she's churning out as "authentic courtroom/jail creations"), is there anything stopping them holding the funds for her & then gifting her back whatever she says she needs from month to month? Or is it cool either way because even $$$ that's gifted to Jodi can be recovered?

Sorry guys, I know there's probably things she's done since the murder that should bother me more, but this apparently unshakeable belief that she's deserving of fame & fortune for her meagre talents really makes me grrrrr. Worse still is that she seems to believe it's deserved recognition rather notoriety. Double grrrrrr.

From the knife. The palm, blood and hair she left wouldn't have been left if she ONLY used the gun (say theory). I guess I wonder if it jammed after the first shot (saying the gun was her only plan?) Just a theory after all my studying (since Feb -now.)

I know there are different theories. Just wondering what most of you think was the timing and reason (not that JA's brain makes no sense anyway) there was ONLY 1 gunshot?

To you and other longtime members here have you agreed on the same theory? Agreeing with Martinez it was last? The med exam Dr. said he couldn't say for right?

It was supposed to have been a pretty old gun wasn't it. Would Jodi have had the knowledge to make sure it was in good working order? Or would she have thought that as long as she shoved bullets into it, that was all there was to it? Maybe she figured it was no different than fitting the right batteries into her camera & that as long as she had the right size it'd go bang, bang as easy as taking a photo? Do we know if she had any experience with guns? If she didn't, I think it's very likely you're right & she never meant to use the knife.

Yes. It can't be both. I've read too much & it's all spinning around in my head. That's what happens when I follow a trail of links down the rabbit-hole. I've got one of Jodi's migraines now. Will be back after I've chewed a few pencils & I feel better (now there's a thought - if she keeps nomming on those LEAD pencils, there may be no need for the DP)

I am a little OCD about that particular phone. here is the timeline on that HELIO (to put it in context, based on ALL the info I have ...)
    1) she records sex tape on it. beginning of May 2008
    2) claims ON STAND she lost that phone mid may, like the 15th I think she says.
    3) Gus buys her new phone.
    4) she cuts fingers at work somehow, and takes pictures of said cut on MAY 31 with said phone. Her defense introduced that evidence AFTER she says on stand she LOST that phone. clearly they pay attention to what stabby said. doh!
    5) she is arrested. relative finds that phone some TWO years later, conveniently that is just about the time the NEW story comes out of her mouth.
Things that make ya go hmmmmm?

    This sums up yesterday.

    -Home Stretch, Arizona
It was a short day today in the Arias trial, but there were numerous developments:
Uh oh. Jenny dressed herself and Stabby in black today, and that’s NEVER a good sign. That time-out yesterday must’ve sent her on a real downward spiral, because she looks like she was up all night listening to Bauhaus and writing dark haikus by candlelight. Nothing good can possibly come of this. Although I have to admit, they would both look 100% better if they wore thick black veils over their faces to really complete the look.*
Remember when that rental car agent in the wool sweater testified sweatily in the desert courtroom that Stabby was a blonde when she rented the car on June 2, 2004? Well, today we saw pictures she took of herself on June 3, as a freshly dyed brunette en route to commit a homicide. Yup. Genius.*
Nurmi can only handle one lengthy cross exam each day. Outside of that, he just lets the jurors ask the questions for him. *He’s too comfortable to get up and talk to all these people Juan keeps bringing in. He’s also got to keep a watchful eye on Jenny, since she’s going through this dark emo-phase.*
Esteban Flores returned to the stand to talk about the shelves in Travis’ closet that Stabby Einstein claims she scaled to grab the gun in self- defense. But apparently Stabby Einstein doesn’t understand physics. Because Flores said the pegs holding those shelves in place would’ve snapped under her weight, and then a complex physical law called “gravity” would happen. Physics IS everywhere!*
Then the tortoise on quaaludes dragged himself out of his barcalounger to cross examine Flores, because it wasn’t like anybody else was gonna do it. Side-eye at mopey Jenny. Trial watchers everywhere braced themselves for raunchy questions about Flores’ sex life, but surprisingly, Nurmi didn’t go there. He just huffalumped and grumped his way around the room, grunted a few questions, then went back to bed.*
So then the jury asked Flores all the questions Heavy D Nurmi missed, along with some of their own. And they were great:
Was Travis a registered gun owner? Ever?
Were any guns, bullets, holsters, cases, or cleaning kits found anywhere in the home?
    Were Travis’ roommates gun owners?*
Were any shoes on the closet shelves disturbed?
Were any shelves broken or disturbed?
Were there any empty boxes found that could’ve been used to store a gun?*
The answer to all of the above questions: N.O.*
The judge said today that if all goes according to schedule, the jury will start deliberating the case May 3.*
    Here’s to hoping.*

If the jurors unanimously decide Arias is guilty of first-degree murder, the case would then move to the aggravation phase.

That is the prosecution's chance to present additional evidence that the death was caused in a cruel manner. Arizona law defines it as when the victim suffers physical pain or mental anguish and the defendant knew or should have known that the victim would suffer.

The jury would then deliberate for a second time to determine if the aggravating factor of cruelty is proven beyond a reasonable doubt.

The phases after conviction are complicated and must be time consuming, I wonder how long those subsequent phases will take... (could add another month +)

I also noticed this: M. "Alternate jurors who are impaneled for the trial in a case in which the offense is punishable by death shall not be excused from the case until the completion of the sentencing proceeding."

So, Jodi didn't ruin everything, she and her DT have provided months of entertainment that other trials have not.

people started noticing JA's lies related to the Helio phone back in March:

    Mar 7, 2013: http://www.facebook.com/Justice4Trav...40312299378251

"She recorded the phone sex conversation on May 10th (2008)... She said on cross examination that the Helio phone was lost/stolen a week later... And not found for a couple years or something like that... But then on redirect, she says that the cut to her finger was on June 1st and the picture of it was taken on the Helio phone"

and as of yesterday we know she was using the Helio phone on Jun 3rd 2008 in Salinas, Cal. My guess is she stashed it when she got back to Yreka and after being arrested couldn't do anything to prevent it from being found.

    Sorry- on my phone.
    Blighted Star-
There's The Son of Sam Law and Asset Confiscation or Forfeiture by the State laws. These rules apply to family and friends of the killer also. Let's say she gets out in 25 years or less. Somehow her family and friends have made money off of her secretly and they're saving it for her.*
(Have you seen that group?) Highly unlikely, but ok.*
There will be a lawsuit after the trial. For millions, I'm sure. They have to sue her, and they will.
She won't be able to keep a bank account. Own property, etc.*
unless she hires some kind of offshore banking lawyer who can get around money transfers. (Those types of lawyers cost $$$$$$)
then she's stuck. If she gets married, her husband's money becomes fair game also.
