    Excellent point.

    I watched this recently:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_JP_FHTs5EQ

Martinez skillfully traps her over the knife and the rope lies. In a trial of ludicrous Ariasisms, the rope excuse is one of the most dumb. It shows that her intellect is weak although her verbal skills are stronger. The way she responds to Juan Martinez is infuriating and damning. Her silly glances at the jury, unnaturally accented 't's and hissy 's's are childish and annoying. She is smug, contemptuous and over-confident. Nothing she says sounds convincing or sincere. You can see the cogs turning in her tiny brain as she tries to weigh the best lie options. Her blank mask face has a hint of "How the hell do I get out of these lies?". She looks like it is killing her not to punch Juan Martinez. She is one scary creature.

The big deal was that TA wasn't a virgin, and he had sex with a girl that he had been dating for years. Seriously. Who. the. fuck. cares. Also making a big deal that his friends still thought he was a virgin. He liked to keep his private life private. Again. Who. the. fuck. cares.
I don't know what is worse all of them skipping over the most critical and important things that happened and glorifying the bullshit or NG playing portions of the long adjourned trial saying that it is "going on in the courtroom now" like we are all sitting there like this saying "really NG, is it going on right now, because of the time difference?" End Rant.
Yeah, that was ridiculous. ZOMG Travis wasn't a virgin, so obviously he's a sexual deviant, according to the defense?

I think Nurmi's whole line of questioning with Deanna -- regarding their sexual relationship -- was ridiculous, unnecessary, and proved nothing in the defense's favor. To me, it showed the broke the church's chastity rules, felt bad, sought out counsel from religious leaders, and then repented and refrained from breaking the rules again. That right there shows Travis was no just some womanizer or sex fiend. He felt bad about it, and he was trying not to do it again. But, he's human, and when he had a partner who felt no issues at all about pre-marital sex, he indulged in it again. I do think he still had mixed feelings about it, and I think he felt it was wrong, and if anything, THAT is why Jodi became a secret after they broke up. Because he knew it was wrong, but he did it anyways. He was struggling, and with Deanna it was easy, because she was being strong; but with Jodi, she was throwing the poon in his face every chance she got, because that's the only power she knew she had over him.

I think it also showed that when Travis was in a relationship, he was acting the same as the person he was with. Deanna was being strong and abstaining, so Travis was too. Jodi was all about indulging and so Travis did too.

Mind you, I was raised is a somewhat religious family, but not overly so. But, I personally have never felt that premarital sex was a huge issue. Not like being a ho or anything, lol, but that it just wasn't a huge life-altering sin, imo. There's certainly something to be said for ensuring you are compatible with a person, in every way, before making what should be a very serious and long-term commitment.

I don't see Flight or Fright there at all but I'm not an expert and neither are the jurors (that we know of). I'm sure that JM is going to point all of this out in his closing argument and then again in his rebuttal to defense's closing argument.
Agree. She did a lot of things that would negate the claim that she wasn't consciously doing things, and was just like on "auto-pilot" because these were common tasks that she did regularly and so that she could do them while in her alleged fog.

Hey NC, I?ve been reading over at blinkoncrime, though I haven?t posted over there. First I?ll say that there?s a lot of great conversation there, very intelligent and respectful, and Blink often participates and I?ve found her to be knowledgeable and nice.

That said ? what the FUCK with this waaaaay far-fetched theory??? My eyes about popped out of my head when I read it. I agree, it just makes no sense whatsoever. I like reading about different theories, even when I disagree, but this one is so whacked that I?m speechless about it.

    (snipped for space)

Berm, I LOVE your blog! I commented over there last week to thank you, wanted to give you a shout out here too.

Good point about her knowledge of the youtube videos pointing to her arriving when she said she did. I think she does mix in bits of truth with her mountains of lies (in an attempt to make her lies more believable). I?m fascinated by trying to puzzle out what?s what.

My own theory (which I?m constantly developing and adjusting) is that JA?s plan was to shoot Travis and make it look like a robbery. I think she sweet-talked him into the shower to get him in a vulnerable position, and planned to shoot him, steal a few things, and take off.

Then her plan went awry ? perhaps Travis saw the gun and tried to get it from her ? and a struggle ensued, hence the stabbing and leaving what Flores called the best evidence he?d ever had in a homicide case. I think the ninja story could have come from a mush-up in her twisted little mind of her original plan with Flores saying there had to be more than one person involved.

I think the most likely explanation for the screen is that she popped it out to make it look like a break-in (as berm suggests), and that she did it on her way out the back door when fleeing the scene. I think her staged robbery at her grandparents? house was probably a ?practice run' to see how to get away with a robbery, as well as to get the gun.

Of course we?ll probably never know for sure - that?s what keeps me obsessing over this case!
    Welcome Raina!

