ETA: Just saw the other posts regarding this. Heather Conner was the crime scene technician, so I believe she would have been the one to have found it/retrieved it. Not Det. Flores or the camera guy. I have no idea how they handled evidence and sent it to DF or the camera guy.
My computer won't forward me to the Connor site. Anyone else have that problem?

It's almost funny, because in one of my earlier posts I said that anyone who had an opposing view on anything in this thread is either called a troll, or told to go back to JAII. You actually mentioned both! This site is a discussion forum, opposing views are what keep it interesting - check some threads outside of the Jodi/Travis section. If a 100% Travis support discussion is what you're after, there's plenty of other sites to choose from. MDS is not the place to be if you don't like both sides being argued, because you're just as likely to have a perpetrators friends/family jump into a thread, as you are to find a member playing devil's advocate.
Maybe we should add a sub-thread called "Travis Alexander is the Bomb" then everyone that wants to discuss how great he was can go there and talk about it? I like the competing views, even coconuts! In my opinion, I wouldn't have it any other way.

Thanks WT, I checked some of it out last night and I had seen quite a bit of it before. I was on my iPad so I couldn't bring up the 48 hours stuff. That reminds me...all this talk about misspelling and grammar got me thinking. I am on my iPad frequently if I am at home responding to the thread so if anyone sees anything like that, please let me know. I try to edit when I catch it but stupid Apple auto-correct gets me into trouble sometimes

Has it ever been established if there were other pictures on the memory card besides those pictures we see? I'm not talking sex pictures, I mean pictures in general that Travis might have taken.
Wasn't the camera in question, Travis's? The whole point being made about the pictures was that her deleting them would take some time if she was not familiar with the camera. At least I thought I remembered that. I could be way wrong. Anyone? I doubt she was a professional photographer, just liked to take pictures at weddings and famous landmarks in the top 100 or whatever that was. I have a friend that is like that and likes to think she is a pro. The camera does not make the photographer, it's what you do with it. I took a photography class when I was in high school and with all the settings, it really takes some work to get professional grade photos. A non-SLR can take photos in some cases as good. I got a picture published in a calendar of my boxer and it was taken with an iPhone.

Kind of a strange thing to file way before her trial even began, but Nurmi knows she'll be convicted because she admitted killing Travis. Nurmi does not want JM to even bring out Jodi's behavior to influence the sentencing, as he feels she'll get a higher sentence if he did. So, even before the trial, Nurmi knew she'd exhibit odd behaviors once in court.
That's my guess.

As she fled down the hall with him in pursuit she could have weilded around full force neck high in a swinging motion and create the neck wound(the only thing ninja )dropping him .If she pulled his head up by his hair and slashed him from behind there would be clumps of hair missing as she held him,I've heard nothing of that in DNA findings or from the ME that he noticed that on Travis's head. The photo of her dragging the body shows Travis fataly wounded and people assume that this is the definitive moment of the timeline in which the attack happened. This may not be true he could have had more fight in him .The gunshot wound was to silence him.She did not want to hear him gasp or girgle. She wanted it to end.He wasn't going anywhere so she had all the time in the world to go get the gun.Is it self defence? There was a fight,She started it,she had the weapon, it is a very tough sell .I have a problem calling it self defence if she can't remember it being that and winning a fight with a weapon is a uneven fight.LWOP is her destiny.....jmo
I could go a step further with regard to the gun, Stabby could have stolen her GF gun in an effort to be safe on the road while traveling alone, the gas she brought in the cans was so she didn't have to fill up in the middle of the night being alone. She could have lost the charger to the phone and shut it off because she wanted to save battery juice. Travis in fact could have called her knowing that she was going to see a new flame and guilted her into coming to Mesa. She arrives in the middle of the night or early morning whichever you want. She brings in her backpack with clothes, camera, cell and gun. They have guilted sex the next day, twice or however many times she said. He goes to take the shower, the knife for the rope is on the counter in the bathroom. She drops the camera, he gets mad and jumps out of the shower and she freaks out and stabs him once. He gets pissed and lunges at her and tackles her down to the ground and as they fall, she starts repeatedly stabbing him in the back and the back of the head. He is still struggling with her, she hops up and retrieves the gun from her backpack, maybe in the camera bag or whatever it is in and he is in full force coming at her. They fall to the ground again and roll around and the gun slips out of her fingers and falls to the floor. She somehow gets the upper hand from being behind him to slash his throat clean through at the edge of the bedroom. At this time, Travis is losing consciousness but not dead. She drags him by the feet into the bathroom and as his body is dragging his hands are flopping all over the wall. She puts a hand up on the wall to balance herself. She then gets him into the bathroom and he is still not dead so in a last ditch effort she shoots him in the face. I'm ignoring some other facts but is it plausible? Maybe. I choose to believe that it happened the way the persecutor says mostly because it makes more sense and most of the evidence supports it.

