Today was devastating for the defense and I don't understand what the DT is smiling about. Observing Palin today, she actually looked more insane than Stabby...she's losing it What gets me is that JA now wants her worthless life to be spared when she actually has not respect for human life. There's no redeeming quality in her whatsoever. There's also no genuine emotion in her, other than feeling rageful and vindictive. It's as if she's emotionally "color blind"; it's just not there. So, Jodi really does ruin everything...I decided to clean my neglected abode today and rushed to get the vacuuming done during lunch recess...ended up dropping the canister on bare toes and am hobbling around on two broken toes. Ugh, I need a 12-step program to admit I'm powerless on trial days.

I will be honest i secretly want a mistrial, Would be interesting to see if Jodi still sticks to the same story, or she just gives up and tells the truth given the evidence against her. Ahhhh... With her wanting manslaughter for an appeal seems like she feels they are going to convict her.

She will never tell the truth. All a mistrial would do is incur unbelievable costs for the taxpayers of AZ (no way the state wouldn't retry this again) and misery for the family who surely wants to put this to rest, so they can move forward with their lives and their grieving.

Awesome day. Travis didnt hide Jodi until everyone hated her, No gas can return, almost 23 gallons of gas, no porn anywhere in Travis's computer cd's or jump drives and Deanna. Like each of you have said Deanna was a lady and did the right thing. It could not have been easy...But she did give Nurmi the death ray stare (hopefully somehit Jodi) and she never stuttered. She was clearly embarrassed, her throat was pink. I dont know that I could have testified to my sex life in front of millions of people.

What do you think about this "unpardonable offense" Travis mentioned in his email? Looking at how things turned out, I wonder if it is guilt over having a physical relationship that was then made somewhat public in the church, and not getting married. It must have affected future Mormon marriage prospects for both of them, maybe the woman more than the man.

Yes, I was wondering why a trajectory expert was never called to dispute the angle from which she said she shot him and how the bullet actually went into his head.

Don't need an expert, just the facts and common sense. Actual bullet trajectory was just above left eyebrow-->right cheek. Picture it. Now look at the picture of Jodi doing the linebacker pose in court, with Martinez standing in front of her. Ask yourself where that bullet would have gone. Her story is impossible.

I hope he's being called to remind the jury of his testimony that Travis would have been "immediately incapacitated" by the gunshot to the head, and not chasing Jodi around threatening her. Also the BULLET TRAJECTORY that was downward, fired from above, NOT fired at Travis charging Jodi 'like a linebacker'.

Two very important things that completely contradict her self-defense story.

True, but they already went through a big to-do with the detective saying the gunshot was first (he thought) and the ME and the ME stating the gunshot was last. I don't know that he would bother to bring that up again if the prosecution argument is that the shot was last.

Well, there was something to the effect that Travis claimed he practically raped her one time. So, they are taking that and running with it as abuse.

I was hoping so too. I thought MAYBE after she's exhausted all her appeals she might come clean to a TV show, but that won't be for a very long time, if ever. I am pretty sure I recall Joey Jackson said that most defendants file an appeal after just about every trial. I guarantee she will.

Maybe she will write a book a la OJ. Of course it would probably be a proxy, say through Donovan, that "if Jodi did it, here's how it happened." She could probably make money that way, if it wasn't Jodi's name on the book.

We haven't heard anything official, but we know that the defense is trying to keep out 3 of the prosecution witnesses. I would think the hearing was to do with that. I don't know how many actual witnesses Martinez has left, but I would guess these three are pretty important, and so they want to deal with that, to see where the prosecution goes from here?

It was a last minute change. Nobody said why for sure, but the two most likely reasons are either that they have motions to hear in the morning (since Nurms filed a bunch), OR, that they finished with witnesses so fast today that the next witness was not available until tomorrow afternoon.

So...I have sleep issues. Tonight, I was just really curious about the whole Nurmi married/ring on finger (gag) thing. So, I snooped and poked and nosed around....if this was already posted, I missed it, so apologies. Nurmi's first name is Laurence and his wife's name is Christilyn. I'm not posting this so people start looking to bother her, however, I will say...this woman must be a saint if he's anything like his courtroom persona. =)