I think that she most likely decided to bring the gun because it would be a quick and effective (or so she thought) way to kill him. Little fuss, little mess, etc. At this point, I do think the shot came last, in my personal opinion. But, I had thought early on that she very well could have shot him, the shot didn't kill him, so she tried again and the gun jammed. That particular caliber -- as I've read -- is pretty common to have a jamming issue. So that could be.

I've gone around a few times between shot first and shot last myself, but have settled on last, because of ME's saying there was a lack of blood from that wound, meaning the blood would've been draining away through the various other wounds. We do know that Jodi washed blood away from various other wounds on Travis when she tried to wash the evidence off his body, so I suppose this could include the gunshot wound. And he was so far into decay by the time that they found him, that could also be a reason.

I still lean towards the gun shot coming last, but I do think we will never really know for sure though.

Yep. I believe he will end his case with pics of Travis alive, enjoying life/family/friends, etc., then close with some of the autopsy/death photos, to emphasize exactly how heinous Jodi was and the vibrant beloved person she took away with her actions.

[QUOTE=Sneakers the Wonder Dog;3399844]She left her palm print in blood on the wall in the hallway and her DNA. The pics were the icing on the cake.

From the knife. The palm, blood and hair she left wouldn't have been left if she ONLY used the gun (say theory). I guess I wonder if it jammed after the first shot (saying the gun was her only plan?) Just a theory after all my studying (since Feb -now.)

I know there are different theories. Just wondering what most of you think was the timing and reason (not that JA's brain makes no sense anyway) there was ONLY 1 gunshot?

To you and other longtime members here have you agreed on the same theory? Agreeing with Martinez it was last? The med exam Dr. said he couldn't say for right?

I can not imagine a jury putting someone, who slashed a man's throat, back on the streets so I doubt very much she'll be found not guilty, but I'm also worried about some of the juror questions who sound like they could go for a much lesser charge. I keep thinking back to Susan Wright, who stabbed and tortured her husband and got a paltry 20 years.

Hmmm Mr. DeCoste is Director of Security for the court. Wonder what he's doing in that meeting? Maybe the defense team is claiming death threats again or something? Although I do remember Sheriff Joe having an issue with Jodi wandering around and being somewhat unsecured there, a few weeks/months back. I believe he cleared some kind of meeting room for them to keep her in when her attorneys were not able to babysit her.

Of course, i'm secretly hoping that Jodi has changed her plea and will beg for mercy, and that the head of security is there to prevent mayhem/celebration from breaking out.

Hey, a girl can hope, right?!

The ME testified that the shot would have been almost immediately incapcitating. So how would Travis have defensive wounds on his arms if he was unconscious at the very least? The shot came last. There was only one shot because she only shot at him once... Either because she needed her two perpetrator story to add up, or, in my opinion, because Travis was either gurgling or twitching or both and it was a 'put him down now' shot.

The medical examiner opined that the gunshot came last, or pretty darn close to it. He could not swear under oath to the EXACT order of the wounds, because it would only be speculation. But, based on the location of the gunshot wound (and that it would have passed through the frontal lobe of the brain), and the fact that there was very little bleeding associated with it, he was able to testify to the following....The lack of hemorrhage suggests either there was little blood left in this body at that point, or that he was already dead and the heart was no longer pumping blood. Also, he testified that the gunshot would have immediately incapacitated him, and he would have lost consciousness within seconds. The only other wound that he said would have immediately rendered him unconscious and death would swiftly occur was the slashing of the throat.

Yes, but Susan Wright was married to the guy and (she said) she didn't have anywhere else to go. There were children involved, etc. The jury gave some weight to that. Jodi was just some psychotic ex gf and drove 1000 miles to kill him. (not sticking up for Susan Wright, just marking the difference. There is a big difference.)

It's quite possible her grandfather only kept one cartridge loaded in the chamber with an empty magazine. Or she may have taken the gun to a secluded area and test fired a few shots in order to get her aim down and only left herself that one shot. I'd venture a guess that she would not want to purchase ammunition for fear of it being tied back to her after the murder. All speculation on my part obviously but still plausible.

The pic of his back, with the 9 stabs and slashes to the back of his head is the one that gets to me the most (beside the slit throat, of course). He was either trying to get away from her or already down, and I think he felt every one of those stabs and slashes. I've thought from the start those photos alone tell the whole story, no words needed...

I'm sure y'all have covered this before but which crime-scene/autopsy photos will the Jury see? Only the ones already shown in court or will they have access to the ultra-graphic neck wounds etc. that we have seen? Too prejudicial, I'm guessing...