Defense wants the court to preclude the state from using "lack of remorse" as an aggravating factor in the sentencing phase of the trial.

Defense says using lack of remorse against a defendant claiming self-defense(read: innocence) is unconstitutional.

Prosecution wants to maintain the option to use lack of remorse as rebuttal(counter-argument) to any allocution(statement to Judge prior to sentencing) by the defendant.

The biggest problem with this theory IMHO is the physical shape she was in after the murder. There is no physical evidence that he actually attacked her. When she saw Ryan in Utah, he did not mention any physical injuries (limping or anything like that) except for the cuts to her hand - which were obviously caused by the knife when she attacked him. She has never claimed that he attacked her with the knife.

As an aside, I don't know if pulling his head back with his hair so she could cut his throat would necessarily result in clumps of hair being pulled out (I have never done it!) but I think I remember seeing crime scene pics of clumps of hair in blood. I could be wrong, and maybe someone can correct me.

I keep coming back to the gas cans. One gas can in case she runs out of gas? OK, I can see that. Two cans? Well, I guess, but it's kind of ridiculous. But three gas cans? There is no reason to have three unless you want to drive through Arizona entirely without stopping for gas. There is a reason why she doesn't want to admit that she had a third gas can, and this is it. She definitely had three, but she claims she returned one. However, there is no way she returned it without a receipt. No. Way.

@zeebee...I totally agree about the gas cans. Also, Darryl did say in testimony that she wanted them for a trip to Mesa. If anything proves premeditation, it is those gas cans. Reminds me of the woman who was convicted by the fact that she used her customer loyalty card to save 34 cents. What JA saved by filling the third one in Utah is probably a pittance as well and will hopefully prove to be her undoing.

This young man overcame so much to suffer such a horrible fate.

And you are my favorite poster because you always post with so much class
I often reflect on that... Travis had overcome so much, he had a truly crappy start in life, and yet he managed to rise above that and achieve quite a bit. Somehow, that makes it even more tragic to me. He survived horrible parents, and drugs, and abuse, and terrible neglect, and all the aftermath that comes with that... but he could not survive Jodi. And Jodi, for all her claims of childhood abuse, had things far, far better than Travis did as a child.

And thank you for the sweet compliment, you are very nice to say so.

I do believe Jodi tells the truth now and then. The problem is, she lies SO much that it is difficult to determine those rare moments when she is actually being truthful. I have always thought that rather than telling big truths (such as just being honest about some large topic), that Jodi instead tends to sprinkle tidbits of truth amidst her endless lies. In this case, she could be telling the truth about the overdraft fees. It does not then automatically follow that she is telling the truth about why there are so many overdraft fees. It could be because of Travis borrowing money, or it could be that Jodi overspent or miscalculated.

Plus, I still come back to, IF she loaned Travis money (still doubtful to me), who lends more money than they have available?? If she had left enough in her account to cover any outstanding checks or debits, there would not have been any overdraft fees. Duh. So even if she lent Travis money, and even if it was a sum that then made her overdrawn and resulted in very high fees (probably because they kept being resubmitted), Jodi, as always, takes ZERO responsibility for the situation. Or for anything, ever. If she chose to lend Travis more money than she had, it is all Travis' fault. Every single thing that ever goes wrong in her life is the fault of someone else, never, ever Jodi's fault.

Instead he chose to ridicule her to his friends and continue in a mutually destructive relationship. For such a spiritual person, I find that disappointing.
Travis was pretty damaged himself (due to his early childhood), so I don't think holding him to an extra high standard is fair. Do we know if he ever received any counseling for his own childhood trauma? Do we know that he knew anything about mental health issues or resources? Do we know that he did not encourage Jodi to get help? The defense would not want that info admitted even if it existed. Realizing someone has 'issues' or that they are a manipulative, clingy, jealous bitch, and realizing they badly need significant mental health intervention are not the same thing.

Also, do we know how Mormons generally feel about mental health issues? They seem to think you can 'pray the gay away', so it seems possible they could be equally in denial about mental health issues, since some segments of the general population still think admitting or getting help for mental health issues is shameful or weak or even just evidence of Satan's influence. That might or might not have been a factor affecting Travis' knowledge of and familiarity with mental health issues in general.

