I have followed this case closely, my heart hurts so bad for Travis and his family and I wish more than anything that Jodi received the death penalty. I have caught myself staring at the pictures of Travis wondering to myself what it would of been like to of have been friends with him. To me he just seemed like he would of been a great friend and I find myself wishing somehow I could hug him, to some how comfort him. I don't know why but the picture of his face close up in the shower brings me to tears each time, IMO his face gives away emotions of being frightened and betrayed and it just gets to me every time as well as the many others. May the jury make the right call and may Travis know that so many people love him and are fighting for him, even though of us that never got to meet him.

Not that I should have to for anyone who's followed the trial, but I'll review my "absurd claims", all based on testimony:

    1. Personality/Attachment Disorder: prosecution witness expert conclusion
    2. Travis jealousy: his own emails and words about these other men (Abe, John, Steve, Ryan)
    3. Money: Travis massive business loan from Deanna never paid back, prosecution never contested the Jodi financials about overdrawn account, so it's as good as true at this point, multiple texts from Travis asking for money, Flores saying Travis was in financial trouble...

My purpose is forming a full and clear picture of the people involved in the case. Blind groupthink "clearly supporting Travis and despising that psycho killer" sounds utterly pointless to me. If that's your flavor, hit the ignore button on me and it will be a much smoother ride for you, cupcake.
    evening coco

    1. annnnnd? so what?
    2. what does this prove or help?
    3. Please point to evidence the proves he a.borrowed b. never paid Deanna back c . "mulitple text" asking for money (I know of only one email that it was suggested that he asked the Hughes, was that email even entered as evidence? sorry can't remember)

Couple things I think JM left hangning or errored on
    Blonde hair debunked
Checks $$$ of Arias' claims she was borrowing him money (not that this supports a damn thing in her favor, it provides a reason she'd be mad enoug to kill)

I do believe some of the things Jodi has said. This happens to be one of them. We know he got a large sum of money from Deanna. Jodi's bank statements support the overdraft and fees. She did let him do it, but read on...

I don't expect him to think she had BPD or any specific diagnosis, but he knew something was very wrong. I hold Travis to a higher standard, maybe unfairly. But as the more functional and responsible person of the couple, he could have steered her toward help. Instead he chose to ridicule her to his friends and continue in a mutually destructive relationship. For such a spiritual person, I find that disappointing.

You are right of course, and I absolutely agree with you, some of the opinions in here and the information I've been able to gather have also have made me change some of my points of view. I like to argue, when this arguments are healthy and meaningful. Thanks!

I have a question. Does anyone know the date of her journal entry where she says "there is something off with that boy"? Wasn't it in Sept/Oct of 07?

I agree with you-differing opinions makes for interesting conversation. When people attack someone's opinion and purposely trying to make them look stupid-that's when I get angry. Some people are flat out rude to others and people just sit by and watch it without saying anything. That causes some people to not want to post for fear of their post being ridiculed.

The big elephant in the room is what set Travis off on May 26th (I think that's the date). Obviously, we cannot know because it's so prejudicial. However, I think that even though the reason may be prejudicial and show Jodi in a bad light, it's the key to almost everything. Out of what...82,000 emails/texts, there is only a handful of times that Travis was "mean" to her? For him to go on hours calling her Satan and the worst thing that ever happened to him, she had to have done something horrid. Therefore, it seems to me that whatever she did was to manipulate him somehow into staying with her. When that didn't work, she decided to kill him. I'd give anything to read that whole IM exchange. My imagination probably can't even come up with something as bad as it probably was.

I agree, I've been trying to find the messages from that date, but so far I have been able to locate them. I wonder if they were sealed and if they will be available after the trial finishes. What I don't understand is how the judge allowed part of that communication to be entered into evidence, and she didn't let the prosecution show the entire exchange. It seems really unfair, and I wonder if the jury is wondering why they haven't seen those texts.

