And the entire weight of her body would have been on that shelf, the EDGE of the shelf, albeit for a second or two, before she had a chance to grab the top shelf for stability, as she claimed she did. Regardless if the shelf tipped forward or not, I have a feeling that that the shelving system as a whole is so light, had she put her full weight on that shelf and grabbed the top on with her hand, the enire unit would have been pulled down over her pretty little head.

I hate to say it, but it looks like that shelf was pulled out a bit before this picture was snapped. Maybe that's why it wasn't on-screen for too long. (and happy page 666 post!)

No it isn't, as the shelf tips forward that's how it would move, I have shelves similar to this and have tipped them many times.

A picture of the top shelf at the time of the investigation might have been helpful. If there had been an object taken from that shelf it would have left a visible impression in the dust, assuming dust had accumulated on the top shelf.

does the dust or lack of dust mean anything a'tall really? the "chase" scene in the undisturbed closet proves she didn't burst into the closet and meticulously scamper up the closet and grab a gun? that closet was pristine. not even a shoelace outta place. I can't imagine dust ring or no dust ring would cinch that there was a gun there. please

Well, my 30 pound 3 year old knocks shelves like that over all the time at my house, because he puts weight on the front... even when they are loaded in the back with items. All TA had on thsoe shelves was clothes - surely that isn't enough to balance out 130 pounds of woman tipping it from the front? I'm not understanding the confusion here. That picture clearly shows that weight on the front of the shelves would tip them, and items would fall to the floor. That's the whole point of this, nothing was disturbed in the closet - at all.

I've tipped mine just by cleaning the dust off.

I heard starting court at 9am on the 1st - going until they are done (even later than 5pm if needed). Then closing arguments may 2nd and 3rd - then deliberation from there.

Judge Stephens is going over the trial schedule. Tomorrow 9:30 for a short while. No trial until next Wednesday May 1st.

Court today, court tomorrow.. Judge said they would only be there briefly. Then, no court until next Wednesday because of witness scheduling issues. She say they will remain in court on wed until they wrap up. Closing arguments thurs and fri.

Thanks for the screenshots everyone! I have to think, looking at that, that since the shelve above it is the same style, the shelf she claims to have stepped on would've flipped up and possible knocked the second shelf off too, or at least titled it enough to spill or mess-up the clothing.

Exactly. She specifically said that she stepped on the very edge of the 2nd or 3rd shelf. Any pressure to the front edge of any of those shelves would have distributed the weight, so that the back of the resting shelf would flip up in the back...flipping off anything on that shelf, and likely the shelf above it. Also, Jodi would have been knocked on her ass with all that shit on top of her.
Please excuse my run on sentences and punctuation errors. I get a little ahead of myself sometimes.

Sorry meant to say - he had to prove that what the defense alleged was not true. It was huge to show the shelving because that makes her self defense story impossible.

My grandson tried it, and was able to to it with toes only and not tipping. Soon as he used the middle of his foot without toes, you know, like the arch part, it tipped.
It's really unimportant. If I was a juror I wouldn't even be considering a gun was ever there by now. JM proved she is a LIAR and lied under oath.

Just want to take a moment to acknowledge those here that knew TA and JA.

Today was a great day for the State and therefore TA as well. TA's family and friends, loved by him and loved in return, have waited nearly 5 years for justice to be served.

I hope the jury does the right thing and convicts her on premeditated murder. If they do that then justice will be served whether she serves LWOP (as some wag said "Life without pencils) or receives the DP.

It would prove if anything at all had been resting on the the top of that shelf. If there was an undisturbed coat of dust then there was no gun resting up there. I think that could be beneficial further proving she lied about retrieving a gun on that shelf. Do you not agree?

Poppycock didn't make it in, at least that I could see. They just panned the gallery and she wasn't in there. That's the drawback of going down there, you never know how many people will be in line. Damn! How many questions could the jury actually have??

Nurmi's shelf questions illustrate how tediously obvious the Defense strategy is. Arias gave them nothing but smokescreens and lies to work with. Nurmi gave a little class on how to hurl utterly pointless questions at a witness in the hope of distracting the jury from the evidence. They have nothing left but the hunt for dumb. I hope this jury does not deliver.

Evidence of premeditation is so strong in this case. Juan Martinez has laid a path for the jury and has reinforced each step with concrete evidence. Even now, Arias is smiling to herself, looking at her 'friends'. Her shameless, remorseless, arrogant demeanour never fails to shock me. Will she even care if the verdict is the harshest possible? She got what she wanted and will play legal assistant for years of appeal now. Deluded, psychopath.