I was watching that testimony yesterday and it sounded like he initially told an investigator she told him she was going to Mesa but when Juan grilled him on the stand he danced around the answer and said he did not recall. I believe he did know her destination. She was fixated on him with her intense stare during his entire testimony

I keep visualizing the weight in the trunk. She had 15 gallons of gas. a case of "Costco" water and luggage.

I was watching that testimony yesterday and it sounded like he initially told an investigator she told him she was going to Mesa but when Juan grilled him on the stand he danced around the answer and said he did not recall. I believe he did know her destination. She was fixated on him with her intense stare during his entire testimony
Darryl danced around several issues. He never offered any extra words, and certainly knew more about his time with Jodi than he let on.

Because getting kicked off the jury is fascinating, but leaving because you are sick is not? That's my guess.

I don't buy this, because all the pics were taken with the shower door open. Unless you believe that tidy Travis liked to shower with the shower door open, that theory does not work. There is no way Jodi could have crept in and opened the the shower door without Travis noticing. So Travis had to be aware those pictures were being taken.

Stabby was also supposed to reimburse TA for her portion of travel expenses,I'm betting she bounced more than a couple of checks she wrote to him. She also asked TA in a text shown in court to borrow money and if he'd made the deposit.
This is my recollection as well.

I don't see that scenario as "plausible". Plausible means seeming reasonable or probable, and I don't think that scenario is either. However, I will grant that the scenario you listed is "not impossible". That is the best I can do.

So Jodi did manage to come up with an explanation that is not totally impossible. That does not make it believable, or reasonable, or plausible. If a defendant could get out of a crime just by coming up with a story that is technically not impossible, nobody would ever be convicted of anything.

@zeebee....here is where Martinez got Brewer to agree that she borrowed the cans for Mesa.
No. Way.
I was offering a plausible scenario. She was continuing to Utah and that again is desert driving for some of it. Again, I don't want to state that I support this view, I was just putting it out there. Stabby alone is the person that could clear it up. If she admitted to stealing the gun for purposes of protection and got the 3 gas cans for the trip, she knows she has shown pre-meditation so she can't come back on that. I do think that the scenario at Travis house could have happened. The photo with her foot was looking into the bathroom and she obviously dragged him in there feet first. I again think this was pre-meditated but I wanted to put that out there coconut style!

The last photo of Travis alive ...what is that expression? Fear, terror or profound sorrow?? It is haunting an d heartbreaking. It brings to mind the video in which he re counted his prior near death experience when he tried to convey his terror to the woman in the story through his retinas. How eerie is that? JA her head in his lap Seeming not to listen to that conversation.. but she was.

Re tiger/bear
I believe it was Olga or Apple who posted the other day (sorry if I have wrong name) about a coworker from her past who was a Vietnam vet who went into an episode when he overheard the Vietnamese customers arguing. It wasn't the sight of the people -- he didn't freak until they started arguing with each other. I would guess his reaction would have peaked if he overheard in Chinese, Japanese, etc.
I found her story very fitting regarding the tiger/bear idea.

Dr Karp was hired by the defense to evaluate Stabby. She later either withdrew from the case on her own or the defense chose not to pursue her testimony/evaluation.

"Martinez is now asking Conner about how the camera's memory card was found in the washing machine separate from the camera."

ETA: Just saw the other posts regarding this. Heather Conner was the crime scene technician, so I believe she would have been the one to have found it/retrieved it. Not Det. Flores or the camera guy. I have no idea how they handled evidence and sent it to DF or the camera guy.

Then scroll down to:

5:00 p.m. ET: Conner says a digital camera door was broken off and found in the washing machine.

5:13 p.m. ET: Martinez is now asking Conner about how the camera's memory card was found in the washing machine separate from the camera.

So, apparently the camera door was also found separately. I really wish JM would have brought this testimony up to Dr.D.
Thank you for pointing out Connor's testimony. Could this have been caused by the agitation of the wash cycle?

Stabby doesn't JM to be able to argue any lack of remorse. If found guilty she will still scream she is innocent of murder. The Judge, if I recall correctly, has delayed ruling on this until after jury decides on verdict in guilt/innocent phase.

Reminds me of the woman who was convicted by the fact that she used her customer loyalty card to save 34 cents. What JA saved by filling the third one in Utah is probably a pittance as well and will hopefully prove to be her undoing.

Dirtbag Darryl. Funny how his story changed or his memory all of a sudden got impaired while testifying.

I guarantee he's withholding evidence for her. (My spidey senses sent me a text.)