I agree May 26 is an important date. That bashing he dished out, cracked her BPD shell and was the split in her that she decided to murder him. Not only could she no longer pretend to herself what laid behind the mask, he was going to out her. Good book on this about BPDs 'rage murders'
    http://books.google.com/books?id=03G...page&q&f=false

I don't think much of the hours aspect, they both were blabber mouths so I can see it going back and forth neither letting go. Neither had let go before so this time would be no different in that aspect. If I can see this trait, you know so could JA and egg him on all the more wanting his anger in print with her gun plan just two days later.

My gut still doesn't let go that something major is missing in this. I can't drop the feeling there is something about the sex pics that day might have been manipulated with dates, that he had no idea she was taking them, and nagging at me her slip about being there 'all week, ah, that day'

Was that the one he had JD read that was highlighted maybe? I made a note that day and don't know what it pertains to.

One thing that leads me to believe that she had the gun and knife with her is the fact that when she was arrested, she had a gun and knife packed in her things. It had worked for her once right? Of course the jury will not hear that.

For the person asking about rebuttal witnesses, I have also read that there is going to be someone from PPL. I have seen speculation that it may be that Jodi was originally scheduled for Cancun. That would be a huge BOOM imo.

Also, why had the media not tried to contact the 2nd juror who dropped out the way they did juror 5? Not a peep about him since he was unable to continue.

Eh....coconut is fine, I only have a problem when the point gets rehashed so many times over such a long period of time that you just can't take it anymore. Plus some of the posts are funny as fuck so it makes for good conversation.

She could have said it was another part of JA's "organization" after she killed TA.
Palin was trying real hard, but it looked like to me DeMarte came through it without any damage.

Wasn't that around the time Stabby said they got in the fight and she broke her finger? I thought it was anyways.

-Yes, plus possibly others. Dr. D was not allowed to address another dx. JW objected with approach & it was sustained.
-A motion was filed long about that prohibited Dr. D from also discussing "SARA".

    2. Travis jealousy: his own emails and words about these other men (Abe, John, Steve, Ryan)

-How many e-mails are you referring to? There were 82,000 e-mails between TA & JA. What was the whole conversation (not just words taken out of context)? Did JA say something or are we only reading TA's responses to unknown words said to him?

-JA had access to his passwords, so I have no idea whether she sent it from his account or he did. She admitted deleting messages after she killed him. The pedo letters were fake, so I hold nothing past her.

    3. Money: Travis massive business loan from Deanna never paid back, prosecution never contested the Jodi financials about overdrawn account, so it's as good as true at this point, multiple texts from Travis asking for money, Flores saying Travis was in financial trouble...

-Have no idea about the Deanna loan situation. She was supposed to be a defense witness (per court records filed), but they never called her.
-Who knows why her account was overdrawn. Just because a proven liar says it, doesn't make it true.
-Multiple texts asking for money? Maybe because JA owed TA money for the BMW?
-TA also paid JA money for cleaning his house.

I think this may be the day that a juror had a personal matter to take care of.

Do you mean the pics? I've never seen them as poses from day one. Even before the sit picture, I saw surprise if not fear in him at the 5:27:18

On 'the week' thing .. think it was in one of the interrogation tapes. Sorry, I can't be specific right off. I'll try and locate it and link it back for you.
It's just one of those kind of things that sits on your mind, know what I mean? Might be nothing but it went in and sat down on the hippocampus :)

I have always thought that he was surprised in those pics, he just doesn't seem relaxed. On a side note, I tried to find the Hoover dam hippocampus photo today because it was Friday and I was in a fog but had no success. Needed a laugh.

If you get bored on the long weekend, I just added a couple things worth reading on the Martinez fan thread.

Yes, the week thing. So that was on an interrogation tape? I guess I must have missed that. So I take it she slipped and start to say 'the week' instead of 'the day'? That girl can't keep her story straight. I bet her crayon box is unorganized.

That might be debatable? They'll definitely bring them a lovely pet bunny for Mother's Day. Then if their mother has any complaints on their qualities as a son, snap the rabbits neck & throw it's body in her lap. (see the episode of "Tough Nuts, Australia's Hardest Criminals" on Lennie McPherson.) Personally I think I'd prefer to be kicked.