Those are minutes from 4/19, last Friday. Did you notice killer waived her right to be there.
My guess as it states it was a 'Status' meeting, it was just to make plans from especially for verdict day planning. We can 'think' it might go one way or the other but the courts don't run on guessing like we do. : )

One of his friends that was interviewed clearly said, "I didn't think Jodi was a threat, so I didn't encourage him to seek help". Do you get this? Do you understand that Travis was looking to others for answers? Or is that just not goddamned good enough for you?

Read the article again yourself. The author says that he could have been Travis. He acknowledges that he was LUCKY. He acknowledges that the cops could do nothing for him. He acknowledges that a restraining order was useless. THE ONLY WAY HE GOT AWAY WAS TO PACK UP AND LEAVE.

Travis may have been getting to that point. What we know is that he told others about her behavior. What we know is that he tried to cut her out of his life. I suspect that he pressured Mimi to go on the trip to Cancun with him simply so that he could keep Jodi away from him.

You have implied over and over that Travis didn't do the right things, and that you did, so therefore you're still alive. I call bullshit. I've seen stalkers in action, and I know what does and does not happen is basically based on how big a fucking nutjob your stalker is.

I wouldn't consider Travis and Jodi 'dating' by any stretch of the imagination. Why do you insist that they were dating? Because they had phone sex? The evidence that Jodi provided could easily be twisted.

Example Conversation from last night between me and my bff:

Me: What do you want to do?
BFF: You know what I want to do.
Me: Yeah? Yeah, you want to tie me up, don't you?
BFF: Oh yeah. Tie you up and whack your ass until it's hot.
    Me: Ohhhhh yessssss.
BFF: Are you a dirty girl?
Me: You know it. I need to be punished.
BFF: Let me get the handcuffs and paddle.

Taken out of context, it sounds like we were about to engage in filthy sex. What actually happened was that we giggled like we were in fifth grade, then decided to get a pizza for dinner.

To say that you know shit about Jodi and Travis's relationship based on the evidence JODI presented doesn't say much. She's a liar and a manipulator, and I think you've been had.

Don't they? Note the words sociopath and manipulative. If the abuser knows the vulnerabilities of their victim, it wouldn't be that hard to compel or convince that victim to do what they want.

And we don't know all that transpired on June 4th. Remember, this was only ten days (or so, I keep forgetting the exact date) from when he went on his tirade. Travis seems like a pretty easy-going guy. After he blew up, maybe, like many victims, he felt badly about going off on her like that. Maybe he'd blown off his steam, and was going to make up with Jodi.

Maybe Jodi came to his house and told him that she had his money, or knew someone he could borrow money from. Or maybe Jodi said that they needed to talk, and then she tells him her demands (be with me or else I'll tell everyone you raped me and are abusive. I have the tape to prove it).

    Maybe, maybe, maybe.

It really isn't fair of you to speak as if you know 100% what Travis did that day. You DON'T know. You just don't. Can you say for 100% certain that you know exactly how things went down on June 4th? Do you know the specifics of how Jodi gained entry to his house? Do you know with absolutely no doubt whatsoever that Travis was not manipulated or threatened by her before he was killed?

I think the answer to that is NO. You don't. You can't know, and you are making most of your assumptions about the sexual and romantic relationship between Jodi and Travis based solely on Jodi's words and evidence. That really isn't much to go on now, is it?
    Test, test...

Greetings All...newbie here, first post. Apologize for the abrupt intro but just wanted to say that, wowzers, I wish I had the time and luxury of replying to some of this dialogue with a particular individual who is really grating me...thank you Agatha and others who have been t r y i n g to graciously explain and enlighten by speaking words I usually don't even bother to say anymore...and I preface that by saying that I AM qualifed to speak in that I AM more than a little familiar with domestic violence and other violent crime to include stalking, both at a personal and professional level. I wonder if the harshly judgemental ones even realize that its this very attitude that hurts and isolates victims., esp. if we are strong, intelligent ppl (which TA was and I am)..that it knocks us down, wears us out and "steals our voice" yet again, along with all the other bs in this crapshoot of life dealing with psychotics/nutjobs. Only a fool would be so pompous as to say that they are somehow in control of the thoughts and actions of their stalker(s)/nutjob(s). Anyhoo...Maybe one day I'll make it through reading this thread in its entirety (lol doubtful, but I know to keep mum til then, there are a lot of protocols and SOPs to get straight ) But thanks to all others as well, this place can be therapuetic, as some do seem as a kind of kindred spirit, if you will. Which, Lord knows, I need. Semper Fidelis...

Either because she needed her two perpetrator story to add up, or, in my opinion, because Travis was either gurgling or twitching or both and it was a 'put him down now' shot.
No offense to you intended but we've debated this question for thousands of pages. We won't ever know unless a chronic pathological liar tells us the "truth".

We cannot conclude that the shot was last only because it would have been incapicating because if I remember correctly, the ME testified that he could have regained consciousness after being shot.
